## Gain Reviews
 ### 1. Easy to Navigate with Stellar Onboarding, but Notifications and Integrations Need Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

It has a really accessible interface, and I find it very easy to navigate the platform. The access license is relatively affordable for the level of data that I am receiving. The onboarding was phenomenal - Abe hopped on a call and walked me through everything. I haven't used much of the AI tools yet, so cannot comment, but overall I think the customer support has been the best.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

While Gain solves a real problem for content approvals, there are a few friction points. The email notification system can become noisy and hard to manage across multiple client accounts. The mobile experience also lags behind the desktop version, which is frustrating for on-the-go use. Additionally, integration options with other tools in the marketing stack are more limited than competitors. For the price, I'd expect a more robust analytics dashboard and greater flexibility in setting up multi-step approval workflows

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like that I do not need to build any table/spreadsheet to manage all the companies and information. It gives me a simple, intuitive interface to review content, which means fewer delays. The organisational help has been great!

 ### 2. Rich Data and Deal Intelligence That Integrates Seamlessly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy H. | PArtner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Many things. The dataset is rich and very large. The introduction of the journalist aspects for intelligence on deal activity is very useful for our work. Plus, the ability to make confidential notes for only people in my organisation means it is a very powerful tool for us, integrating well with our internal systems.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

There isn't a lot really. The fact the Watchlists are in alphabetical order and can't be structured is a little annoying

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helping identify assets that might be coming to market, who is involved in the deal and who buyers might be. This enables us to initiate the right conversations with the right people with a view to selling our services

 ### 3. Great sourced private financials in Excel, but US private company coverage needs work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kees F. | M&A Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

My favorite part about using Gain is the ability to pull financials on private companies and have the sources included directly in the Excel file. This is a big improvement over other applications that provide private market data but don’t include the underlying source, which makes the information essentially unusable if you can’t track it down on your own.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

The most frustrating thing about Gain, in my view, is the lack of private market data for US companies. It’s definitely useful when I’m pulling information for many European companies, but it would be much better if there were more usable data for US-based private companies as well—especially data that isn’t just AI estimates.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main problem Gain solves for me is saving time. When I’m pulling financials on private companies, Gain not only provides the information in an easily analysable format, but also includes the sources. That removes what is arguably the most tedious step in the research process; after that, all that’s left is to audit the sources to make sure they’re trustworthy, which they generally are.

 ### 4. Gain is user-friendly tool that is great for market landscapes and information on specific companies

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Gain is very user friendly. You can easily search for a company, then move to reviewing the whole market and recent transactions without getting lost. If you want to explore players in a category, there are also a lot of search filters to apply to show a very specific yet thorough selection of companies.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Some people might appreciate the AI-assumed financials, but I don’t find them helpful. Maybe certain outfits value them, but I worry that a made-up number will stick in my mind, so I’d rather not see it at all.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before I started using Gain, creating profiles took a lot more time. Now, for the most part, I can complete them using only what Gain has gathered, instead of hunting through multiple websites and other locations.

 ### 5. All-in-One Private Company Intelligence with Deep Profiles and Deal Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Investment Banking | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 03, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Gain puts all relevant information about private companies in one place. You can review peers as well as precedent transactions. In many cases, there is also a comprehensive company profile covering financials, the business model, the ownership structure, past M&A transactions and advisors, market information, etc. The platform also provides access to potential investors in the sector, which helps identify an initial set of potential buyers and strategic candidates.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Currently, I find that some company profiles are missing, and for the ones that are available there often isn’t much information to review. The financial information is frequently incomplete as well, which makes it puzzling to understand the company’s true size. Overall, the platform would be more useful if it included more public market data as a one-stop shop, so you don’t have to go to CapIQ or Mergermarket to do additional research.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It offers a comprehensive set of potential buyers (trade vs. financial sponsors) and also provides a quick overview of a company, its business model, peers, multiples, and relevant transactions in the sector. In addition, I can find more information about M&A activity and keep track of what’s happening across different industries. As an M&A advisor, I find Gain to be a helpful platform that makes an analyst’s or associate’s work smoother and more efficient.

 ### 6. Intuitive UI/UX, strong filters & sourcing lists with detailed company financials

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Venture Capital & Private Equity | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I really like the range of companies covered. I find the ability to filter by sub-segments and create sourcing lists from them particularly helpful. Also, the general UI/UX is, in my view, very well done and pleasant to use. The AI chatbot is practical because you can easily prompt what you are looking for. Additionally, I am impressed by the level of detail in the financials and the information about the companies.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I find the AI-generated financials not very helpful yet and partly also very inaccurate. Small businesses with revenues under 5 million should be covered more extensively, as this would be particularly helpful for buy-and-build strategies in sourcing.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use it for topic-based sourcing activities as well as for the initial outside-in work on specific companies.

 ### 7. Simplifies Research with Intuitive Insights, tracks deals, great UX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I think Gain's simplicity and easy user interface make it intuitive, and the layout is great. The way it populates information allows me to jump around quickly. I also appreciate the ability to create watch lists, and the insights are up to date. I like the deal tracking feature and find it very useful. It's like a one-stop shop for all the information, and everything is validated, which makes it really simple. Plus, there are plugins into the desktop app and other CRM aspects. The initial setup was very easy and seamless. The platform speaks for itself, and it's been very useful and interesting to use.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I think the AI needs some enhancing. You know, being able to talk about a subsector and understanding who's there, what companies are there, is somewhat useful. Then there's the people element, trying to figure out the people, and I know that’s in beta mode, but trying to get information on people from industries is pivotal to the job.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain makes research easy and fast. I can quickly gather detailed info about companies, industries, and ownership. It's useful for static information and offers predictive insights into private equity trends.

 ### 8. Efficient Financial Insights with Simple UI

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I like Gain for its simple user interface and the overview it provides of company performance, including benchmark options. It quickly gives me access to information that I need for my daily work on tech transactions, which would otherwise take longer to find.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I find it problematic when the information is AI-generated, even though I understand it's necessary when data isn't available. It would be helpful to fill these gaps, particularly concerning ownerships, revenue, and EBITDA.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain provides quick access to financial data, saving time that would otherwise be spent searching. Its simple interface and benchmarking options help analyze company performance for our commercial due diligence on tech transactions.

 ### 9. Reliable Financial Data, Seamless Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Arthur P. | Investment Team, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I love using the Gain plugin for Google Chrome because it allows me to pull up a sidebar when I'm on a website, making it a really seamless experience. This browser-based tool is super handy because without it, I would have to keep the Gain platform open in a different tab or window and switch back and forth. Being able to click the GainPro icon and get all the relevant information natively in the browser saves me a ton of time. Additionally, the initial setup of Gain was super easy and straightforward. When it comes to finding financial information, especially about European companies, Gain is the most reliable source, making it invaluable for identifying which companies are worth pursuing.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I don't like the AI numbers and the way they've tried to put in predictive financials just because in my experience, companies' numbers are often pretty different from what you think they are if you just try to guess. I would almost encourage the team if they don't have certified financials, or financial data that's in some way linked back just to a press release or something, that they don't put in these predictive financials because I don't think they're very reliable or helpful. And they've improved on this, but at one point, it wasn't clear which numbers were AI generated and which weren't.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain helps me identify which companies are worth pursuing by providing reliable financial and ownership data, mainly in Europe. It also helps eliminate companies not meeting our criteria and lets us discover new opportunities.

 ### 10. Streamlines Financial Screening with Ease

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Othmane D. | Market Intelligence Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I like Gain's user-friendly interface. It helps us save time, especially when we have tight deadlines and urgent client deliverables. I appreciate the updates and Gen AI estimates, as they help us with proxy revenues and proprietary information that we use for screening deals like mergers and acquisitions or due diligence. Having updates on company deals, new filings, news updates, acquisitions, and mergers is very helpful. The AI estimates provide a sense check on small companies where information is hard to find on the web, giving insights like estimated revenue and number of employees. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy. Whenever there’s an update, we get a notification with a tutorial to help us understand the new features.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Sometimes I struggle with finding financials or information for certain subsidiaries. I got in touch once before with their support, and they said they only screened the top level. So in most cases, the parent companies. And they don't focus as much on subsidiaries, sometimes minuscule slash small players.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain solves screening issues for public companies with limited available findings. I like the user-friendly interface which saves time on deadlines. Updates keep me informed about deals and filings, and Gen AI estimates assist with proxy revenues and insights on small companies.

 ### 11. Excellent Dashboards That Save Time & Increase Your Efficiency

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dr. Victor S. | Summer Internship, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Speed and efficiency gains to have a dashboard in only a few seconds. Saves me 5-10 min internet research.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Some of the querries do not work well. Some AI querries are inacurate specially when you trinagulate the data with other sources. There is a lot of room fro improvement here

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Efficiency of research speed.
Fast screening.
Connection with Claude

 ### 12. Intuitive Platform That Keeps Us Ahead

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christy H. | Partner, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I love Gain for its speed of response to queries, which is crucial for having client calls on short notice and quickly seeing any recent and relevant news. I also appreciate the ability to set up watchlists with predetermined filters that can save me time and remain dynamic over time. Its intuitive setup and ease of use make it very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I think the development of an AI interface to ask questions would be welcome. Also, getting a view on which investors are likely to be interested in a certain company in a transaction would be useful.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Gain to quickly access company portfolios and news, helping me stay relevant with clients. It solves the problem of rapidly retrieving updates and tracking potential acquisitions. Dynamic watchlists and quick query responses are extremely valuable for staying informed on specific sectors and regions.

 ### 13. Intuitive Platform with Powerful Predictive Insights

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Heather M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I love the predictive pieces in Gain that allow me to see an estimate on when a PE firm might be looking to exit a portfolio company; this feature has been super useful in facilitating more introductions for our services. I also find the deal-related information awesome and appreciate having contact information and news all within one easy-to-use platform. The platform is super intuitive and the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

I think being a US company, there isn't as much deal information. I think there have been inconsistencies or missing data for US deals whether pre-launch, bidding etc.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain helps me with market intelligence, deal pipeline, and ownership info in private equity, solving gaps in who to contact for marketing. It keeps me updated on deals and news, helping track target companies closely.

 ### 14. Marketing tool for consulting partners

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Ease of use, comprehensiveness of data, multiple abilities to use data (e.g., company profiles, building list views)

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Some missing data connectivity, especially being able to easily create lists of companies associated with the same investor representative to tailor outreach

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain solves two key problems - creating a fact-based comprehensive view of my marketplace and facilitating processes that make my sales efforts more effective, especially meeting prep and creating comparisons between companies that can identify challenges I can solve

 ### 15. Strong market intel platform for consultants/ advisors

 ### 16. Gain Delivers Strong Financial Overviews and Competitor Insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

We primarily use Gain for preparing prospect research and compiling buyer lists. Gain provides particularly strong financial overviews of companies, as well as robust competitor analyses. The platform is user-friendly, and we benefit from strong customer support through Wynona, our dedicated account manager.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

The pricing of Gain is relatively high and could be more competitive. In addition, not all (smaller) companies are listed on the platform.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gain provides us with access to a substantial company database, including associated financials. It often features international buyers with whom we do not (yet) have an existing relationship.

 ### 17. Essential Data for Dutch SMEs—Great for IMs, Valuations, and Pitching

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jim E. | Manager Corporate Finance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Data for Dutch SMEs and sectors. We use it to create IMs, and also for valuations and acquisition pitches.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

To be honest, there’s nothing specific I can point to. It just works really well.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I like the fact that Gain is constantly improving the software, with all the new tools

 ### 18. Comprehensive Data and Easy Setup, Awaiting More Integrations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Niklas K.

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

I really enjoy the breadth of data that Gain.pro offers. The team is very responsive, which is great. I appreciate the good coverage of the DACH market and the European market. Having available KPIs, especially related to revenues and profitability, is very useful. I also value their strong industry classifications. The broad database enables us to filter out all relevant companies easily, focusing on profitability and size KPIs. This helps us because we have a very narrow set of criteria for relevant companies. Additionally, we switched from SourceScrub to Gain.pro because it has much better coverage of relevant metrics and companies. The market reports are much deeper, and the coverage of M&A advisers and transactions is comprehensive. The initial setup was very easy too.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

We currently still wait for the affinity integration, which is hopefully solved by the team soon. Currently this sis solved by manual upload, which is also great, and we appreciate that. And also, we are still waiting for the LP database. We currently do not use Gain.pro with other tools, given the lack of integrations.

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Gain.pro as a single source of truth for all relevant data, which helps with company shortlisting, investor searches, M&A transaction screening, and industry fair preparation.

 ### 19. Simpel en practical, with interesting proprietary data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 07, 2026

**What do you like best about Gain?**

Simplicity (UI/UX) and web-browser plug-in (Integrations) and proprietary data on live deals (intelligence). Gain is really practical and easy to use.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Pricing/ROI is expensive, transaction data (deal info) per specific company is not extensive enough (info per deal, and past deals)

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick access to an overview of company data, helps me to increase efficiency when researching companies. Proprieatary data gives me an edge in converstations.

 ### 20. Comprehensive Data and Intuitive UI Mark a Seamless Experience

Live asset tracking.

There is honestly very little to dislike. However, content on publicly listed company is not on par yet with its other coverage

**What problems is Gain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

All relevant and essential data accessible in place, making many other databases reduntant

**What do you like best about Gain?**

In a nutshell, I would describe Gain.pro as a platform that falls in between Crunchbase and Bloomberg, positioned as the richest source of sizeable private company information. Within seconds, one has access to curated company profiles and in-depth industry research constructed by local, top-tier young professionals.

I worked with the platform from the perspective of an investor; as such sourcing is the engine of our operations and accurate & up-to-date information is key. Gain.pro has become an indispensable tool for my investment research. Please allow me to share my experiences with this remarkable platform.

One of the standout features of Gain.pro is the in-depth and high-quality company information it provides. Whether you're analyzing a well-established corporation or a promising scale-up, Gain.pro offers a plethora of data and insights that go far beyond the shallow ‘scraping’ phase. Their comprehensive company profiles offer an in-depth analysis of financials (e.g. manual consolidations, or the gathering of financial input that go beyond formal reporting), competitors, ownership structure, and much more. I found the information to be highly reliable and extremely valuable for quickly making informed investment decisions.

Another aspect that sets Gain.pro apart is its commitment to industry research. The platform goes beyond providing just raw data, offering in-depth reports and analyses on 100's of industries. What impressed me was their approach to interviewing industry leaders and experts to gather firsthand insights. This ensures that the research is not only based on data but also incorporates the perspectives of those at the forefront of their respective sectors. This added layer of expertise adds immense credibility to the reports, enabling investors to take an early view on sectors to make well-rounded assessments.

The user interface of Gain.pro is intuitive and user-friendly. Navigating through the platform is a breeze, thanks to its well-organized sections and easy-to-use search functionality.

Furthermore, Gain.pro offers a range of powerful tools that augment the investment research process. From financial statement analysis to peer benchmarking and trend tracking, the platform equips users with the necessary tools to conduct thorough assessments and comparisons. These features empower investors to delve deeper into the performance and prospects of companies, aiding in making well-informed decisions.

Lastly, what impressed me about Gain.pro is the commitment to maintaining a current and up-to-date database. In a rapidly evolving business landscape, it's crucial to have access to the latest information, and to date Gain.pro delivers on this front. Their dedication to continuously updating company profiles, financials and industry reports ensures that users always have access to the most recent insights.

In conclusion, Gain.pro is an exceptional platform that offers a wealth of valuable information and research for investors. With its rich, high-quality, and up-to-date company information, in-depth industry reports based on interviews with industry leaders, and an array of powerful tools, Gain.pro has become an invaluable resource in my investment journey. Beyond Private Equity, I also see great use cases in M&A or Consulting. If you are working in these sectors, I strongly encourage to explore Gain.pro and unlock the power of comprehensive company insights.

**What do you dislike about Gain?**

Gain.pro has demonstrated great potential in providing comprehensive company and industry insights. To further enhance its appeal, my first suggestion is for Gain.pro to broaden its curated profiles beyond Europe, allowing for a more global perspective and wider range of companies accessible on the platform.

Moreover, as Gain.pro expands, it is vital to maintain a strong focus on data accuracy and timeliness. By allocating sufficient resources to ensure the integrity of the data, Gain.pro can provide users with reliable and up-to-date information, striking a harmonious balance between platform expansion and data quality.
