It is really easy and very fast to use Frontline to schedule my own absences, reason for leave, and assign a substitute if possible. I like that it eliminates a need to contact my supervisors directly and work out the details, but also that they can edit if something changes during my absence or I need assistance. I have been using Frontline for a while now. It has a simple interface, and I can gather the info I need quickly. As a building principal, I appreciate how frontline communicates with me. I know who is absent the next day and if that person is covered or not. That is a massive time saver in the morning when you see what you are walking into that morning. There isn't much to dislike here. There is no connection to any substitute services. That would be quite a benefit to have the two groups communicating automatically behind the scenes so coverages can occur before notification of absences that need to be covered. Although you can attach sub plans, it would be much easier if there was more space for text within the platform. There is a very small character limit for typing instructions.
