## FreeCAD Reviews
  ### 1. Its Awesome and its Free

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Noel F. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2018

**What do you like best about FreeCAD?**

the best thing about freecad is that its free. in the world where other cad software such as AutoCAD cost a lot this is one of the best alternative solutions. the program is simple and i finding a simple learning curve to the program. also the program doesn't need a lot of memory or CPU to run smoothly.this program doesn't have all the features and quality of other CAD software but for mechanical designing, this is a great tool. the interface of the software is simple enough and not too complicated. it supports multiple operating systems and so many people can take advantage of it. path module is another part i liked about the software. while designing mechanical or electrical circuits i can see its working and easily make adjustments wherever its necessary. there are also many build is models to get you going at first,

**What do you dislike about FreeCAD?**

the features are too limited for complicated designing. it's very hard to get textures and fine details while designing in freeCAD. the addons available for the program is very limited. as its a free software the support is not good enough, there are many forums but you cant run to someone for an immediate help

**Recommendations to others considering FreeCAD:**

the program is free to use and got enough features to get you going. try and find for yourself

**What problems is FreeCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?**

freeCAD is a designing software. i used it to design mechanical and electrical circuits. the software is free so its worth it.

  ### 2. All the capabilities for free

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2018

**What do you like best about FreeCAD?**

FreeCAD is a creative commons software which will allow you to create all the 3D models you need. In fact , with freecad you can do vectorial analisis that you cannot do with other expensive applications. One of the capabilities that i use the most is the recognition of .stl file to editable models.

**What do you dislike about FreeCAD?**

The start of use FreeCAD is difficult because is not very intuitive as other 3D application. Nevertheless, as soon as you get us to the FreeCAD is quite simple to use it.

**Recommendations to others considering FreeCAD:**

Is a creative commons software so the support in the internet is impressive

**What problems is FreeCAD solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use for desing 3D models and convertion of stl files

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2016

**What do you like best about FreeCAD?**

open source and free, it's an alternative to Solidworks and Catia for simple use, more modules have to be implemented but as an open source software it can be hard to do it, so do not count on it. perfect to learn CAD because it's free and run the same way as any other CAD software run. good base.

**What do you dislike about FreeCAD?**

the fact that it's open source is a bit annoying because the team does not have planning for each version so you have to wait for functions to be implemented.

**Recommendations to others considering FreeCAD:**

a real alternative to major as Catia or Solidworks in their simple function but a great alternative for learning principles of CAD software. and much more, it's free.
