As with any very comprehensive piece of software the vast array of features is overwhelming and most users will only use a small portion. I attended a week's training course on how Surpac could be used on our mineral exploration projects.
First and foremost, any GIS and modelling software is only as good as the data it uses. Surpac has a very efficient filer system that fires out / blocks invalid data entries. Whilst initial imports can take a while, once the data is up to scratch importing stand alone data sets is very easy. The other option is to link the software directly to a MS access database (or similar). Whilst this takes time to "map" the database and link each table and field to each corresponding parameter in the software, once done Surpac will automatically read the database upon opening of the software.
Secondly, importing digital terrain models and profile data is relatively quick and easy enough. One can then "snap" borehole collars to the profile to ensure as accurate modelling as possible.
The ability to draw, amend and edit models is simple enough and does not take a long time to learn how to do. There are very comprehensive online tutorials available.
Importing of drilling orientation data enables one to view the path of the borehole as opposed to an imagined (and highly innacurate) straight line. Again, Surpac can read this from the database once mapped instead of importing the dataset each time the software is opened. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simply put there is not a lot to dislike about Surpac. It has clearly been designed from the outset with the user in mind and that shows throughout the whole interface. I am competent in a small number of its features, a list of which can be very overwhelming. Its main competitor, Datamine, is a much more confusing piece of software. I really appreciate the following features of Surpac:
Simplicity: You can easily edit string files in text formats.
Lightweight: The files are comparatively lighter than other mining applications.
Convenient Plotting: The plotting feature is very user-friendly.
Flexible Block Model Reporting: It offers a flexible and informative block model reporting.
User-Friendly Interface: The interface is easy to navigate and user-friendly.

I believe the following features of Surpac application require revision and enhancement:
Block Modeling: The current block modeling features can be complex and challenging to edit. Simplification of this feature to make it more user-friendly, like DataMine, would be greatly appreciated.
DTM Sensitivity: DTMs are very sensitive to light errors. An automatic error correction feature would be useful.
Automatic Pit Modeling: Implementation of automatic pit modeling, like in DataMine, would enhance the user experience.
Ramp Creation: Integration of a ramp creation feature, like in DataMine, would be beneficial.
Automation of String Work: Automating some of the string work would save time and effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Surpac is a very easy and straightforward app, I've never had a problem with importing different file structures from another mining app into Surpac.

Surpac is best use for mining. From coordinates you can create a block model which can feature the ideal and exact face of what your model is. I will highly recommed this and request for trainings to enhance more insights about surpac Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
