## Gainsight Customer Communities Reviews
  ### 1. Great community engagement tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Morten N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

the transparency and highlight of what is new, as well as who has engaged with what content is brought to the foreground which invited to further participation by users.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

the management part could be better. Simple features such as having new threads/KBs/aricles on top rather than on bottom would be very nice to have. It is the most frustrating aspect of the product. Also there are many sub forums where you cannot post, unless you go through the management tool. With these things fixed, 10/10

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

both customer engagement, but also peer to peer communication is made possible here. Its our one-to-many communication option which, unlike an email, invites to discussion,

  ### 2. Insided has an excellent online community platform to help accomplish your goals!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kylie H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The Gainsight Digital Hub online community allows you to connect with other community managers and receive many tips and guidelines on implementing initiatives to help accomplish your community goals.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Sometimes I dont receive notifications or updates when there are new events and I want to make sure I hear about all of them.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any questions or problems that I have, I head to the community to look for an answer in the knowledge base. So the community helps guide me to accomplish the tasks I'm set out to do.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you Kylie for your review! We're really happy to hear inSided helped accomplish your goals.

  ### 3. inSided is Incredibly Impactful

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brenna B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

inSided has undoubtedly changed our community strategy for the better. The platform's robust analytics and reporting tools allow us to track and analyze user engagement, measure our content's impact, and identify improvement areas. These insights will enable us to make data-driven decisions that improve our community's overall effectiveness and impact.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The platform's user interface can be confusing and overwhelming for first-time users, and the onboarding process may not be as straightforward as it could be. This can result in a steep learning curve for some users, which may lead to frustration and a slower adoption rate.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InSided helps users self-service their technical issues and get immediate responses from other community members and past respondents rather than waiting for a response from our Customer Service Team. It saves us money and time.

  ### 4. Comprehensive,

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It's easy to navigate, easy to update, easy enough to learn and it pretty much has all the features required to make our Community a Hub for our customers and staff.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The Beta tests are great and easy enough to be a part of, but sometimes they are missing valuable features. That said, the team at Insided are very responsive and receptive to feedback and listening to you. Would benefit from more flexibility with widget placement regarding the structure/layout.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A bug within the campaigns feature was acknowledged within an hour of me posting it and remedied shortly after. When it comes to supporting my internal battles with stakeholders, Insided are always onhand to provide me with the required metrics to prove my case and support the development of the Community.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this review, the team appreciates it!

  ### 5. Insided community in a box

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

1) Useful amount of features out of the box and a quick way to spin up a community without taking on lots of tech debt.
2) Ability to deep link into our react app build and pull forums etc in to that experience.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The events area lacks lots of what I would consider basic features given the cost of the overall platform

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helped us to quickly test the network effects and customer service opportunities of a forum driven community without the need to roll lots of our own tech

  ### 6. A community to impress your customers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rebeca T. | All Things Customer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The community looks sleek and user-friendly. I can really tell when a company is using a best-in-class community vs the more dated versions.

Customers can understand how to use it right away and it has all the levers you'd imagine to run a successful community (gamification, product requests, knowledge management, etc.)

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Overall, the customers are very happy with it so not much to dislike. If I had to pick something, I would like the product to come with more out-of-the-box assets. For example badges, awards to be given, etc.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing all our users togethet to share and learn from one another.
Maintain people up to date with our documentation and latest releases.
Learn from our users on what they would like to see next and delight them.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Hi Rebeca, thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a detailed review. We're glad to have helped bring your users together!

  ### 7. Solid community tool in a crowded space!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

InSided was able to help us get our community up and running quickly. The setup was relatively easy to self-serve, and the support we got from the InSided team was great.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The admin side of things leaves something to be desired. The controls are more complex than other tools I've used in the past.

On the user experience side, I wish there were more out-of-the-box visualization options. You can choose to do almost anything that you'd like if you have the skills or resources to write your own CSS but most community teams don't have access to those resources.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed a tool that would help us drive scaleable one-to-many support and provide a way for our customers to connect and share ideas with other customers in similar verticals or roles. InSided allowed us to set up the digital spaces to create these experiences.

  ### 8. Good but could be more robust

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay Z. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I don't personally have many platforms to compare it to but I like that I am able to complete most of the standard tasks such as posting, answering questions, creating events, badges, points etc.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It covers the basics but it could be more robust and include other features such as marketing and newsletters. There are some features that feel limiting and don't have the best user experience/logic such as building ranks, users subscribing to the events page to name a few experiences I've had.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This is helping our users have another resource to learn about our product better and have more opportunities to ask questions. This alleviates our support queues, improves product and feature adoption and lets people stay up to date on updates and events.

  ### 9. I work as a community admistrator for my company that uses inSided by Gainsight for its digital hub.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Safiya M. | Community Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

As a new community manager, I can say that the inSided platform is new user friendly. It did not take long to understand the platform from the front and back end.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Still limited in certain functionalities when it comes to designing your pages. Also, would like to be able to share gamification like badge earnings to other socials once earned on the platform.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can easily connect with users and partners and have them act as advocates for our products through the community hub.

  ### 10. InSided is an great comprehensive platform for any saas company which wants to build true Community

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Marek B. | COO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Good support, ease of use. Comprehensive capabilities of creating internal spaces for various groups, which helps us streamline groups&topics for our Community members.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

We are not truly happy with communication capabilities, especially since email templates for notifications are pretty limited. Would love to see more capabilities within roadmap/product feedback gathering.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Insided, helped us create an common space for our Customers & Partners to interact with us, but what is equally important interact between each other and drive customer advocacy!

  ### 11. The best Community platform for B2B SaaS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John M. | Customer Experience Programme & Operations Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 31, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The Insided Community platform replies to all basic community features, as you'd expect!
However, it has 3 main killer features that I haven't found anywhere else in Community-land:

- Drag & drop page customization of the home page and easy personalization of all pages. Without having to push some custom code, take time from developers and have a fixed organization of content, the platform offers true flexibility to adapt the way your community is organized in just a few clicks. A large selection of widgets and the possibility to add in custom code will satisfy every community admin.
- The cross-domain search enabling for users to search content throughout the eco-system: blog, help center, university... When using Skilljar and Zendesk, these are just soo easy to implement.
- Not a feature - they leverage their very own platform for community and it is an inspiration for what can be done. A lot of exchange with other community managers and admins!

All in all, very easy to set up!
The team (Vish, Valerie..) is very accessible and helps a lot in the first phase of the journey. On a larger scale, the company is eager for feedback, and to listen to our product requests. In less than a year, had a few calls with their product team.

Extensive API.

Can't wait to leverage some native integrations like Gainsight and Salesforce.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

There a a few things that I would like to see improved on the platform:

The management of groups and events as well as moderation can only be done by admins (people with a seat). As seats are priced, you can't allocate responsibilities to some power users, or other employees to do some part of moderation.

Dashboarding/analytics are okay, not as good as expected.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helpful for peer-to-peer engagement and scaling Customer Success.
By offering the best access to interactive content, our user base feels part of a community they can trust, rely on, learn from...

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> John, thank you for sharing your experience with inSided. We appreciate it!

  ### 12. My experience has been excellent, the software is so easy to use!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

You can do so much with Insided, which is great because it's important to provide updates to our customer community in a variety of ways.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I would love some more emails or notifications on how to level up or best practices for taking your community to the next level. Top tips for using the platform

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a growing UK community in Clio and it's great to have them join in one place.

  ### 13. Easy-to-use, low barriers to entry for backend users and for customers!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica D. | Grove Community Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I love how easy to navigate the platform is, and how intuitive it is when you are looking for a page of analytics and easily digestible data, without having to build out something yourself. It integrates well with so many platforms. And the service provided by Gainsight is AMAZING!!

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I'm waiting for a place for notifications for end users, that way email is not the only reachable notification avenue!

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a centralized location for our self service knowledge base, and a location for our clients to connect and collaborate with their peers, in and environment that is conducive to content and thought leadership.

  ### 14. Love using inSided

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kathryn C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I really enjoy having all our questions in one area for our product. Our users have a voice when using our product. I apprecite the back end of the controls to look at everyone's profiles, badges and gamifications.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I am looking forward to seeing some of the ideas become apart of what we, as users, can do with our platform.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving our consumers a voice in our product and it is wonderful to see our users engaged with the product to give us the use cases. Additionally they teach us something new each day too!

  ### 15. Excellent platform for client communication and ideation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ilanit T. | Product Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The InSided community has helped me as a product manager to easily engage in conversations with clients. The Ideation feature helps me to understand what's considered to be the highest priority by our clients through the voting system. The platform is hugely customizable through labels and tags, which allows us to set it up in a way that truly matches the product. I've found the DM feature to be a great asset when I want to reach out to specific clients outside of my email. It seems as if there are a lot of tools available in the platform to further expand on in the future, but even just starting out with the product, it already adds a great value. This makes the onboarding and time to value very quick, and I believe we will continue to learn more about the platform's functionalities as we progress through it.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The backend of the platform seems overly complicated, compared to the front. I prefer a platform that doesn't require me to really dive in but that behaves like a message board. Thankfully I can use the frontend to answer in threads and go about my business, so that side is more user friendly. Whilst it's great that the platform has so many functionalities, I do feel that it really requires a few dedicated team members to get it up and running and to identify which features are most useful - this could be an obstacle for a smaller organization.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously it was difficult for us to get qualitative feedback on new features in the platform. We didn't have a tool to use for communication purposes in BETA testing and the community has given us that. An added benefit has been that the community makes the BETA trials more collaborative for our clients - instead of sharing 1-1 feedback, they do this as a group and inspire each other to share more in-depth observations.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Ilanit, thank you for taking the time to write up a detailed review! Glad we could help drive peer to peer support.

  ### 16. Great Platform w. Frequent New Features

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kristen G. | Customer Community Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2020

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

inSided is a great platform. For users, it's easy to navigate, and the essential functions you expect in a forum are there - the best answers, likes, comments, etc., are all out of the box. The ideation portal works well too. Comments, likes, and voting are easy to post - and we have a nice integration with Aha for managing our roadmap. While it doesn't host events, just having a list on the site is helpful, and I like the ability to market specific events to groups. I appreciate that it doesn't try to do everything for everyone but focuses on some core functionality and does those well. It's simple to build and customize to look and feel like your brand. They're constantly working on releasing new features - events, groups - and often solicit customer feedback.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

There's nothing I dislike about the platform. Some features would be great for us, but I recognize they are custom requests. We ended up assigning permissions manually (rather than 3rd party validation), which was time-consuming to catch up on but manageable now. I also spend a lot of time trying to surface topics that need a 1st reply, which isn't OOTB. We'd love OOTB integration with other support systems (besides Zendesk). Assigning permissions on a content level rather than a category level would help with the siloing happening on our site. I'd also love to see customizable widgets for featured content lists on the home page. But I don't have any real complaints about it.

**Recommendations to others considering Gainsight Customer Communities:**

If you're looking for an easy to use system for a community that needs the ability to ask questions, have discussions, and submit ideas, this is a BIG contender.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're facilitating Q&A between customers, partners, and employees. We're giving our customers a way to connect - something they didn't have before - and share industry knowledge. We host our Knowledge Base there and are working to drive customers to self-serve instead of open cases. We have a private forum for pre-release beta testing. Insided meets A LOT of needs for our company.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Hi Kristen, thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a detailed review. We're glad to have met your needs!

  ### 17. A great community platform host!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maia D. | Digital Marketing Specialist for Customers, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I love the customization abilities on the platform and the endless integrations that allow us to gain quick visibility on what is going on in the community via a variety of channels and tools.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I wish there were slightly more analytics capabilities when it comes to the InSided backend to better gage the engagement of our clients on the platform.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is enabling our clients to gather on one platform in order to better understand our product, network with each other and find all of our content and upcoming events.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Super great to hear Maia, thanks for your review!

  ### 18. A very rounded platform for community

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathan R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I was the one who chose Insided for our community. A year later, still happy with the choice. It provides all the features we need

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Pace of development is slow. There are some feature requests on their own community that have been there for a long time. They aren't major just good quality of life for users & admins

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

the community is our first line of support, allowing us to document as we support our user's issues.
We also host our documentation there, so it contains everything about our product

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you Nathan for leaving your review! We're happy we could help drive the success of your community.

  ### 19. Thankful for InSided (now Digital Hub)

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

As an admin, DH is extremely intuitive and easy to use. It doesn't take long to get familiar with the backend and the capabilities of the platform. Additionally, their reporting dashboards make it really easy to find the metrics I need. Lastly, the federated search functionality is incredible!

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

While their reporting dashboards are useful, I wish we could drill deeper down into the numbers from the dashboards without having to run an export and manually cut and slice the data.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using DH allows us to bring our users together in a central place so they can interact and learn from each other. We can also determine what content users are looking for so we can create it.

  ### 20. A solid platform with some frustrating limitations

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex D. | Senior Community Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

There are a lot of easy ways to customize the platform, ranging from changing phrases to custom CSS. The API and available integrations have been a game changer for automating moderation processes.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The UI is sometimes frustrating and unintuitive. For example, every time I change the date range in analytics it takes me 2-3 attempts because it doesn't seem to stick! Some tasks take more clicks than necessary, for example not being able to mark a post as spam when you're in the post in the admin view.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing customers with a public platform to ask questions and get answers builds an online repository of knowledge that other customers can use. This provides the opportunity for customers to self-serve thus deflecting support tickets and saving money.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Hi Alex - thanks so much for taking the time to leave this review, your feedback will be shared with our team.

  ### 21. The platform is very user friendly

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Savannah D. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I like the federated search aspect of the InSided Online community. Helps with self service very much .

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I think having a easier way to display or section off where customers can find a certain topic if it is old and said it will be found on the community.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A one stop shop place to find not only an online community but a knowledge base and integrated with salesforce.

  ### 22. Decent Platform- Excited for Potential

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicholas B. | Active Policy Voter, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It seems pretty customizable and is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Emails from insided are consistently blocked by our users spam filters, a critical problem that I hope they can help fix.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A place for our customers and users to ask questions and gain insight from other users without having to rely on MX. Still working on gaining an actual community, but I believe it will get there!

  ### 23. Great community platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Johann D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The first thing that pops when I think about inSided is the way they've been aside us for everything that concerns our community. We had a really good and humanly support, and that's something really helpful for this subject.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I can't think about one, or maybe the fact that they didn't provide someone speaking French...

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any questions regarding the community platform they provided us with.

  ### 24. A ride full of entertainment and excellent support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Music | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 30, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I like the people and how helpful they are when I need support on anything, either incidents/problems or anything to improve my own Community.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

not much to dislike, I am happy so far with the info, tips and help I can get.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improvements in the homepage and experimenting with different options for user engagement. Primary benefit is for users with a clear ideation forum, FAQ's and Knowledge base, among other things.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for taking the time to write up such a great review. Our team is happy to help support!

  ### 25. Platform with huge functionality

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I was involved in the implementation process of setup the platform. I can say that it is easy to configure any step of each phase, starting with internal Insided console authentication methods like identity providers, SSO, etc., ending backed, branding, or content creation.
The customer Success team was very helpful and responsible on time.
The implementation process was fully organized by individual tasks in Asana, with detailed mention of which part must be done by Insided's end, which by the customer, with all necessary articles and documentation.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

During implementation, Insided provided us with unlimited Admin seats for configuration, and it was very helpful in scheduling tasks between the company's core teams.
But, after launching, the number of seats was limited to Admin seats for the console, and additional seats were available for an extra cost. I dislike it because I disagree that provided limited seats are enough to support and manage the community platform, and spending extra money for admins (the expensive price) is not applicable.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is difficult to answer for me because I am more tech administrator and set up the platform, but I am not using the community in regular basics, like our customers.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback!

  ### 26. Comfortable and UI Friendly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It is user friendly. Very comfortable to use and simple. inSided offers a space for us to share their experiences, insights, and knowledge. This integration enables us to leverage our existing workflows and gather valuable insights from community data.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Pricing is definitely a pain point for us. Some users may find the platform initially complex or require a learning curve to understand its full capabilities and features.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used it as a community portal where users will be able to post their queries and get them answered from our tech experts about our product. And yes our business performance has increased well.

  ### 27. So fun! So Easy!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lisa Z. | Account Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Being new to the 'tech' industry, I have had a lot to learn, and using inSided has been so incredibly easy to use. There are so many options, so much flexibility and the ability to tailor to your needs.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

My initial thoughts are nothing ... but since I must say something, I will say that the number of admins allowed in our package has been a little challenging at times but really not a bid deal.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are pretty new to the tool but are using it for a couple reasons. One, to get our customers connected with one another and two, to more quickly get customers the answer and support that they need.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Great to hear, Lisa! Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review.

  ### 28. Core functionality is solid but needs more to be best in breed

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It's relatively easy to configure and get Admins up and running with the software and the online community of users are smart and helpful, so it's great to be able to engage with them and leverage their experience.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

We're a software company with a large family of products and we find that some of the functionality we need to deliver an ideal client experience just aren't present in the product. When we log them as ideas, even though they receive numerous upvotes from other clients that they, too, would like to see the enhancements we request, we just don't see progress. We've had one "deal breaker" enhancement request in the queue for a year now -- Insided says the enhancement is needed, numerous clients on the Insided Community have weighed in to say it's vital for them, too...time and again we've been told it's in "the next sprint" only to have nothing materialize. We've even met with members of the Product team to explain the critical need for the functionality we've requested -- again, they agreed with the need, but a year later, no progress is made. It's very disappointing.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our clients love having a place where they can peer-share their knowledge and use cases and share best practices. Insided is easy for them to use and eliminates barriers to them engaging by being very straightforward and easy to understand as a user.

  ### 29. A great Customer Community Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Events Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I really like the fact that it is easy to create different subjects (community/content/ideation/academy etc) in a very easy, informative, and clear matter. It's customizable to our brand which really creates that customer community that we strive for. I also particularly like our CSM who is always very helpful and can think outside the box when it's needed. This definitely makes our experience much nicer when someone is proactive and really thinks about how we can optimize the platform in a better way.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I find the reporting options a bit limited. There are some (in my opinion) basic data points I would like to get better reporting on, but it's not possible to extract these reports from the platform. Most of the time there are some workarounds, but I feel it would make my life easier if there would be a more sophisticated reporting dashboard. Especially as upper management would like to see these as well and it currently requires quite a lot of manual work to do this.
I also think the back end could use some modernization in terms of look and feel :)

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use InSided as our Customer Knowledge base and also to create a community for our customers to join discussions, ask questions, submit product ideas and find all the latest info on product updates and releases, so in that sense it's a very important recourse for our customers.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you so much for the feedback. We really appreciate it!

  ### 30. inSided empowers our customers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tym A. | Principal Technical Support Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

inSided allows our customers to assist one another, increasing their loyalty to our Product. Think about it- once you start evangelizing about a product or providing basic Support for a product, you're way more likely to advocate for its continued use. inSided gives our customers space to provide strategic and technical support to fellow customers, making them more loyal to our product and more empowered to enhance their usage of our product.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

In our initial setup, we experienced some issues with creating Zendesk tickets on behalf of customers from the inSided UI. We've got the hang of it now, but having more guidance on setting up this integration would have been fantastic.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

From a Support perspective, inSided encourages our customers to self-serve and to assist their peers as well. It decreases our ticket creation numbers, which lends us more time to focus on the tickets that do land in our queue.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for your review, Tym! We're so happy that inSided is making your life easier!

  ### 31. Insided is good... depending on what you want.

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Insided is an easy-to-use platform that allows customers to interact and have conversations easily. I like that the platform will enable you to develop on top of it so that you can customize and make it an extension of your brand. The backend is simple to navigate, and basic analytics are quick to get.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Insided is exceptionally behind on some core functionality that would help us drive outcomes through the community. For example, being able to email community members to get them re-engaged. I also wish that it provided more ways to drive acts of customer advocacy and to gamify customer behaviors. Unfortunately, every time we bring up missing features, we get a very vague "it's on the roadmap" with zero commitment to when they will deliver it. I had hoped that under Gainsight's leadership, they would have the resources to innovate and deliver faster, but that hasn't transpired.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A centralized community for our customers to network, learn from each other, attend events, and engage with our brand. It's easy for the team to use and engage members.

  ### 32. Customer Success Operations Analyst

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I really love that it syncs with our other platforms to allow us to analyze and gather insights faster. Our customers are more engaged than they ever have been and are experiencing dynamic growth of the self-help community. We also love the feature for customers to give feedback and request features and for us to show product team the ARR value of these requests because it is synced with salesforce.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Could be more options without custom HTML

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows our customers to problem solve and engage with our product through community in a scalable way

  ### 33. Creates and Establishes a Great Foundation

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tracy W. | Web Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The ease of creating the building blocks of your community is really well articulated and easy to create on Insided. From creating a point system for gamification to a structure and resources for the users to use it encompasses the foundation of building community.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

While the widgets provide a really great stepping stone, there isn't a ton of customization you can do with the widgets themselves to differentiate yourself from other insided experiences

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A platform for customers to share product ideas and conversate outside of social media. It creates a space where we can help support while also educating our users and help them find other connections.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks Tracy for your review and feedback!

  ### 34. Easy to implement & user friendly community engagement platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The implementation process and assistance were a great help so there was minimal involvement needed from our technical team. The administration of the platform is able to be done by our community manager. We've had some great momentum in community since we launched it. It seems that our users find it easy to get started and engage with one another.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

We got SSO setup using our application login but some of the documentation wasn't as helpful as it could have been and our implementation specialist wasn't as knowledgeable as would have been helpful.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our customers were often going to outside platforms like Facebook to engage with one another. With Insided, we're able to provide a native way for our customers to engage with one another and help one another. Our eventual goal is to reduce 1:1 support by providing peer-to-peer support through the community.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you for your review! We're so happy we could help drive the success of your community.

  ### 35. Simple to use, and great support!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

inSided has been very simple to use and customize. We're in the early stages of implementation, and it's very easy to see how fast we'll be able to launch and find value in the platform. I've also been impressed with their support and onboarding teams and ease of integration with Zendesk, Salesforce, and Zapier.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

We've run into a few small things that I'd like to be able to customize (hiding a page, customizing share images for social promotion). But, these are all minor in the grand scheme of things! I haven't hit any major roadblocks yet that will significantly impact our ability to use the platform.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're in the early phases, but we hope inSided will help us manage a SaaS community that drives success at scale and provides opportunities for our users to connect and thrive in their careers.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for taking the time to write up such a great review. Glad we can help drive your success!

  ### 36. Concise and customizable

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

the upsides are the quickly available templates that can get a person started almost immediately plus the super responsive Support team who are always aroundto help.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The lack of co-build options is a bit of a let-off. A more aggressive CS approach to understand the usage and feedback would have helped us during the times of lean usage.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The presence of an external community is important to drive organic growth and increase chatter about the product. The visibility has increased to my knowledge since the time we launched.

  ### 37. Community content hub

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carla L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The Community is structured like a content library. It looks beautiful and creates various spaces for engagement.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The search functionality can be tricky, especially if you have an older Community, unearthing content from 10 years ago that's not always relevant.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Customer engagement
- Knowledge management
- Product releases and updates

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you Carla for sharing your experience with inSided!

  ### 38. Hands On Supportive Team

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Maggie S. | PMM, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The team was extremely supportive throughout our deployment. It was our first community build out and the team tailored the onboarding and deployment to our needs

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

There are some backend features that need to be added and additional analytics that would help us when reporting out to the larger business.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our community platform built on InSided is helping our customers get their questions answered faster and help themselves before they need to submit a ticket. They also can engage with their peers, something that was not possible before our community was built.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Great to hear, Maggie! Thanks for your support of inSided!

  ### 39. Senior Communications Specialist

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Telecommunications | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The support is the best. They are always there when I need them. They still reach out even when it's out of there times zones.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I wish there was a little more flexibility with customization with logging in.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One problem. Is when you're deleting items and putting them into the trash. Sometimes the program crashes and doesn't work until you refresh the page. It takes a couple of tries, but it does work eventually.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this review, the team appreciates it.

  ### 40. Admin

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yaki B. | BA Director, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Best practice and out of the box solutions in the community, Insided hace many integrations and we can work with it and with external app, very easy to configure

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

missing some reporting capabilities, API/integration - when you want to get it to the next level - more complex. UI - great UI/UX with your brand but can't change everything

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Connect our customers together, find more content on our products, leader voards, social between Yotpo employees and our customes (even a few users per customer)

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Hi Yaki, thanks for taking the time to share your perspective of inSided!

  ### 41. Great flexibility to be a central site, community, and knowledge base all-in-one.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The ability to create content and give that ability to others in the team, without having to rely on engineering or a web designer. Additionally, the ability to link events and creat groups to have working LMS systems for clients who don't have the bandwidth to create their own.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The learning curve can still be a little higher for those teams that want to add integrations or other more complex features. Though I do not dislike the feature itself to add integrations, it is more a nice to have, a way to make it even easier.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It adds another avenue for customer support and access to an expansive knowledge base for our products that were previously not easily accessible to them before.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you for the review. We really appreciate it!

  ### 42. Easy to use and easy to customize

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I really like how easy it was to get up and running with Insided. Our internal teams can easily customize the experience to match our brand and we have the flexibility to add features and functionality that might not necessarily come out of the box. The CSM has also been responsive and has helped escalate our ideas on the product roadmap.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The salesforce integration is a bit hit-and-miss for us at times, but overall it still works the way we need it to.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is providing us with a one-stop shop self-service customer experience for us. We used to have different platforms for training, knowledgebase, support, and product updates and now we have one central location and more with Insided.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for your feedback and review!

  ### 43. Flexible and powerful community platform

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John K. | Product, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 22, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It's a modern community platform with many administrative features along with integration capabilities such as SSO, Slack, and the ability to create custom integrations.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It's a little tedious to set up and users would benefit from a more guided experience either through the Insided team or a self-guided portal--especially for the integrations.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're setting up a user community for our customers' users to post questions, find answers and share their experience and best practices when using our platform.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Hi John - thanks for taking the time to leave this review, your feedback will be shared with our team.

  ### 44. A great software to get your community up and running!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jonathan Z. | Community Strategist, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I like how easy it is to navigate our community on the backend. Out of the box, Insided provides a variety of tool that makes community management, writing articles and creating events super easy.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

I do wish we had more customization and the ability to mass message our community members.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to provide a space for our customers to seek resources, and events and communicate with each other versus always having to connect with their CSMs or help center.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Super great to hear Jonathan, thanks for your review!

  ### 45. A great platform to stay in touch with your customers.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Semir J. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

It's easy to use and doesn't add much overhead with other tools in our stack to stay in touch. Really happy with it.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The product is reliable. I think a bit more advanced search functionality would be useful and deeper integration with Salesforce or Slack. But beyond that it's pretty solid.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Staying close to our customers, capturing ideas and potential for improvements in process or product.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Semir, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Glad we could help you stay in touch with your customers!

  ### 46. Very good User Management; room for Improvement for Events

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hanna B. | Community development & Content creator, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Best: Engagement and Badges; easy to setup posts

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Event Platform: not many items to change and less gadgets to work with

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Customer Engagement, User Management, Self Serv

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks Hanna, for your feedback and review!

  ### 47. A good product.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The product is easy to use.
The UI is clean and reader friendly.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Some more features should be there to make it more engaging.
Ease of editing the graphics will be helpful

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to publish the common issues faced with the product and share the link to others or refer them to use the portal for quick resolution notes.

  ### 48. InSided's platform has a lot of potential, but lacks in easy customization

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 17, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

We've built a "one-stop-shop" resource for our customers, which InSided's platform has helped with. Getting the site published using the inherent modules and widgets in the system was straightforward. It provided a good starting point for creating the community we thought would support our customer base. The Control backend for admins is also reasonably easy to navigate for the basics, including approving users, adding and moderating content, and viewing analytics.

The team at InSided is also open to feedback, providing opportunities to meet with their product managers.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

The functionality of InSided's platform is limited. If you want to do anything beyond the few widgets and modules they offer in the out-of-the-box setup, HTML and CSS are required to get it to your specifications. I would like additional nesting options in the Knowledge Base to organize support articles, video tracking to host e-learning videos in the same platform as the Knowledge Base, more buttons, and more customizability around "phrases" used across the site.

One of the most frustrating pieces is user management. You have to add users to a spreadsheet, download it, then upload it to InSided to invite them to the community instead of adding users directly with their email address. It is also limiting that user invites cannot be resent as users often miss their first invite. After their first invite, we cannot send them an email invite and must direct them to register manually. I have heard that user management will be updated, so I'm hopeful this process will be modernized soon.

I also think InSided missed the mark by not having an advocacy portion of a community. Having a dedicated place for challenges with a points system tracked per act of advocacy would be ideal, but there is nothing for this in InSided. I have set up challenges, but it's all manual through posts that could be much better done.

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's solving a lack of centralized resources, including a Knowledge Base of product support articles. These Knowledge Base articles help us to answer FAQs, which has in turn reduced support tickets.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thanks for your review and feedback. Many of your feedback is already in progress or on our roadmap. We offer a no-code page builder to make real-time customization possible, without any help from developers. We are continuously updating our widget library and customization options to further allow customers to do this, but we’d love to engage with you to learn which customizations you’d like to make specifically without any CSS overrides.

Apart from customization, we are actively improving user management by adding more filters, allowing you to segment users and apply bulk actions. We’re also looking to improve our invites functionality next year, and we learn more about your pain points. If you reach out to your CSM, we would be more than happy to organize a session together with our product managers.

  ### 49. Helped us re-launch our community on a new level

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarka K. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Clean design that easily allowed us to customize to our branding

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Missing integration with streaming events (e.g. zoom), gamification would need improvements, impossible to generate email newsletters

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Online community platform

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> That's great to hear, Sarka! Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback.

  ### 50. InSided platform has helped us tremendously. Very intuitive to set up and customize.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Inisides support team is fast responding and extremely helpful. Customizing the platform to fit your companys brand is easy (plug and play).
One of the biggest reason why we pick Insided is their federate search capabilities and the embeddable. This helps our current clients get all the information they needs quickly.

**What do you dislike about Gainsight Customer Communities?**

Reporting has been a struggle for us with using this platform. Also, not having a way to email our current community members within the platform outside of the automated emails (e.g newsletter).

**What problems is Gainsight Customer Communities solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Engagine with our current customers. Being able to share best practices, tips and tricks, and allowing our customer to callborate with each other, and learn from each other.
Also, gamification and ideation.

**Official Response from Katherine Schulte:**

> Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review!
