It's great that the program offers a graphical interface to model compared to the white boxes of HECRAS. In addition, CivilGEO has created a great program that is substantially more user friendly than the classic HECRAS. CivilGEO also offers great technical support when there is a program question or error. Almost every person who has helped me really knows the program and does a fantastic job. Everything you need for creating RAS models is integrated into the program. It's easy to go grab and merge DEMs as needed for your surface, and putting the actual model together is very easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the user-friendly interface, and it will save your working time. For example, when I create new cross-sections or setup manning'N or create terrain in the original HEC-RAS model, it will take some time. However, In Geo-HEC-RAS, as long as anyone has CAD contours, survey data, or any GIS data. We can import and use these data to create 1D and 2D model easily. Another function that I would like to meantion is the Global copy. When I want to combine two different projects in one project, I have to copy the geo-data and all the parameters manulally (copy and past 100 sections data). The Geo-HEC-RAS has a snap function, but it does not work as I expect. For example, if I want to draw polyline along with some ponint, I need to move my mouse arrow as close as possible to point. I hope it wokrs like AutCAD's snap funvtion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
GeoHECRAS combines an easy-to-use HEC-RAS interface with the ability to use field survey data and to use and process LIDAR. I have found the tech service to be fast, friendly, and responsive. If you have any issues or want to see a new feature, just let them know. I have been using GeoHECRAS regularly for over six years. I have used GeoHECRAS regularly for over 6 years and have run into a few problems here and there. Sometimes the problem was with the program, sometimes with my settings or data. Either way, tech service takes care of it quickly, ususally within a few hours. When using GeoHECRAS, I generally find that the most annoying things are native to the HEC-RAS engine rather than the GeoHECRAS interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
