The modules in Fishbowl are very easy to understand and use. It also offers lot tracking and expiry date tracking, which many software systems do not. Customer service has always been fantastic. We use this software daily and it is crucial for our daily operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is minimal customizations for the standard reports and to get a truly custom report, there is a hefty price associated with it. There were also some hiccups with integrations as new capabilities come out that some of the tech support was unable to resolve for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl inventory is simple and built on a relational database using MySQL. There are loads of training materials available, and this combination allows for a quick to achieve and deep understanding of the software. Fishbowl works as an excellent CRM for order and inventory tracking. The system has a very clean layout, where it does not take long to know where to go to solve a task or problem. Connections to the software via API and import/export are extremely handy. I found the Fishbowl staff to be very pleasent and helpful on most all topics (albeit perhaps a bit understaffed).
Great software, I am sure it will continue to grow, and at a later time, would be happy to adjust my review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl's value as an MES is somewhat to be desired. I feel that in 2024, it is hard to justfy not including some pretty standard ERP functions when creating BoMs and work orders.
Even though the software is easy to understand, it is not incredibly user friendly. I feel that many of the operations people perform day to day could be streamlined with dropdowns or auto sourcing.
There also seems to be somewhat of a disconnect between modules involved in the same functions. For instance, the picking and shipping modules are unable to produce all the information that may exist on the sales order module.
Not a big fan of paying for user seats. Nothing more irritating than needing to get some work done and the login limit has been reached. This is a payment scale that benifits the user with options, but requires much more interaction to maintain usability. Should not be a problem for smaller organizations.
Finally, (one that has come up recently) the 'inventory tag' that applies to items treats them as seperate inventories, almost as if they are different parts with the same part number. The only place I have seen to view this 'tag' that defines them, is in the picking module, which makes it extraordinarly difficult to discover which items are which, since you cannot even view the tag number in the inventorys of the parts. (another example of disconnect between modules.) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl is really good at tracking inventory, sales, and purchasing. Easy to use. There is a lot of information that it tracks that is very helpful for reporting. Fishbowl has an amazing support staff that is easy to reach and knowledable about the software. It works really well with QBO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some issues with receiving/reconciling that can cause problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Our business serves 600+ unique customers in North, Central, and South America and we carry 5000+ unique products with more being added every week. Fishbowl has easily kept up with our growth, provides high-end ERP functionality, and works all day everyday. We are able to use in multiple locations...and on laptops when out in the field. And on the rare occasion when we have had a Support question or issue, we have received fast, personal service to keep us humming along and focused on our business, not our inventory system. We also connect to QuickBooks Online for finances and directly to our website for on-line sales and have had very few issues. Without a hint of hyperbole I would say the use of Fishbowl has been one of the keys to the success of our business. We even get compliments from other business owners on how efficient and professional we are for a Small Business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our only consistent issue with Fishbowl is that we have limited ability to refine the look and feel of our customer facing reports. For example, we would like to add ore information to our Sales Order Confirmation reports but need to change font size and rotate the report to landscape but cannot do ourselves. We can pay Fishbowl for the changes, and have done this, but it would be so much easier to be able to edit these ourselves. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Posibility to partially pick manufacture orders; handling landed costs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wrong calculation of the manufacture order with multilevel BoMs; limited inventory adjustment posibility; lack of needed reports and possibility to easily adjust them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Many of the features of larger software providers, e.g. Netsuite, but at an affordable small/medium business price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Separate Quickbooks Online subscription and the sychronizing between the two is sometimes frustrating and also obscures the total cost. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SO far, I have found the modules easy to navigate. The support and training is great. Our trainer is very patient and knowledgeable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As we are still in training, I can't say what I dislike yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not able to use QBO tax system with fishbowl. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl streamlines the process from start to finish. It is fairly user friendly to manage purchasing, inventory, production and manufacturing, and sales orders. Fishbowl's support team is also phenomenal and almost always is able to get me a solution to any issues we run in to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it allowed for more report customization and the ability to automatically send me an email or some sort of notification when stock levels reached a certain order. We have also had some issues integrating Fishbowl with Shopify. It is not as easy or customizable as we would like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
