The automation capabilities are excellent. Multi-step workflows, scheduling, and monitored folders help eliminate manual work and significantly reduce errors.
The security features are also strong—encryption, secure protocols like SFTP/HTTPS, and compliance support—which gives me confidence when handling sensitive data.
I also appreciate the centralized control and detailed logging, as they make monitoring, auditing, and troubleshooting much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, especially for new users or smaller teams without dedicated IT support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how GoAnywhere MFT makes automation easy and saves a lot of time by removing manual work and being error-free. The UI is simple to use, and it offers strong security features, making it feel reliable for handling sensitive data in a secure way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the UI feels a bit outdated and could be more intuitive. The configuration and initial setup are a bit harder for new users. Debugging workflows when something fails takes much time to figure out what went wrong. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I primarily use GoAnywhere MFT for automating and securing file transfers between different systems. What I like most is how it centralises all file transfer activities in one place, making it much easier to manage and monitor workflows. The support for secure protocols like SFTP and FTPS ensures data is transferred safely, which is critical in our environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While GoAnywhere MFT is reliable and feature-rich, there are a few areas where improvements could noticeably enhance the overall experience. A major opportunity is the user interface and general usability. The UI feels a bit dated and not as intuitive as many modern tools, and moving between projects, workflows, and logs can be somewhat cumbersome. A more modern, responsive design—paired with clearer organization, stronger search capabilities, and customizable dashboards—would make everyday work smoother and faster.
The learning curve is another challenge. Even though the workflow builder reduces the need for scripting, getting comfortable with advanced features such as variable handling, error conditions, and integrations can be difficult for new users. More interactive tutorials, guided setup wizards, and practical, real-world workflow templates would help users ramp up more quickly.
Error handling and debugging also seem like areas for improvement. The logs are detailed, but they can be overly technical and not always easy to interpret. Clearer, more user-friendly error messages—ideally with suggestions for how to resolve issues—would be very helpful. Adding step-by-step debugging, visual error tracing within workflows, and smarter alerts would make troubleshooting far more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the flexibility GoAnywhere MFT offers, allowing us to customize security protocols to match our existing compliance regulations. It enables us to perform high-volume file transfers, saving us time when moving many files from one department to another. It makes it easy to create secure and reliable automated file transfer workflows, helping us reduce human errors and our workload during file transfers. The advanced safety functions, like end-to-end encryption and multi-factor authentication, are great. The high-speed file transfers with the option to accelerate file transfer are also very helpful. We have not had any setbacks while working with GoAnywhere MFT. All the file transfer services we have been getting are outstanding and there has been no issues to deal with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like most about GoAnywhere MFT is its strong security and easy automation. The encryption, compliance support, and centralized dashboard really stand out, and the ability to schedule and automate file transfers saves a lot of time and manual effort. These features make GoAnywhere MFT valuable because they simplify and secure our file transfer processes. Strong encryption and compliance support help protect sensitive data and meet regulatory requirements without extra effort. Automation and scheduling reduce manual work and errors, saving time. The centralized dashboard makes it easy to monitor, manage, and audit all file transfers from one place, giving better visibility and control. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One area that could be improved is the pricing which can feel high given its enterprise focus. Also support response times can sometimes be slow especially for more complex security or compliance-related setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Chilai,
Thanks for the review! As you mentioned it is a steep learning curve to get started, but very powerful once you get the hang of it. If you have any suggestions on how we can make it easier for a first time user, please reach out! We also offer expert services to help out with the more complicated cases, and we are looking at new AI features to help create/modify/optimize workflows and automations with natural language.

See how GoAnywhere MFT improvedI like how GoAnywhere MFT combines secure file transfer, automation, and ease of use in a single platform. The automation features are very impressive, allowing us to schedule file transfers, process files, and handle exceptions efficiently. I also appreciate the centralized dashboard, which gives us clear visibility into all transfers, making it easy to track activity and troubleshoot issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are a few areas where it can be improved, like the initial setup and configuration, which can be complex for first-time users, especially when integrating with multiple systems or setting up advanced workflows. Some of the documentation could be clearer and more detailed, particularly for less common protocols or custom automation tasks. The user interface, while functional, can feel a bit dated and occasionally less intuitive when navigating between multiple projects and reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had the opportunity to evaluate GoAnywhere MFT through a trial license provided by the GoAnywhere sales team after a short call to discuss my use case. The setup was smooth and straightforward, with clear documentation that made implementation easy even for a first-time user. I explored the platform for almost 1 month, including an extended period to complete my evaluation and a short proof of concept (POC) for secure data transfer scenarios.
During my evaluation, I frequently used GoAnywhere for testing various workflows and integrations. I explored several key capabilities — Advanced Workflows, secure file transfers (SFTP/FTPS/HTTPS), user management, encryption, scheduling and detailed audit reporting. The interface felt intuitive, making it simple to build, automate and monitor workflows from a single dashboard.
One thing that really stood out was the Cloud Connector Marketplace. I installed the Salesforce Connector directly from within the platform and it took less than five minutes — no external downloads or complex setup required. Everything is managed within the environment, which makes it extremely convenient. There are also many other connectors available for applications like AWS, Jira, Trello and Google Cloud Storage, expanding integration possibilities significantly.
The customer support experience was excellent. The team was quick to respond whenever I encountered an issue and even extended my trial period to ensure I could complete my testing comfortably.
Overall, GoAnywhere MFT provides an impressive mix of security, automation and integration features. My hands-on experience gave me a clear understanding of its capabilities and how it can support our future requirements for secure and automated data movement across systems. There is nothing I dislike about GoAnywhere MFT. I evaluated the platform for almost a month using a trial license and found its features and functionalities impressive. From Advanced Workflows and secure file transfers to the intuitive Cloud Connector Marketplace, everything worked seamlessly. I look forward to exploring more of its capabilities for future automation and integration needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
