"Easy to use and makes Salesforce CI\CD less daunting"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

Ease of use. CI\CD setup for Salesforce can be daunting but Gearset makes it easy. Gearsets knowledge base is great and is updated frequently. There was also plenty of support from our accunt exec. It was very easy to integrate into our existing org structure. The comparison feature is worth its weight in gold. Being able to comapre orgs to repos is invaluable for us. We use Gearset amost daily be it comparisons, test runs or deployments. The problem analyser for deployments is very helpful and proved its worth very quickly. What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

The only real drawback with Gearset is the cost. This was a struggle to get past approvals but its well worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My Experience using Gearset in DevOps"
4/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

It's easy to implement and see the complete pipeline. With some basic knowledge of version control anyone can use gearset with ease. Resolving the deployment error, merge confilcts, roll back and tracking Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

When we try to make new comparisons in new PR most of the time the previous filter remains there. Previously added items should disappear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Professional grade Salesforce DevOps solution"
5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

Gearset is a one-stop shop for a professional devops solution on the Salesforce platform. It combines all the best features of SF's DevOps center with additional must-have features such as CI/CD, data deployments, and automated unit testing. It is extremely easy to use and the company provides phenomenal support. Our team uses it daily and couldn't live without it at this point. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

The high cost makes it the cadillac of metadata deployment solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gearset is the best tool I've ever used."
5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

I love that Gearset is so intuitive to use, while still being extremely powerful. The simple setup process and team management, and integration capabilities make it extremely valuable regardless of your team size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

There are some idiosyncrasies you have to learn. like remembering to include certain components for things like FLS but once you learn them, the fact that you can choose whether or not to include those lower components is worth the learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Saves time and improves accuracy in the change mgmt process!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

The ability to leverage the metadata API in a declarative way. Monitoring metadata changes in production environments. The ability to create filters for quicker polling of metadata during comparisons. Integrating the change management process with our ALM tools! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

Managing and sharing connections can sometimes be difficult without governance and controls, but the tool does have the ability to do this. Setting up a CI/CD pipeline against Azure repos is a bit difficult as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Incredible tool - worth every penny"
5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

Gearset makes it easy to deploy changes between Salesforce environments, to not only metadata but also reference data. I would never ever be without Gearset, it makes it so simple to compare and deploy components between orgs that you'll wonder why you suffered with the devops centre or change sets for so long. What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

Nothing, it's amazing. I don't dislike anything about Gearset :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

It's a great product. If I had to ask for an improvement, I'd like the ability to write search expressions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"1 year of experience using gearset deploying CPQ data between different environments."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

What I like best about Gearset is its ability to automate and streamline the DevOps process. It provides a single platform for managing code, deployments, and testing, which can help to reduce errors and improve efficiency.

For the current client we msotly used for CPQ data, but increases a lot the efficiency and reduces the possibility of Human error Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

Mainly two points:

Lack of community Support: Gearste does not have a large community of users, which can make it difficult to find help and support when needed.

Deletion of records: Its not possible to delete records on our current org using only Gearset. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Gearset is the foundation of our DevOps process"
5/5
What do you like best about Gearset DevOps?

From a declarative Salesforce Administrator's perspective, Gearset has significantly improved from using Salesforce change sets. Due to our many limitations with deploying specific metadata types between sandbox testing environments and production, it almost rationalized not having a proper internal DevOps process and developing directly into production.

The training and support we received from the Gearset team during onboarding was extensive and very responsive. Due to Gearset's level of detail vs. our former solution, there was a learning curve, although I found their knowledge base quite helpful also. As a growing Salesforce org, I am glad we have transitioned to a formal DevOps process, and the implementation of Gearset was the foundation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gearset DevOps?

Now that I have used Gearset for some time, there seem to be limitations on how the metadata is transferred between environments. Notably, Gearset appears to lack the ability to transfer object settings accurately (EG: email to case, case autoresponse rules) and lightning email templates, for example. It can be frustrating to deploy an object "setting" for something relatively minor like email to case (along with other metadata components for a specific project) and not have one or two things from that package not transfer to the deployment target.

It is also sometimes a bit cumbersome to determine what metadata components are listed under each Gearset "category in the filter before you run the comparison between environments. For example, as a Salesforce Administrator, I have always known objects to be either "standard" (out of the box) or "custom" - The Gearset filter lists all selectable objects under "custom'. Another example is picklist fields - It would be easier to find a specific picklist field without searching for filter categories: custom object, standard value set, and global value set. If these were logically grouped (vs. the default filter of alphabetical), it might be easier to find specific fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
