Top Rated geoSCOUT Alternatives

The GIS and well search engine are powerful..The export well header data and LAS logs functions are very flexible and user-friendly. There are modules for every discipline in petroleum, from drilling and well header information, through directional surveys, well logs, core analysis, well tests and production. The Qfind is a nice new addition, which allows users to access original reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the embedded cultural data, such as field and pool polygons are impossible to export with an attribute table, so they could be used in an external platform. Some simple functions, such as "go to well" in the well ticket, are amazingly counter-intuitive to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really liked the ability to look at production data when evaluating reservoir properties for my petroleum labs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has a lot of features that can get very overwhelming sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
geoScout allows me to check into different modules separately, which makes things more clear. This is the best part that I like about geoScout. Also, there is a function called the area of interest, which allows me to jump to the areas right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
geoScout charges in terms of different functions. For example, I need to pay for gDc additionally to import data into Mosaic to do economic analysis. And the way geoScout creates and saves templates is too complicated. I have to save the template into the local computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Creating maps using bubble maps, creating shapefiles and visualising oil & gas properties is very easy with GeoScout. Creating development plans based on maps of production and injection is easy due to the visualisation tools in GeoScout. The well ticket is very clean and easy to find required information and the production analysis window is great for viewing individual well and/or group production Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the features are not as user friendly as they could be. An example would be when you bring in a well list and you would like to view a multi-well production plot, you have to click the checkbox beside each well. This could be improved if you were able to click one, then shift+click the last one to select all. Annotating on the map is handy, but sometimes not the most user-friendly. I like the software but I would like to see more free training courses with longer time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Easy to use, fast loading time, easy access Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. It’s very helpful, easy to navigate on, easy to use. Fast to learn if your a new user like me. YouTube also has short clips on how to use if help is needed or you can ask a colleague Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Geoscout has really great customer service especially by phone. They're trying hard to consolidate all general data required for oil companies. Out of all the programs available out there, they're probably on the leading edge. The ability to print large, high quality maps is perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is not intuitive. Sometimes key information is located in "modules" which have to be purchased. If you just can't figure out why something doesn't work the way it should, try holding "Cntrl". The training sessions offered to companies are also not very helpful, especially to advanced users. The graphing interface needs to be more functional, otherwise most users just export data from Geoscout and analyze it with a different software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
