The modules in Fishbowl are very easy to understand and use. It also offers lot tracking and expiry date tracking, which many software systems do not. Customer service has always been fantastic. We use this software daily and it is crucial for our daily operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is minimal customizations for the standard reports and to get a truly custom report, there is a hefty price associated with it. There were also some hiccups with integrations as new capabilities come out that some of the tech support was unable to resolve for me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fishbowl's customer support is unmatched - every single person I have interacted with has been amazing and so helpful. The implementation process while lengthy has gone smoothly due to such amazing customer service. As we learn how to use Fishbowl, I find its systems very straightforward and intuitive even with the learning curve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The setup process was very time consuming and sometimes confusing, but we have had such amazing support throughout the entire process. There are some features for our existing ERP that are not quite the same in Fishbowl, but it seems that the custom reports team will be able to help with one of those important aspects. The underlying MySQL database makes writing queries straightforward, which is one of Fishbowl's few technical strengths. It allows for easier data extraction and custom reporting, though it’s unfortunate that Fishbowl doesn’t deliver the same level of user-friendly functionality. Summary: Over the past several years, we’ve experienced a significant decline in the quality and reliability of Fishbowl's software, prompting us to seek alternative solutions. Below are the key issues we encountered.
Declining Quality: The quality of the software has steadily declined, leading to frequent issues such as breaking changes in updates and incorrect reporting. Features that once worked seamlessly now cause more problems than they solve, which is unacceptable for any business reliant on accurate data.
Misleading Sales Practices: During the presales process, our implementation engineer and salesperson assured us that a specific feature existed, only to discover post-purchase that they were mistaken. This kind of miscommunication is frustrating and costly for our business.
Poor Account Management: Our account manager is rarely responsive unless there’s a potential sale involved. This lack of support and engagement leaves us feeling undervalued as customers.
Unnecessary and Overpriced Features: When new features do arrive, they are often irrelevant or priced exorbitantly as add-ons. For example, critical features that our business relied on, such as product notifications, were altered in ways that made them useless.
Inadequate Inventory Management: Despite being centered around inventory management, the system falls short in basic functionality. Adding new tracking fields to an existing system is cumbersome, and the inability to store attachments at the inventory level is a glaring oversight.
Support Contract Issues: The support contract is overpriced and ineffective. When bugs are reported, support does nothing to escalate them to the development team. Issues with QuickBooks synchronization are met with the advice to enter transactions manually. Adding a single license is prohibitively expensive and tied into the already costly support contract.
Forced Dependency: We currently pay approximately $10k/year for support that is subpar at best. We were recently informed that dropping the support contract would disable critical integrations, such as those with QuickBooks and File Storage, which feels like a forced dependency rather than a service.
In conclusion, we can no longer recommend Fishbowl due to the persistent decline in product quality, misleading sales practices, and substandard support. The software no longer meets our business needs, and the cost of maintaining it far outweighs the benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the price of Fishbowl and how well the push pull API works. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software could be compiled better such as: adding more ways to filter date without pulling reports. Add the picking module to the calendar. add bill splits to the SO module. create a filter to sort SO priority in sales module. create a filter to sort by salesperson in the picking module. create a start and stop pick date and present on the calander. capability to manully split pick tickets in the picking module. It would be better for our industry if we had a software that was setup for job shops meaning more form and fuction then an inventory softeware but not as complex and expensive as the manufacturing module Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Once Quickbooks Desktop was discontinued for support we were forced to switch to Quickbooks online. Unfortunately that didn't offer us the ability to generate Sales Orders, ship small packages or effectively maintain inventory. With Fishbowl - integrated with Quickbooks online, we are able to quote a customer, generate a sales order, pick/ pack/ ship via small packages and generate a Bill of Lading for LTL shipments. Our inventory is now always correct. The workflow is easy and intuitive, we use it every day. The implementation process was great, we had a dedicated trainer who video-chatted with us for weeks before we went live. There's also a mobile app that allows you to do most functions remotely. We searched for over a year before landing on this product and glad we did! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
If I had any complaints, it would be on the reporting side - some included reports could stand to be more customizeable but you can always get custom report templates made from customer support. The truth is that I can also get all of my reports in quickbooks online anyway so it's far from being a dealbreaker! Fishbowl also said there are many updates coming this year and i'm sure this will be one of them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl is feature rich, providing great value for the cost. Fishbowl customer support has been top notch in regards to availablity, product knowledge, and approachability. Overall, a very well engineered software product that makes good effort at interfacing and integration. The ease of implementation is a plus. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although Fishbowl provides a plethora of reports, there seems to be lots of reports that you don't need with very few reports that are helpful right out of the box. Reports that are most helpful for us have been customized and are expensive. The whole reporting apparatus in FB is the most disappointing aspect of the product due to its difficult accessibility and clunky database interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We were looking for a platform to help us keep up with our inventory quantities, costs, ordering, and manufacturing. Before, we were doing this with a system that wasn't really designed to do this causing us to have to do a lot of these tasks by hand. Since adopting this system in February 2024, we have been so pleased with the results - even our CPA has said "your COGS have never been more accurate!" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Fishbowl is dang smart, and justifiably complex because of all it can do. That said, getting used to the logic of it's layout is a learning curve. The UI is not as intuitive as I would anticipate for something available in 2024. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I and my Lupos Biotechnology team, are using Fishbowl Inventory Software to track our Manufactured inventory as a Company of utilizing thousands of Raw goods and selling hundreds of our finished goods. This software is really helpful in the terms of where, how much, when and what exactly I shipped to our clients. Additonally, Fishbowl seemed to be very helpful in pulling out different types of Reports which basically keeps a history of each and every unit entering and leaving our facility. The thing I like the most is that Fishbowl can never loose a single unit of my inventory. It has brilliant reporting options such as Lot history, Accounting, Monthly sales and purchase orders, Inventory Adjustment reports etc. Another thing which is appreciable is their Customer Support. Even though we have Intensified Protocoals as a Pharma Producers, still Every time we contact support is really helpful. They have very supportive team especially their Implementatio specalist- Joshua Willamson Who trained us throughout the software in a very detailed and brief manner. A big big thanks to Joshua Willamson and his team to simplify our Inventory management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would say in the beginning, I was having a mindset that Fishbowl is bit complicated and Too detailed oriented However, As soon as we started using it, It seemed to be very useful in the terms of Our inventory management and our manufacturing procedures. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Detailed inventory, and easy to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Gst to QB online was a nightmare to sort out but we got it eventually with the help of tech support Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Fishbowl has been an invaluable tool for us as we've grown over the past couple of years. I cannot imagine continuing to use QuickBooks Online for inventory management at our current scale. The support we received during setup was unbelievably helpful; I had as much help as I needed at every step. After the training we received, it became pretty intuitive to use. Even what we didn't explicitly learn we were able to figure out pretty quickly. And any roadblocks we hit are very quickly addressed by the support chat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the integrations/reports we use don't exist natively in the software. Fortunately there are workarounds, i.e. third party integrations or continuing to use QuickBooks Online for reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like best about Fishbowl is the Customer Support we receive. Fishbowl Reps. are friendly, easy to talk to, willing to help, knowledgable and get the job done! Although fishbowl is not 100% intuitive, it is easy to use once you have received training and it integrates easily with other programs. We use it daily in our operations and it is a crucial part of our business. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I least like about Fishbowl is that if we are having network issues in the warehouse, the devices will record inaccurate numbers. I guess that's not the fault of Fishbowl, but I wish there was something that could be done in the program to prevent errors when we are having network issues. Furthermore, the program is not 100% intuitive. Anyone using Fishbowl should get some training first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
