Top Rated Font Book Alternatives

Font Book feels intuitive when you're looking for a specific font. I love how easy it is to find the font I'm looking for and even how the filetypes are collected together super easy viewing. Not only does it look seamless, but it also showcases everything about the fonts themselves. Now I never have to wonder what is included in a font because I can just scroll through after clicking and see all of the included characters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike anything about Font Book. Given how it's a relativley simple program, I've never run into significant problems with it. It is what it needs to be! When I used a Windows system, it felt very slow and almost like it didn't update much even after I had correctly installed fonts. Font Book updates immediately and has never dissappointed! The ease of use, simplistic interface, and the ability to categorize fonts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish their were more options to organize the fonts in categories. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Font Book is the ability to enable and disable fonts and not have them turned on all the time, saving precious system resource. What's even better is that Font Book comes on every Mac giving all Mac users this control (unlike other well known operating systems). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No ability to share fonts amongst users, which is a pain when you have large teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like how helpful it is in organizing all of the fonts that I buy/download! As a creative entrepreneur, photographer, and brand strategist, fonts are my LIFELINE when creating specialized brands for my clients. Font Book organizes all of my files into one place. I love how putting all of my files in one place so I can easily search, identify, and view my fonts is installed right there on my macbook. I couldn't run my design business without it! There's nothing that comes to mind from the beginning! The only (slight) suggestion would be more organized throughout the app interface. Sometimes my files tend to get a bit jumbled when I'm working on a new project and trying to find fonts that pertain to the client/their business. Sometimes when I upload duplicate fonts by mistake, it doesn't recognize that hiccup, and there's a bit of a workaround to that. In addition, occasionally the macbook will have pre-installed fonts on your computer. In the event that I don't want my files to get disorganized, I like to uninstall fonts I don't use and sometimes fontbook doesn't have that capability. Most of the time it's great! I like that I can easily search font names and see all of the styles for the selected font that are installed on the computer. It also separates for OTF and TTF and keeps that organization whether or not I deleted the original font files that I had dowloaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that sometimes there's a lag between fontbook and the adobe suite. I could have the fonts installed to the machine and inside of fontbook and adobe won't recognize it. I end up having to switch between fontbook and adobe fonts quite a bit to get them to sync - which isn't the end of the world, however I wish that the mac machine itself would sync fontbook to my applications a little bit faster. I enjoy Font Book's ease of use, intuitive design, and relatively minimal UI. Though it's a basic program that comes native to the Mac landscape of devices, it makes downloading and installing fonts almost automatic. I also like that it separates the fonts into TTF and OTF for you. It's easy to display all of your available fonts and to sort through them to find one that suits your project the best. For the most part, my experience with Font Book has been relatively uncomplicated. I haven't yet encountered anything that would give me pause before using Font Book or dissuade me from using it. I use it for relatively low-stakes applications, and I've enjoyed it thoroughly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that I can create collections for each company that I do contract work for, and I can see the fonts I have installed just for them. I also like that I can drag and drop new fonts in very quickly and easily. The preview section is very nice, as well. Another benefit is being able to export a font if you need to share it. I dislike how the program handles duplicates. It seems to gray them out instead of deleting them. I am not sure how other font programs handle that aspect, but this is a small thing that bothers me, but it is not a game changer by any means. I also dislike that you cannot see what type of font it is... for example, TTF or OTF. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the fact that I can drag and drop the fonts that I find directly into the program and it will automatically group them to the entire font family. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there was a way to have them find all fonts on the system, sync with Adobe fonts, and remove any that are problematic or duplicates. I also wish I could sync them with my icloud so all my devices received new downloaded fonts no matter where I started from. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like about Apple Font Book is that it is super easy, intuitive, and friendly to use. You don't need a tutorial to understand how it works or even install it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I do not find any problem with Font Book. I could not find something I dislike. It has everything I need to manage, install and preview the vast number of fonts on my computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
