**Reviewed by:** Vishal P. | Software Test Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 17, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

There is nothing great about this tool except, it is quite fast to connect. Other than that it just has flaws. It helps us connect to our office servers while working remotely.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

There are a lot of things I dislike about this tool. To start with, it does not save your credentials despite saving them numerous times, you always have to go into details and then put in your credentials and then attempt to connect. If you are very lucky, your credentials would be saved. Other thing which I dislike about this tool is that it becomes non responsive a lot.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With help of this VPN client, we connect to our private servers hosted in our office remotely. This helps us access the system which helps us perform QA on different environments.

  ### 2. VPN that enables us to work from home

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

The best thing I like about the Forticlient tool is that it is amicable to use, and it provides a stable and reliable connection to the users. When I moved to work from the office to work from home in this pandemic, this enabled us to connect to all our office servers, admins, etc, without any problem.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

In rare cases the tool got disconnect from my office IP and I had to reconnect it again but in the latest update this was solved and no complaints

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

If you have a small to medium-size firm, then you can opt for this very cost-effective tool, if you have a large firm then this will not be an idle tool I would recommend

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use this tool to connect to my office IP via VPN to have access to all my office accounts and services without any trouble. It provides an end-to-end encrypted service, due to which there is no fear of data leakage while working from home. Also it has a antivirus built in to it which protects our system from the risk and the attackers

  ### 13. FortiClient - Security for Professional Organizations

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 23, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

FortiClient is secure - with three-factor authorization implemented, we have no misgivings with accessing our company intranet remotely (critical in these post-2020 times). FortiClient also provides antivirus software if needed, consolidating your security needs into one client.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

FortiClient drops connection without notice on rare occasions; reconnecting is a bit of a hassle with 3FA, but that's the price you pay for security I suppose. There is also a bit of a delay when disconnecting from the VPN. I much prefer the desktop client to the mobile version.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FortiClient allows our teams to securely access our intranet remotely. As we are transitioning to a monstly-WFH environment, access to these resources is critical for our development cycle.

  ### 14. Difficult to remove, VPN issues

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff C. | Desktop Systems Specialist II, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

The thing I like the best was that the interface is pretty clean and simple to use. Decent amount of options but not overwhelmingly so. This was on the client end. On the server end things were pretty highly configurable but we consistently had issues with the Fortigate VPN component and MFA. Also we had a portion of our users that had to disable IPv6 to get the VPN to function correctly or had to uninstall and reinstall the VPN adapter. Thankfully we have retired all of the Fortclient EMS and switched to crowdstrike with PANs

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

Very difficult to remove. Even logged in his local admin oftentimes had to also go into safe mode or oddly enough update for the client to the latest version and then the uninstall would work correctly. The Ford client removal tool from for the client is completely useless and I have never had it work even once. Also the VPN issues were pretty regular and very annoying (not to mention a year or two ago & credentials in clear text)

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

Patch management patch management patch management

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are no longer using forticlient. This was due to dissatisfaction with it at this point and also standardizing across all sites on crowdstrike.

**Reviewed Date:** September 01, 2021

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

It helps to work with secure data via VPN and is easy to use and more reliable than the previous software I used. There is no need for tricky log-ins and lengthy processes to connect to VPN.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

Drops- off quickly, whenever the internet has a little break-down or interruption, also slows down the PC, many doctors refuse to use it due to this. Quite often, it needs several attempts to try logging in, and also, two different windows pop up when connecting, and both need to be approved. It would be easier to click on the window to yes, and then it took me to the next page of the authentification. Unfortunately, it does not warn users when dropps off, so often I only realise when my other softwares that require VPN stop working.

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

Make sure you have a strong PC and internet connection as it requires both. Also, when specific platforms stop working, check Forticlient as it tends to drop off with no notification.

Forticlient is such an easy VPN tool that can be setup and accessed by newbies with 0 technical knowledge. It only requires basic configuration to set it up.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

The VPN usually times out, not sure though if that is because of the VPN connection where it's configured or the software itself.

**Recommendations to others considering FortiClient:**

I hope that there will be no issue at all accessing other sites via mobile. Coz some of the internal sites at work when accessed via mobile isn't loading at all. So I do hope that those little glitches will be fixed as soon as possible.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I'm always encountering is the token issue wherein it's very late to be received via SMS. We had it setup with Google authenticator to have it fixed but that too is also experiencing an issue.

It does a great job of protecting against software flaws that were previously unknown or undetected, but with vulnerabilities that could lead to serious attacks, in conjunction with the Forti Sandbox.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

I think the most important deficiency of the product is the lack of EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) functionality. I hope this feature will come to FortiClient in the near future.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you want your company to be safe and ready for external threats, I think FortiClient is the right choice. It not only blocks malware and other threads, but also helps fix endpoint vulnerabilities. ### 47. Successful and Multiple Solutions at Affordable Prices

My favorite aspect of the product is that it reacts at the time of notification and allows us to prevent any attack. It gave us a really high level of confidence that all threats were detected.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

It must be completely uninstalled before the new version can be installed. Because updating the client is often misleading. I think this is a situation that needs to be fixed.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have been running this solution of Forti company at approximately 50 workstations for a long time and we did not encounter any problems. It prevents all malware and does not slow down your computer at all, even with a full scan. ### 48. VPN Client - Has Some Issues

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Glenn M. | IT Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

It connects me to my corporate VPN when I need it to. Not much more to say about it. Installation was easy.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

When connected to a SonicWall hardware VPN the Forticlient software disrupts my connection to the SonicWall, so I have to use another software VPN to connect to the SonicWall on top of the Forticlient. Not sure if this is a configuration issue between two different providers, but it's definitely an issue. Also the software runs at startup whether I want it or not, with no option to disable it from Task Manager's Startup tab, so I'm not sure how to prevent it

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have 12 locations spread across 2 states, so I'm able to access company resources when needed.

  ### 49. Work safe and fast with remote access to corporate servers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wallys G. | Account Anayst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2020

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

What I like the most about having FortiClient is that I can work remotely and quickly and safely access the servers, the connection is secure and provides protection to the servers against external attacks, each authorized personnel of the company has access to a user with which you can enter the secure server, since we implemented this tool, external attacks have been reduced considerably and internal communication manages to flow more quickly since it is easier to upload information to the server from anywhere with access to the network.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

The flaw that FortiClient sometimes presents is that the connection tends to drop unexpectedly, sometimes the connection is re-established quickly and sometimes it takes some time, these drops cause delays in the access of external personnel to the platform, especially external agents that require access to provide support and customer care services from the different points of sale.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The first platform that I open to start my daily work is FortiClient, which is the one that allows me remote access to our main server, from which I carry out my daily tasks, access to the platform is fast and secure and prevents unauthorized personnel enter our private servers, FortiClient access also allows me to access from my personal computer from the comfort of my home, it is an easy platform to install in mobile applications and also in fixed ports.

  ### 50. Remote and secure access to external personnel to the private corporate platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rodrigo B. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 06, 2020

**What do you like best about FortiClient?**

FortiClient is a very good application that allows us to access our internal databases remotely and securely from external terminals, access to the platform is very simple and allows access to customer data and information from fixed or mobile terminals , this makes it possible to carry out different customer service procedures and commercial processes, the degree of security is good and prevents unauthorized personnel from accessing confidential information.

**What do you dislike about FortiClient?**

The stability of the platform, especially at the level of mobile phones, is something that must be improved, because sometimes it disconnects for no apparent reason and it takes a long time to reestablish connection, this causes delays in the completion of processes and the normal flow of communication, although it is true that remote debugging sometimes works, it must be done several times a day as it does not offer a stable connection.

**What problems is FortiClient solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a large number of external agents who are responsible for carrying out different tasks, from commercial management to maintenance and installation of networks, it was necessary and important that our collaborators had access to user information in order to offer a service faster and more efficient, but we did not have a secure platform that allowed access to our servers, since for this it was necessary to connect from a terminal in our main offices, with FortiClient we managed to solve this problem.
