The user interface of the program is easy to use. I also like its function of projection among different coodinate systems Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It does not work well / stable on network Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The program integrates several useful features including modification of elevation layers without having to use QGIS or ESRI GIS. Additionally, the program allows for the easy integration of CAD drawings directly from contractors and clients. We have several clients that give us elevation cross sections as individual points and GeoHECRAS makes bringing in that data easy. You can then conflate that data into complete cross sections for use in 1D models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECRAS requires internet and is expensive. Many things can be done with HEC RAS that can be done in GeoHECRAS they just require more "leg work" with other programs. I have had issues with connectivity which stops me from properly saving projects. These are minor issues but issues non the less. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
CivilGEO customer support is top-notch. Whenever I had problems or needed help, I was connected to a knowledgeable engineer in a timely manner no matter what time of the day was.
Regarding GeoHECRAS, I particularly like the Stamp Geometry and Adjust Elevations tools that makes terrain modification for hydraulic modeling very easy.
Their knowledge base website is also informative. I actually learned several modeling tips from those articles. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Suggestion for the Stamp Geometry tool: would be great to have option to specify slopes for each side of the trapezoidal canals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

floodplain analysis and mapping in one single platform without HEC GeoRAS mapping extension Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
not much...it sometimes takes little longer to burn in a 1D channel into 2D terrain but it could be due to data quality issue Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECRAS has the tools to bring in an unassigned projection and line it up with the correct coordinate system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For a beginner to HECRAS it does not have procedures or steps to complete a task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is easy to use. Data input and manipulation is efficient and easy as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One downside to this program is that there are not many resources to help with errors or tutorials. The website has some resources but not as specific as I would prefer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ease of use with multiple platforms (GIS, AutoCAD, etc.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Need to remember it still uses HEC-RAS; most of their output is actually HEC-RAS output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interactive ability to cut cross sections and visualize the site while setting up your HEC-RAS Model at the same time. It saves time and the georeferences make the hydraulic modeling easier to understand and follow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
setting up the correct survey coordinates and adding in additional spacial data later to a model can be confusing as the spacial references don't mesh (or combine) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I'm new to HEC-RAS modeling. Staff was very responsive and knowledgeble with all questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once I understood the finer points of the software, I had no complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
