## Geotab Reviews
 ### 1. Geotab Review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ricardo R. | Auxiliar de Sistemas y Monitoreo, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Tracking of our units with continuous monitoring and telemetry. Its patented algorithm shows the actual route of the unit, without omitting any movement. It also allows us to identify driving habits, configure custom developments, and integrate with our clients. Additionally, we can schedule maintenance using telemetry. The technical support is good, navigation on the platform is easy, and speed alerts help us maintain better control of the operators for their safety. With Geotab Ace through its AI. Routes and geofences. Cost-benefit.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The Geotab service is experiencing intermittencies, which means that in certain situations we are left without service, and this can occur at times when workloads are higher. Although the browsing speed is good, this reduces performance.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Follow up when guiding our operators and be able to get them there faster and safer. More efficient journey reports. Their notification system helps in tracking mirror accounts for our clients. Engine stop.

 ### 2. Good Software for Fleet Management, Some Learning Curve But Worth It

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shrinivas, B. | odoo consultant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Real-time tracking is the best part for me, honestly yaar. Before Geotab, a driver would say, “Sir, two minutes only,” and then we’d end up waiting thirty minutes. Now I just open the dashboard and see what’s actually happening, oh, he’s still on the highway, okay, fine.

The fuel reports are also very helpful. Every week I check who is doing harsh braking and who is speeding too much. We had one driver who was always over-speeding, but he would never admit it. Then I showed him the data on the screen, and he had nothing to say. After that, he improved a lot.

The dashboard isn’t too complicated either. My operations guy isn’t really into computers, but even he learned within a week how to pull the reports. I wasn’t expecting that, so it was a good surprise.

One more thing: the alerts we set up, like if a vehicle is moving after office hours or if the engine is running too long without moving. One night we got an alert that a vehicle was moving at 11 pm, and nobody was supposed to be driving. We called the driver immediately. That feature alone is worth it for us. It gives real peace of mind when you’re managing so many vehicles.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Honestly the main problem is the interface it is a little bit overwhelming when you first start using. So many menus, so many options, you don't know where to go. First two three weeks I was totally confused, had to call support many times.

And the mobile app it works, but it is not as smooth as the main website. Sometimes it is slow to load, sometimes tracking is not refreshing properly. For me personally I am doing most things on laptop only, but my operations guy he prefers phone and he always complaining about this.

Customer support also sometimes ticket is raised and then two three days no response. For urgent issues this is very frustrating. Once our tracking was not updating for few vehicles and we had to wait almost one full day to get proper help. That time we were totally blind, no idea where vehicles are.

Pricing also I will mention it is not cheap yaar. For small fleet owner like me, the cost is feeling a little high sometimes. And if you want some advanced features, that is extra cost on top. So you have to plan budget carefully.

And one more small thing the report customization, it is there but it is not very intuitive. Sometimes I want simple custom report and I have to spend too much time figuring out how to set it up properly. Wish it was little more simpler.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Geotab, managing fleet was very headache. We had no visibility, driver will say vehicle broke down somewhere, we have no way to verify. Fuel bills were coming very high every month but we don't know why exactly. Lot of guessing was happening.
Now situation is totally different. Fuel cost has come down maybe fifteen to twenty percent because we can see idling time, we can see unnecessary long routes drivers are taking. That is direct saving in our pocket every month.
Driver behavior also improved a lot. Before nobody was accountable accident happens, everyone is saying "not my fault." Now we have data exact speed, exact braking, everything is recorded. Drivers also know they are being monitored so automatically they are driving more carefully. Less accidents, less vehicle damage, insurance company also happy.
For customer side also big improvement. Before customer will call and ask "where is my delivery" and we have no proper answer. Now we can tell exact location, exact estimated time. Customer satisfaction has gone up, we are getting less complaints.
Compliance and maintenance also, Geotab is reminding us when vehicle service is due. Before two three times vehicle broke down on road because we forgot maintenance. Now that is not happening.

 ### 3. Dynamic interface, predictive AI, and robust reports for proactive fleet management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joahan Gerardo A. | GPS Monitorista, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

This system stands out for its dynamic interface and a notably faster and smoother user experience compared to other solutions on the market. Beyond its operational agility, the platform enhances asset management through the integration of Artificial Intelligence, which allows for predictive analysis of fleet status and automates real-time anomaly detection. This complements the high precision of the GPS and the robustness of its detailed reports, enabling proactive management of critical alerts during the journey. Additionally, its architecture allows for seamless integration with external systems (ERP or CRM), centralizing information and ensuring total control, all backed by specialized technical support that ensures operational continuity.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Although the GPS accuracy is satisfactory, the platform has experienced general intermittencies at various times of the day which, despite being addressed swiftly, tend to coincide with periods of highest operational demand. This situation compromises the continuity of real-time monitoring right at the most critical work peaks, making it difficult to constantly track the units and affecting the efficiency in logistical decision-making.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The platform is quite agile and greatly facilitates the tracking of units, especially when managing a large fleet of vehicles. It proves to be a very practical tool if what you are looking for is to have solid evidence before different institutions or clients, as it offers a wide variety of detailed reports on all activities and movements carried out. This allows for constant and professional control of the operation, ensuring that there is always clear and precise information available to support the work of each unit.

 ### 4. Geotab’s Powerful Reporting, Integrations, and Real-Time Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matthew C. | Business System Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Geotab is a feature-rich telematics provider with a broad range of applications and functionality for fleets. It’s a well-developed product that delivers real-time, actionable insights. Reporting is especially powerful and is one of the most commonly used features in our organization, both through the out-of-the-box reports and the custom reports. The integrations it offers are also very powerful and we use regularly.
They have recently launched an AI reporting enhancement which has answered many questions for us about our data.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The User Interface/portal can be intimidating for first time users and slightly cumbersome but with enough training and guidance it becomes more familiar over time.
We would also say that maintenance tracking side of the application is also very basic and not a replacement for more advanced software applications that specialize in this space.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem that Geotab solved for our organization was fleet visibility. We had operated for a long time with zero insights and knowledge of our vehicles until we installed Geotab and over the course of the project vastly improved the metrics and data that we never had before to inform our team and vehicle operations.

 ### 5. Powerful Asset Tracking with Smooth Zoom, Reporting, and Dash Cam Review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay G. | Safety Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

It allows us to track our moving assets, generate reports on fuel mileage, notify mechanics when trucks are nearing their service hours, and pull dash cam footage for review. the ability to one click zoom in on a group of assets feels quick and smooth has the benefit of quickly review where any group of assets are parked/moving.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The reliance on cellular data has become a major hindrance for us. Even simple valleys along the road can cause our units to lose connection. When our drivers travel into the Northwest Territories, they often don’t have a strong enough signal, which prevents us from tracking them to confirm they’re still moving and safe. Although the units do come back online eventually, the downtime creates a stressful situation because we’re unable to communicate with our drivers until they reach an area with a stronger signal.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Geotab, we were having to track all of our fleets kilometers driven manually through odometer readings at each unit's fuel up. By having Geotab linked to our units, tracking units kilometers driven has become a breeze through generated reports. Then, when comparing to fuel costs, the fleets fuel mileage and consumption has allowed us to properly account for our fuel mileage and prepare a stronger budget. With the mandate of electronic logs, the HOS component has improved our companies ability to remain compliant with federal regulations.

 ### 6. Easy to use

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily G. | Compliance Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The platform is user friendly and our drivers are able to learn how to navigate it easily. I like that our drivers can use it on their company issued tablets as well as their personal phones and the data is seamless no matter what device they use.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

I wish it was more customizable. I also wish the reporting was easier to use. I also wish there was better training available for drivers. Specifically on how Geotab manages the split sleeper provision. A lot of our violations come from drivers not realizing their Geotab registered a split sleeper after a 2 hour break but they don’t do 8 in the sleeper so it goes back and takes that extra 2 hours from them. I think there should be a button that they have to select to use the split sleeper instead of it being automatically applied.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab's Hours of Service platform is super easy to use making my role as compliance manager easier. I am able to track unidentified drive time easily and assign the drive time to the appropriate driver.

 ### 7. Real-Time GPS Tracking and Custom Reports in One Powerful Dashboard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Victor O. | Technical Support Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What I like best is the real-time GPS tracking and how everything lives in one dashboard. I can see where every vehicle is at a glance, pull up trip history, and spot issues like harsh braking or idling without digging through separate tools. The custom reports are a big plus too, since I can set them up once and have them land in my inbox automatically

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

My main gripe is that the interface can feel cluttered and the learning curve is steeper than it needs to be. Finding a specific setting sometimes means digging through several menus, and some of the more advanced reports take trial and error to configure. The mobile app also feels a bit limited compared to the desktop version, so I usually wait until I’m at my computer for anything beyond a quick check

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab solves the problem of having no clear visibility into a fleet. Before, knowing where vehicles were, how they were being driven, and whether they were due for maintenance meant chasing people for updates or relying on guesswork. Now it’s all in one place. The biggest benefit for me is the time saved. I’m not manually compiling mileage or trip logs anymore, and the automated alerts mean I catch issues like speeding, excessive idling, or upcoming service needs before they become real problems. It’s also helped cut fuel costs and made it much easier to justify decisions with actual data rather than hunches.

 ### 8. Great Real-Time Tracking and Trip History

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Facilities Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like that I can see where assets are in real time. The trip history is excellent; if I get a driving complaint, it makes it much easier to identify the offender. I also appreciate being able to schedule recurring reports, so I don’t have to manually run them every week.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Reports aren’t intuitive and can be cumbersome to run when you’re trying to pull the specific data you need. Because the assets are pinged periodically, you don’t always get precise data for location, speed, etc. Also, if a vehicle is crossing over another street or highway, the posted speed limit may be pulled from the cross street, which can make it look like our driver is speeding when he isn’t.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Real-time coaching for our drivers when we receive a driving complaint helps us stay ahead of poor driving behavior and, hopefully, prevent an accident in the future.

 ### 9. Geotab: open platform with precise data and excellent features for electric fleets

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marian-Aurel C. | Logistics Trainee, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What I like most about Geotab is that it's not just a simple GPS. It's a very open platform (with API and SDK), so you can easily connect it to any application. The data comes directly from the car's computer, not estimated. Plus, in terms of electric fleets and security, they are far ahead of the rest of the market.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

What annoys me the most is that the MyGeotab interface is quite cluttered and has a steep learning curve; it's not intuitive at all at first. Additionally, direct technical support can be slow, and to generate truly useful custom reports, you have to get tangled up in advanced settings.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab solves the lack of visibility over the fleet. It provides you with accurate data directly from the car's computer, not estimates.

The benefit? Quickly reduce fuel and repair costs, see aggressive driving behavior, and integrate everything automatically into your ERP, without manually completed log sheets.

 ### 10. User-Friendly Maps, But Limited by Our Rate Plan

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marisa F. | Utility Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The platform is easy to navigate. I would consider it very user-friendly. The map and location is easy to understand at a glance. It came in very useful when I needed to check the location of my technicians due to a wildfire in the are.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Many features are not available to us due to our chosen rate plan. I was not at this company when they onboarded Geotab, so it looks like we are not takinng full advantage.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab helps us with the scheduling of appointments. Not only do we use the map to determine the technician's starting point, but we also use it throughout the day to determine where and when a technician could take another job. So it helps with our day-to-day production.

 ### 11. Powerful Fleet Insights and AI Analytics Backed by Massive Vehicle Data

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dotto K. | AB (Able Boy), Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

High-volume vehicle and driver data: Billions/trillions of data points from GPS, accelerometers, engine diagnostics (via OBD-II or similar), speed, braking, idling, fuel use, etc.609189
Safety and risk insights: Predictive Collision Risk (PCR), driver scoring, collision detection/alerts, seatbelt monitoring, and contextual risk (e.g., road type, area).05b635

Fleet management features: Real-time tracking, rules/exceptions (e.g., speeding, harsh events), compliance (ELD/HOS), sustainability/fuel efficiency, and asset tracking.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Complex / overwhelming interface (MyGeotab): Steep learning curve, too many menus, dated or unintuitive navigation, and difficulty finding features quickly. Many say it feels overwhelming at first and lacks strong visual cues.c03294
Usability and performance issues: Slow loading, laggy reports, clunky map views, and poor mobile app experience (especially iOS). Some mention constant issues with cameras (going offline, not recording, flipping vehicles).9fc9b4
Support and setup: Slow customer support response times, complex initial setup/dashboard configuration, and heavy reliance on resellers (leading to opaque pricing).dd5026

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Major Problems Geotab Solves
Here are the core fleet management pain points it targets:
Lack of visibility and control: Fleets often struggle with not knowing where vehicles are, how they’re being driven, or their health in real time. This leads to inefficient routing, theft, unauthorized use, and delayed responses.8850eb
High fuel and operational costs: Excessive idling, poor driving habits (harsh acceleration/braking), inefficient routes, and undetected fuel waste or theft drive up expenses.af508b
Vehicle downtime and maintenance issues: Reactive repairs, unexpected breakdowns, and poor scheduling increase costs and reduce uptime.c48d1e
Safety and risk management: High collision rates, risky driver behaviors, and slow accident response.72b09e
Compliance and administrative burdens: Hours of Service (HOS/ELD), IFTA reporting, DVIRs, and regulatory requirements are time-consuming and error-prone with manual processes.95fdc5

 ### 12. Comprehensive Fleet Management with great API

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brian V. | Firmware Team Lead, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like the way that Geotab's whole ecosystem works. From the API to the GO device itself, from MyAdmin to MyGeotab, and from the IOX to the GO device, everything integrates smoothly. The initial setup was pretty straightforward since the device and the MyGeotab app are 'plug and play,' so there aren't any worries about those issues. I also appreciate that Geotab is the number one fleet management system in the world as far as I'm concerned—Samsara and Motive don't come close.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The level of documents available for us engineers working with the GO device in a more deep way is not enough. Maybe if there could be a special channel for questions or some other way to be in touch with engineers that know about the deep stuff would be great. Also, the API itself is mysterious in some ways because of the lack of documents available again.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab solves vehicle tracking and OBD data reading issues, and its API offers many integration possibilities. It provides value through its portfolio for fleet management and as a platform for our custom solution development.

 ### 13. Empowers Data-Driven Fleet Management Decisions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shravan P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I use Geotab primarily for telematics insights and management, which helps me track vehicle locations in real time and analyze key performance metrics like fuel and engine diagnostics. Geotab allows us to better coordinate routes and respond quickly to changes with its accurate GPS tracking and trip data. I love the overall visibility and control it gives over fleet operations. The familiarity with the platform and its user-friendliness make it easy to be organized, as it enables my team to quickly use the data rather than just collect it. Once you're familiar with the layout, it's easy to navigate between dashboards, vehicles, and reports without needing extensive training. Setting it up was relatively straightforward, with the GO device being essentially plug and play.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The reporting flexibility is something that could be improved. Although Geotab offers a wide range of reports, creating highly customizable reports can sometimes feel a bit complex or time-consuming. For example, creating advanced or highly specific reports often requires a good understanding of Excel and technical configurations, which isn't ideal for everyday users who just want quick insights.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab helps me track vehicle locations in real time and analyze key metrics like fuel and diagnostics. It enhances visibility and efficiency, enabling data-driven route coordination and quick adjustments, turning guesswork into accurate decisions.

 ### 14. Geotab Delivers Actionable Fleet Data in One Flexible Platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandru-Georgian C. | Project Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What I like best about Geotab is its comprehensive fleet management capabilities and the amount of actionable data it provides in a single platform. I also appreciate the flexibility of the platform, as it can be customized to fit different business needs and integrates well with other systems.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

One aspect I dislike about Geotab is that the platform can feel overwhelming for new users due to the large number of features, reports, and configuration options available. Some advanced settings and reports require a learning curve before users can take full advantage of them..

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab helps us solve several fleet management challenges, including vehicle visibility, driver accountability, and operational efficiency. By providing real-time tracking and detailed reporting, it allows us to monitor vehicle usage, optimize routes, reduce unnecessary fuel consumption, and improve overall fleet performance.

 ### 15. Amazing Versatility and Seamless Integrations—Geotab Stands Out

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric M. | Vice President Of Compliance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The versatility is amazing. The ability to integrate several other services into this platform to suit your needs really sets Geotab apart from the rest of the field.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

I don’t have any negative feelings or feedback about Geotab. After nine years of using it, I feel like I fully understand both the company and the product. At this point, I honestly can’t think of anything constructive to add that would help them improve.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab has provided us with a platform that allows us to manage our entire logistical fleet. It helps us stay on top of federal regulations and maintenance, and it also includes partnered solutions that let us create a seamless app. Overall, it supports our company across every department.

 ### 16. Great Safety & Compliance Snapshot with Helpful Driver Performance Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel H. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like the safety and compliance tabs that provide a snapshot of the current status to help me track progress. The details such as the log data and collisions and speed profile are helpful to help evaluate the drivers.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

I would like to see more trip forecasting features so I can plan efficient routes for the drivers based on upcoming weather conditions, road construction, road hazards such as large vehicle accidents that could cause trip delays or re-routing unexpectedly.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The reporting details on collision risk and speed profiles is solving the problem of figuring out which vehicles and their drivers are most at risk of traffic violations and accidents so this helps me determine which drivers might need safety training.

 ### 17. Powerful Fleet Insights with Room for UI Improvements

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Spiros-Efraim K. | Sales And Marketing Representative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like Geotab's real-time data visibility, which makes it easy for us to use. It helps us monitor operations efficiently and maintain better control over fleet activities. The integration with other operational and logistics tools supports our daily workflow, combining fleet data with our internal systems to improve communication and maintain better overall visibility. The initial setup was relatively straightforward with support from the provider and clear documentation, making the onboarding process smooth.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

One area that can be improved is the user interface as some features can take time to navigate for new users. Additionally, reporting customization and data loading speed could be enhanced to provide a smoother overall experience.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Geotab for improving fleet visibility and operational control with real-time tracking, monitoring, and route optimization, which reduces delays and enhances communication.

 ### 18. Open, Fast, and Reliable Platform with Powerful Integrations and Expandability

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

I like that it operates like a data infrastructure company with an open platform philosophy, unmatched hardware expandability and deep engine diagnosis. It also has a security achitecture. The UI is personalized, it's an open platform that supports integrations, performance is fast with high fidelity daya and reliability, pricing remains modular with value over initial cost, support and onboarding is streamlined via the MyInstall platform, and AI has improved big time in 2026 with Geotab Ace.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

The middleman support model is the biggest downside because they sell exclusively through aithorized resellers. The UI/UX could feel overloaded, the mobile app has poerformance issues and can drain the phone's battery, the cost model is a bit complex and it requires proprietary hardware which could be problematric if you wannat switch providers in the future.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fleet management, reactive maintenenace, avoiding human error, reducing information overload and overcoming hardware obsolescence.
By solving these problems, geotab becomes a strategic partner instead of a service provider.

 ### 19. Clear Driving Scores and Ratings That Help You Earn Bonuses

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jenny P. | Escrow Closer, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The thing I like best about GeoTab is that i can clearly see my driving scores and ratings. We get bonuses based on our driving scores up against the rest of the fleet.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

This is jsut a personal thing that i am having a hard time getting used to. Our management told us that based on what they have learned from our driving safety cards, they want us to not make left turns. Accidents are way more likely to happen when a left turn is being made, so they want us to make 3 right turns intead. This is hard for me, lol.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GeoTab is allowing our management team to see where everyone on their team is located so that when we need to get help from someone on a ticket they know who is closest. It is also helping us drivers notice how we are driving and ways we can improve fuel economy and how far a set of tires goes based on driving habits.

 ### 20. Plug-and-Play Fleet Management with Reliable Smart Tracking

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Girish S. | R & D Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The plug-and-play design makes it straightforward to get started. It’s easy to customize, and it’s been a reliable tool for managing an entire fleet across different areas. I also like the smart tracking, which only sends data when something important happens. It's easier to implement, we use them in daily basis to track and get the distance so that the vehicle servicing can be done based on the odometer reading.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

It often takes significant development resources to fully customize and integrate, which makes it less of an out-of-the-box solution for smaller teams. The interface could also be more intuitive and easier to navigate.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

What stands out most about Geotab is how effectively it combines powerful data insights with real-world usability. The platform doesn’t just collect vehicle and fleet data—it turns it into actionable information that helps businesses improve efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Another strong point is its flexibility. Because of its open platform and extensive integrations, companies can tailor it to their specific needs rather than being locked into a rigid system. That makes it useful for a wide range of industries.

Finally, Geotab’s focus on innovation—especially in areas like telematics, AI-driven analytics, and electric vehicle support—shows that it’s not just keeping up with industry trends but actively shaping them.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

One downside of Geotab is that its platform can feel quite complex, especially for new users. With so many features and data points available, it may take time to learn how to navigate the system effectively and get the most value from it.

Another common issue is the user interface, which some people find less intuitive or slightly outdated compared to more modern platforms. This can slow down workflows, particularly for teams that rely on quick access to information.

Additionally, while the flexibility and customization options are a strength, they can also become a drawback—setting everything up to match specific needs may require extra time, training, or technical support.

Lastly, depending on the scale of use, pricing and add-ons can add up, which might be a concern for smaller businesses or those with tighter budgets.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Geotab is solving the challenge of turning raw fleet data into meaningful, actionable insights. Managing vehicles, drivers, and routes can quickly become inefficient without clear visibility, and that’s where the platform makes a real difference.

It helps address issues like poor route planning, excessive fuel consumption, and limited oversight of driver behavior. By collecting and analyzing real-time data, it allows users to optimize routes, reduce idle time, and improve overall fleet efficiency. That directly translates into cost savings and better day-to-day operations.

Another key problem it tackles is safety. With insights into speeding, harsh braking, or other risky driving habits, it becomes easier to coach drivers and reduce accidents. This not only protects employees but can also lower insurance and maintenance costs.

It also supports compliance and sustainability goals. Automated reporting simplifies regulatory requirements, while tracking fuel usage and enabling electric vehicle integration helps reduce environmental impact.

Overall, the benefit is greater control and visibility—making it easier to run operations smoothly, cut unnecessary costs, and make more informed decisions.

 ### 35. Powerful Fleet Insights and APIs, but MyGeotab Has a Steep Learning Curve

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 01, 2026

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

Data you can actually use – Geotab doesn’t just collect vehicle data; it turns it into actionable insights that fleets can apply to improve safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Open, scalable platform – Its open ecosystem and strong APIs make it straightforward to integrate with other systems and tailor solutions across different industries and fleet sizes.

Engineering-driven culture – There’s a clear emphasis on accuracy, validation, and continuous improvement, which helps build trust in both the data and the product.

Purpose beyond profit – The focus on road safety, emissions reduction, and smarter mobility suggests the company is aiming for long-term impact, not only short-term results.

Global reach with local relevance – Geotab operates at a global scale while still supporting region-specific regulations, use cases, and partners.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

Platform complexity – MyGeotab is very powerful, but that depth can feel overwhelming for new users. There’s a steep learning curve before fleets can fully unlock the value of the data.

User experience consistency – Some workflows and reports feel less intuitive than they could be, particularly when compared with newer, more UI‑focused SaaS products.

Customization can require expertise – While the open platform is a real strength, getting the best results often takes technical knowledge, partner involvement, or hands‑on configuration effort that smaller teams may struggle to support.

Hardware lead times / logistics – At scale, device availability, installation scheduling, and vehicle downtime can sometimes become friction points.

Reporting fragmentation – With so many reports and add‑ins available, it can take time to establish a “single source of truth” for certain KPIs without strong governance.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Problems Geotab is solving

Lack of visibility into fleet operations – Without telematics, it’s hard to see how vehicles are actually being used, how drivers behave day to day, and where inefficiencies or risks are building up.
Safety risk and reactive management – Many fleets only respond after incidents occur. Geotab helps shift this toward proactive, data-led prevention.
Operational inefficiency and cost leakage – Fuel waste, excessive idling, poor routing, unplanned maintenance, and under-utilised assets can easily go unnoticed without clear insight.
Regulatory and sustainability pressure – Fleets face growing expectations around compliance, emissions reporting, and electrification, all of which depend on reliable, consistent data.
Fragmented systems – Fleet data is often spread across multiple tools, which makes it difficult to form a single, trustworthy view.

How that benefits me

Better decision-making – I get access to high-quality, validated data that supports objective decisions instead of assumptions or anecdotes.
Focus on root causes, not symptoms – Rather than reacting to issues as they appear, I can spot patterns (driver behaviour, vehicle health, route inefficiencies) and address them earlier.
Efficiency and productivity gains – Clear visibility into utilisation, idle time, and maintenance needs helps reduce waste and improve overall performance.
Confidence in data accuracy – Geotab’s engineering-led approach means I can rely on the data when it’s used to justify changes, investments, or policies.
Future-proofing – Support for EVs, emissions data, and integrations helps me stay aligned with where the industry is heading, not just where it is today.

**What do you like best about Geotab?**

The scalability, the consistency with improvement in relevant technologies, the considerations for the Caribbean and LATAM markets. I also appreciate the supportive teams and user friendly interface.

**What do you dislike about Geotab?**

While the solutions are great, they aren’t always readily available for the Carribean Market which makes it a bit challenging as a Caribbean Reer Partner.

**What problems is Geotab solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our PAM pays close attention to our market needs and makes an effort to accommodate them where necessary. Moving to SaaS has helped us significantly, as we can now offer better pricing positioning and options to our clients that support their cash flow and budget needs.
