1-> i like the user interface of gitlab because its beginner friendly and easy to use. a whole team can manage a single or multiple projects and they can work on their own branches and the code can be pushed , reviewed and deployed. everything is at one place.
2-> the tracking of code changes is awesome you con switch between diff commits or versions of code. anyone can't push pull or deploy the changes only those who have correct rights will be able to use that functionality.
3-> its perfect for both large scale and small scale projects.complete developement life cycle is managed via gitlab in a very beautifull manner.
4-> from code pull to code push from code reviews to pushing code review changes from bug tracking to bug resolution everything works perfectly smooth.
5-> i love to use gitlab at workplace.its irreplaceable tool in terms of everything that you need for developement Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1-> sometimes the code that you have pushed won't be visible to you for few minutes. it means code push does not work in real time.
2-> comparing multiple commmits is little bit complex.
3-> premium features are overpriced.
4-> little bit slow while loading when we press any button at UI. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing I like about gitlab is the security, multiple repositories management based on project, linking of jira tickets, configuring CI/CD pipeline etc.
It provides a single platform to manage, configure, and use your tech codebase, and infrastructure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

GitLab is a great tool to promote DevSecOps principles into a company. It's really easy to onboard and to setup all the right patterns for a good approach of DevSecOps.
It's not only dedicated to tech and experimented profiles, it's also easy to onboard and to use for juniors and for non-tech profiles. Therefore, GitLab is the central tool of your project lifecycle, bringing visibility, enhancing productivity and security into your projects Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some interesting features are only accessible to highest level of licences Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think in GitLab I see more features and a realising experience with the user-friendly interface. GitLab stores the project source code and there is a CI/CD feature. I use this feature for my project to continue integration and development purpose Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used Gilab last 2 years since I joined my current company. During this period, I faced a lot of difficulties but also Gitlab is trying its best to provide the service. I don't have any dislike yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was using SVN earlier from using Gitlab, and I was told by my employer to switch to Gitlab first I was a little skeptical that this would not be an upgrade, but I was wrong there as when I started using Gitlab the community of this product helped me a lot as it has a vast community of developers in different platforms like StackOverflow and Reddit.
The best part of this product which I liked the most is revert & cherry-pick commands which basically helped code review meetings better and I can just see all the logs and revert the issue commit within a few seconds Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since GitLab is mainly for private projects there are little downsides to it as well for instance, there are times when I have seen GitLab down and had to search on the web for its solution. This is never or very rare issue with Github or SVN. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Upgrading GitLab to newer versions, particularly for self-hosted instances, can occasionally be challenging, especially when dealing with custom configurations or integrations.
Also, I have faced some performance issues wile accessing repositories during peak usage hours Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Repository Management is the best thing that i like in GitLab. It provides web-based repository creation and management interface. With its support for both private and public repositories, we can work together on projects with various levels of access. it's so convenient Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In my personal opinion, GitLab has a learning curve because of its extensive feature set, maybe some users may find that it takes some time to become skilled in utilizing this platform in all of its facets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm using Gitlab for a little over a year and must say it has been a smooth ride using it. For anyone who's used Github before can easily navigate Gitlab well. Codebase along with branching, merging and conflict resolution is effectively managed. The best part is CI/CD integration where our entire deployment can be instantly automated by creating pipelines. Overall, everthing is well documented, what each feature does is explained well. Lastly, it is a good tool for large scale organizations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The number of features on the UI are a bit overwhelming, but it gets better eventually after one uses it for long time. Also, the most recent commits take few seconds to be visible, this might be a bug which can be easily fixed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
