It has an excellent-looking interface. The way it shows conflicting files and who was the author makes me work more seamessly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is costly for non-students. I found that the UI sometimes lags on Windows 10 for some reason I can put my finger on, and much of the information is hidden, and you need to navigate thoroughly to find what you need to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tower is a tool that is crafted with love. It's a beautiful native experience that feels at home on both macOS and Windows. It's also the first Git client that made Git click for me. I now merge, rebase, reset and cherry-pick with no fear: I now understand what I'm doing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing I don't like about Tower. I only wish it had a merge tool :-) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I hate using the command line
I've tried a ton of tools over the years, from free options like github desktop to more complex options like kraken.
For me, tower is better than them all.
It's easy to use, clearly shows you basic functions while giving you the option for more complex commands in menus if needed.
Even though this is a paid tool, I choose to use it because it just works so much better than the other options and I'm happy to support the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I've found: tower always seems to fail a commit when trying to create github actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like most about Git Tower is that it always works, it is visual and makes some of the tedious tasks of using git cmd super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much more that I don't like about Tower. Maybe two little things: 1) I know how to do some stuff over the cmd, and I don't know how will be done on the GUI, so I keep switching between both. 2) Switching between git projects is a bit painful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the ability to very specifically stage files or parts of files and make very detailed commits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It’s a little bit too expensive for more casual use. I wished a client of its capabilities would be available to more people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Git Tower is the most intuitive git client that I have ever used. It takes the pain out of complex operations like interactive rebasing and simplifies branch and pull request management for our team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In all honesty, there isn't anything that I dislike about Tower. It is a fantastic product, and the company provides top-notch support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to add my work and personal github account as well as different accounts for gitlab servers is just amazing. I can easily manage all my repositories over multiple accounts and providers.
Being able to categorise my repositories into different categories is great to keep an overview of what repo is for what. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing missing would be a more integrated solution for Github pull requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of use and learning the new technology
The kind of features that match the current technology needs Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing to name to dislike as the tool is simple and robust to rely on Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Git integration with the existing application is secure and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Many times felt performance issues when project size is considerably big and memory limitation. Also GitHub Desktop version needs improvement. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are many git apps out there - some trying to be smart and helpful on your behalf. Tower is rather a toolbox allowing you to choose your approach. It doesn't prescribe, it only enables. It is also a native macOS app, something in the age of electron and other development tools is becoming more scarce. The ease of use, ability to drag and drop and just simplify git actions which can get quite hairy in command line s an absolute live saver. Few tools allow me to work as confidently as Tower does. There are some minor annoyances with how it handles multiple tabs, switching etc. But it's so small given the overall value that it's not worth staying away over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
