## FireHydrant Reviews
  ### 1. FireHydrant Makes Incident Notifications Effortless and Keeps the Right People Informed

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gunther C. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant makes it extremely easy to notify engineers and other stakeholders that an incident is occuring, it helps make sure the right people are pulled in and notified. Overall it does a good job of helping managers feel confident that someone can respond to an issue if one occurs.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is really good compared to similar solutions, I don't currently have any complaints.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant solves the need for engineers to be able to respond to an incident quickly, it's ability to handle tasks like setting up a dedicated Slack channel for the incident helps cut down on extrenious steps and initial coordination efforts that would make it longer and more difficult to start focusing on addressing the root cause of the issue.

  ### 2. Cheaper Alternative to Opsgenie, With Room to Grow

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruslan D. | Senior Site Reliability Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 07, 2026

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

A cheaper alternative to Opsgenie. It offers a good set of tools, and customer support responds quickly when I reach out with a request.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

It has fewer features overall and fewer enterprise-level capabilities. The number of integrations is also limited.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Alerting and gather events about our infra

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The fast communication with team members.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The downside of using Fire Hydrant was that it's had a lot of features that smaller teams didn't need.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It benefits me by being able to help me communicate and notify all team members.

  ### 5. Incident Management simplified

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karl H. | Operational Excellence, Senior Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

From my perspective, FireHydrant is a really solid incident management tool. What impresses me most is how it brings order to chaos and helps incident commanders instill calm in a reactive situation. I really dig how it guides you through the whole incident process, from the initial alert to the final post-mortem, which is super helpful in expediting root cause analysis to senior leadership. I love the automated runbooks; they basically take the guesswork out of responding, which saves a ton of time and stress. Although we have just begun to scratch the surface with their usefulness i look forward to going deeper.
When it comes to teamwork, it's fanfriggintastic – everyone can collaborate easily within the platform. Plus, the post-mortem features are continually evolving and generally helpful for learning and improving. It really pushes for a blameless culture, which I appreciate.
For alert management, it integrates smoothly with our monitoring tools. Overall, I find FireHydrant to be a powerful and user-friendly platform that makes incident response much more manageable.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Setup Can Be Tricky: Integrating it with existing systems requires time and effort.
It Can Get Pricey: The cost might be a concern for smaller teams.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For us, at the moment:
* Brings order to chaos.
* Speeds up response times.
* Improves communication.
* Ensures consistent responses.
* Facilitates learning from incidents.
* Automates retrospective creation.

  ### 6. Robust & flexible Incident Response tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane M. | Incident Command, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 22, 2022

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is a flexible platform that allows you to tailor the tool to your company's processes and incident response expectations. It also enables incident responders to use the tool how they like to work. Working fully out of Slack or some other chat/collaboration tool, FireHydrant integrates and lets you open/update/resolve incidents without having to leave where the incident response action is happening. But if you would rather work from a UI, FireHydrant has a full-featured graphical interface that enables all the same cool features to be done from a web page.

Another key feature is the ablility to integrate FireHydrant with all of our tools that are needed to effectively manage an incident - Statuspage.io, Jira, Zoom, Slack, etc. the list is comprehensive.

Lastly, the use of AI summarization is a significant admin toil reducer. Teams can focus on mitigation while AI captures key information during an incident.

Outside of the tool itself, the Customer Support and engagement from front line support, Product Management, and Engineering teams is phenomenal. All the teams are customer focused and strive to provide great user experiences.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Post Incident Reviews - FireHydrant has made strides in creating a collaborative and flexible tool that guides people through PIRs, and with their acquisition of Blameless there have been improvements. But that area is one that has room for growth.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant is solving the problem of having multiple incident response tools and processes across the wider organization. Replacing several tools with a single tool that is flexible enough to meet everyone's incident response needs is crucial. A huge benefit to us is the ability to help guide responders through the incident response process - through runbook reminders and triggers. We have a wide range of incident responders, some who are in incidents every week and some that join an incident once a quarter. FireHydrant runbooks and automation help us have a consistent incident response and take away the stress and worry of common incident response and allow folks to focus on mitigating the issue, while not having to remember/focus on the process steps.

**Official Response from Mike Perez:**

> Hi Shane! Thanks for the review. Happy to see that you enjoy the flexibility that our platform provides. "Opinionated, yet flexible" is a phrase our product team likes to use. In regards to paging, we took an opinionated approach to paging to ensure that we could page appropriately across all major alerting providers. We are currently re-evaluating paging in the application and look forward to making significant upgrades. Triggering runbooks on incomplete data has shipped and we'd love feedback on it.

  ### 7. Feature rich platform for incident response integrations and automations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Runbooks and automations via third-party applications that allow us to streamline our incident process. Slack commands and module allow users to stay within slack during incidents. Command Center is what I use most because it is a central view with information organized for quick access and edits. New features like the AI summary is a time-saver!

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish we could toggle features in our settings or have more freedom to customize our experiences, both for the company and specific departments. Would like to see more advance settings for third-party applications we can integrate with, and more specific conditions that we can trigger in runbooks (ex. labels).

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is a platform that allows us to build out our incident response process and integrate third-party tools in one central place. We can auto-declare incidents based off alerts, declare different types of incidents, page different teams, have runbooks perform different steps based off certain conditions, and gather metrics. We can also track betterments and lessons learned from the PIR.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is a great solution for incident response and alerting. The incident response runbooks are flexible and customizable for each team to tailor their experience for how their services are supported. Their Signals on-call, escalations, and alerting features allow for many applications to aggregate into the system providing a solution to have all alerting in one spot while not having to use the same monitoring tools. The FireHydrant team are great partners to work with when a new need arises, we work together to create effective solutions.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Every system has different features and they are not all the same. Why would they be? Managing users and expectations is always the hardest part of administering a solution.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FireHydrant allows for the organization to have a foundational incident response framework while allowing for teams to customize their usage as well.

  ### 11. Great Slack Integration, But Login Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2025

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The Slack Integration is pretty great, we get timely notifications.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Login service could be improved on, it's usually slow.

If a distributed service is down, we are immediately looped in the incident via slack.

  ### 12. Excellent tool for incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Public Safety | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2025

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

It is capable of being integrated with multiple platforms, such as Slack and Jira.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I do not have anything from my own, but some coworkers do not like the number of notifications, for instance, migrating a conversation from a regular channel to the Slack firehydrant incident channel.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The use of IA for post-mortem reports is great. It saves a lot of time and give great reports.

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

At it's core a solid Incident Management platform that now has great alerting capabilities.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

There are some features missing from the platform due to it being younger than other ones like Pager Duty. But the company is moving fast and new features are coming all the time.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providng a consistent way for our organization to manage manage technology related incidents.

  ### 18. Integrating Blameless into my workflows has changed the game for Support managing incidents.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan L. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

For context, I've built a Slack Bolt App which utilizes data from Blameless to keep both Engineering and Support in-sync during an incident. The triggers were easy enough to setup to kick off the app and seamlessly start pulling data from Blameless. Long story short; my app uses Blameless for everything.

The API documentation overall was pretty easy to read and integrate into my app and I feel like that's saying a lot since I've been coding for less than 6 months and am self taught.

Also, the support I received from the Blameless team (especially Kim!) was incredible. The response time from the team has been exceptional and the attention to detail was outstanding!

I also appreciate the fact that querying exists in Blameless. It has been helpful for the Support team to measure our time costs while managing incidents.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

While querying previous data for incidents is helpful for the Support team, I will say that the experience querying hasn't been the easiest. Moreso that using SQL querying isn't as straightforward about limitations and the documentation also seems a bit sparse.

I've been using ChatGPT to help build out some query statements, but most of the time Blameless isn't aware of the function so sometimes I feel like I have to take that data with a grain of salt if something is returned.

With that said, I still regularly utilize the Insights Dashboards I've created and we do consider them accurate.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless is providing an accessible platform allowing our Support Team to stay aligned with Engineering on all incidents requiring customer support. It drives our IncidentBot Slack app which tracks our incident work in real time. Without it, we'd probably have to rebuild an entire system just to keep our Support Team on the same page.

  ### 19. Minimizes Stress, Maximizes Productivity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam H. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Firehydrant has filled nearly every cap that we experienced in the past with incident management. From day one transitioning to FireHydrant, they have proved to be a great investment and improvement over our previous product. Firehydrant has freed my team to spend time on improving processes rather than fighting the incident process itself.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish Firehydrant had a better maintnenace product. We have not moved our organization to Firehydrant for our maintenances because there is no way to plan and dicscuss in a dedicated channel prior to the start of the maintenance. This makes planning for such events much more difficult to the point where we still use an in-house built tool to run our maintnance.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before FireHydrant we were using a house-built tool. Since implementing the product, I have been able to focus more on our processes rather than bug squashing or feature requests. Our incident processes have improved immensly as an organization now that we can focus on the important tasks.

**Official Response from Erin Kavanagh:**

> Thanks for the feedback on our schedule maintenance feature! Wondering if y'all would benefit from Runbooks that could be triggered _before_ a maintenance is scheduled to go live? We're actively improving Runbooks at the moment so we'll definitely surface this feedback. If you have more please pass it along through your CSM!

  ### 20. Standardized and Improved our Incident Response Process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anthony P. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

We've been using FireHydrant for a little over a year. Just recently, one of my teammates told me they couldn't imagine not having FireHydrant. This speaks to how impactful is has been in our organization. With our automation, we are able to collect incident response details in a single place (incident Slack channel), report updates to key stakeholders for compliance purposes, and, because the incident details are all in one place, it makes retrospectives much easier to perform. FireHydrant gets used regularly for responding to incidents and for retrospectives.

We are trying out Signals now and are excited about using an on-call rotation and scheduling product that's still being actively developed. Our current provider has not made significant updates in years and has settled into maintenance mode.

FireHydrant's Customer Support has been extremely helpful. Shoutout to Sydney who regularly fields questions we have and helps us accomplish some workflows that were complex.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

A lot of automation exists, but we still find ourselves limited by some of the constraints in what triggers an automation step. We are also working with our Business Intelligence team to pull data into our data warehouse so that we can analyze it better. The reporting in FireHydrant isn't as good as we needed, but at least they make it easy to get to the data.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us automate our incident response and makes completing retrospectives easier than the manual process we had before.

**Official Response from Erin Kavanagh:**

> Love getting this feedback. Thanks so much for sharing! We're actively working on improving Runbooks, including Runbook triggers. We'd love to get your feedback directly as a design partner. We'll get in touch directly on that front. Also, if you haven't seen the updates to make MTTX metrics more accessible across categories (teams, services, and more) give that a look. Would be eager to hear what else we can do on that front to improve reporting :)

  ### 21. The best solution for incident management software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Asaf G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 28, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Very easy to use, works natively with Slack/Teams, and many other integrations.
Very customizable and can be easily tailored to each company's specific needs
Very easy and straightforward implementation process
Customer Support/Account Managers are top notch, and the company as a whole is "client friendly" and open to suggestions/improvements.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

To get the best out of the tool you'll need to purchase seats for every user who interacts with incident management

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Coordinating and communicating during incidents, controlling the flow of information during incidents, and ensuring that the right people are working on solving the problem. FireHydrant does all of that while using existing tools (Slack/Teams, OpsGenie/Page Duty) but augmenting them in a way that helps the organization better control and coordinate incidents. This has enabled us to improve "time to resolution," improve efficiency in incidents and reduce burnout of people involved in incidents.

  ### 22. Blameless is the engine that runs our Incident Program.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff S. | Director of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless helped us establish the framework for our Incident Program. Everything runs through Blameless, from starting incidents to running our retrospectives and collecting incident metrics. Our Blameless CSM Matthew is also excellent. He has been with us since the beginning and has done everything possible to assist and help us.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

A few functionalities are a total head-scratcher and sometimes work against us. The good news is that Blameless is always committed to take these to their backlog and worked on them. Since our time with Blameless, I have seen some functionality be improved based on feedback, so there is hope.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless is the framework for which we launch our incident command. It also acts as our de facto data collection for our incident metrics and integration into all our tools.

  ### 23. A comprehensive software to fit a wide range of companies

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mike B. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless integrates well with many different platforms including Jira and Slack. The interface is pretty easy to use and figure out. The most recent customer support has been very helpful and theyve made strides to improve their customer sucess department.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

There is still a lot of manual work that needs to be done in incidents that I feel like could be streamlined or made easier through a software like blameless. Although the integrations are easy, some of the integrations with Jira seem limited to what information you can pass over. Because Jira can be filled with custom fields, it still requires manual effort to make sure that the information gets populated correctly

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incidents can be hectic and disorganized. It requires a lot of organization in a very quick and short time frame. Blameless helps take a lot of those cooridnation pains off by having a single place to coordinate everything from.

  ### 24. Great Incident Management Software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless is really easy to configure and navigate once you get familliar with the tools they offer. Comms Flow is a nice a feature that allows some great automation of messages and notifications to be sent out during various stages of the incident. Their support has also been very quick and friendly with anything I've needed. Definitely a tool I use everyday so I've been pleased with the support and ease of use.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

If you're new to incident management, understanding the methodology behind it can take a minute to get used to before you're really leveraging the full power of Blameless, but their support team is super helpful in bringing you up to speed. If you're familiar with incident management, it's a breeze to get acquainted with.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quick Incident identification and bringing in the right people to triage. Being able to require specific frameworks with how incidents are run and how retrospectives should be defined is incredibly useful, gives out a lot of good metrics to work with from a reporting standpoint.

  ### 25. Managing Incidents with Blameless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Becky W. | Global Head of Customer Experience, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless allows us to manage incidents with ease. The integrations with slack and PagerDuty drives quick notifications to the broader team which has significantly reduced our time to identify and time to resolution.

Our newest Customer Support Manager has been great! In her first week, she was able to correct the issues we were facing with the UI and has provided solid communication as we work together to identify how Blameless can help us achieve our 2024 goals.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Blameless continues to release additional features that improves the experience for us as a user/incident manager. Minor changes have impacted our experience - not being able to use capital letters in our tagging. The Blameless team has been open to our feedback and works to make the necessary changes.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Blameless as a mechanism to report, manage, and resolve client impacting incidents. Consistently entering tickets to report incidents has allowed us to measure the time it takes to identify the issue and the time it takes to provide resolution. Leveraging the tags in Blameless helped us identify a pattern of incidents post new release and enabled us to track specific product issues.

  ### 26. Easy, Effective, and now better than ever with Signals

Firehydrant has been a game changer for our teams for creating a culture of blameless incident response. The interface (Slack) is easy to use, easy to set up, and now with Signals, brings a revolutionary approach to on-call life.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The web UI has left a bit to be desired - especially in the realm of analytics. This is an area where new features coming out now are bringing some improvement but our teams have had to invest in building some robust data pipeline tools to create our own analytics tooling on the data from Firehydrant.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bringing relevant team members together in a focused workspace to solve an immediate issue with a critical system

**Official Response from Erin Kavanagh:**

> Hear you loud and clear on the analytics front. The recent update was just the starting place for surfacing more insight through analytics and we've got more planned throughout the year.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

They are meeting most of our business needs.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use blameless for end-to-end management of our incidents. Streamlined the incident management process, post-mortem, and tracked incidents for patterns.

  ### 28. Blameless helping to improve Space Operations

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chretien M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The ability to track customer and incident time as separate timespans on the same incident. This allows our team to calculate how long an incident takes to fully resolve when any customer affected services are involved and have been fully addressed.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The need to make specific queries and additional calculations to report all associated tags and resolution times for an incident. Currently, the queries automatically multiples the incident time by the number of tags reported. It would be nice if there were easier ways to collect and report this info. Also, the inability to link incidents together for related follow-on incidents.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps our team track incidents and the amount of time our system is affected to ensure we are providing the most up time possible. This is huge benefit to our Customer Success team in quantifying how incidents are affecting our customers.

  ### 29. Using Blameless to help run incidents

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Integration with Slack is a huge plus as it helps notify our teams that an incident has started and pulls them in quickly. The Comms Flow feature is a nice way to prompt teams during incidents to keep the incident moving along. The flexibility of configuring and using tags to capture important information our company needs for incidents is also a nice feature that we use a lot. Customer support is great and quick to answer our questions.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Reporting and gathering information concerning the whole picture of an incident (basic incident information and retrospectives specifically) is challenging. We use Reliability Insights but the 10 field limit makes it very difficult to build the reports that we want to build for analyzing our incidents month to month. We have built a manual export process to google sheets to fill the gaps. This is an area in which we struggle the most.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Assisting with the running of an incident and gathering the right people in to a centralized place (Slack) to handle the incident. Blameless helps us to centralize our incident processes and information in one place which is helpful to our company.

  ### 30. FireHydrant has been a key part of our incident maturation process

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 05, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant offers a tremendous amount of flexibility for incident automation and visibility. We've had a seamless transition onto the platform and responsive support when small quirks emerged.

FireHydrant has been effectively adopted by the entire engineering org, and initial internal satisfaction has been high.

There are a ton of additional incident process and platform improvements that previously felt pie in the sky, but FireHydrant's flexible runbooks, integrations and webhook capabilities make them actionable to us.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

We are still figuring out how to map many discrete systems in our technology stack to the right unlocks in FireHydrant. This includes things like how to keep the catalogs and teams fresh. Thus far, hasn't been a major pain point though.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use FireHydrant for incident coordination and analytics.

**Official Response from Erin Kavanagh:**

> We'd love to work on those pain points together even if they're minor. Give your CSM a shout or feel free to reach out to me (Erin) directly: ekavanagh at firehydrant dot com.

  ### 31. Reliable Incident Response Product

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Christopher R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

It streamlines the Incident response process by automating cumbersome tasks like creating a slack channel, audio bridge, and adding responders to a triage. It is also easily integrated.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

No downside. Maybe some features regarding stakeholder communications would be a possible enhancement

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Its used as our main incident response tool. It enables the team to focus on driving incidents rather than going through mundane manual processes of creating channels and audio bridges. More attention can be paid to the task at hand

**Official Response from Erin Kavanagh:**

> We've got some things in the works to that'll give status page updates a boost but would love to hear more about what you're thinking on the stakeholder comms front. Give your CSM a shout or feel free to email me directly: ekavanagh at firehydrant dot com.

  ### 32. Unblock your engineers from focusing on incidents

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 13, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

I love that Blameless allows engineers to focus on whats important, remediating the incident. Integrating within slack allows for engineers to open, document, and resolve incidents from within their standard communcations tool.

With Blameless, Machinify leverages weekly retrospectives to give the broader team awareness in what went wrong throughout the week and how we can avoid it in the future. Reliability insights enables engineering managers to view open incidents, time to resolution and identify patterns within incidents over the past week.

As we continue to rely on Blameless at our organization, engineers continue to focus on excellence when it comes to operating our platform.

Blameless customer support is focused on ensuring all customers are enabled and unblocked throughout their use of the product.

Our organization has over 2000 incidents using Blameless, and we use it every day.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish there was more automation around communication, remediation and documentation of incidents within Blameless.

I would love to see more power behind reliability insights and SLOs.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I joined my organization, we constantly had incidents that were triaged and resolved in private communcations. This lead to not solving the root problem, reducing transparency in the platform. Blameless improves that transparency, removes toil in the incident process and forces the conversation of root cause analysis.

**Official Response from Aaron Lober:**

> We're thrilled to hear that Blameless has helped your organization improve transparency, remove toil in the incident process, and facilitate root cause analysis. We understand your desire for more automation and power behind reliability insights and SLOs, and we'll definitely consider this as we continue to enhance our platform.

  ### 33. Blameless is an integral part of Leolabs incident management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The slack integration is particularly solid, enjoy the fact that I dont need to leave slack to complete an incident end to end.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The inbuilt reliability insights are clunky and less than useful. Actually easier to export all incident data using the API and manipulate in a third party tool. Slack integration is great however it would be even better if more functions were integrated. Completion of retrospectives in slack would be excellent

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Leolabs has a need to coordinate incident management across multiple sites and timezones and blameless makes it easy to ensure that all this communication is occurring in one place

  ### 34. A product that can help when incidents occur!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devon L. | Senior IT Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

We have had Blameless for a couple of years now. This product is crucial for when we are dealing with an incident within our organization. They have a lot of integrations into the platforms we use (Slack, JIRA, Zoom, etc) and allow for a seamless way to bring the necessary teams together when needed most.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

They have had some restructuring internally that cause a bit of a headache for us initially. Now that they are past that, we hope to have resolved those going forward.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Manging incidents and communication between teams to ensure as reduced of a downtime as possible

  ### 35. Firehydrant - incident management redefined

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shray K. | Staff Software Engineer on Infrastructure, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2021

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant is essential to the practice of running software in production. When you chat with an engineer at a startup and ask what they do for their incident management process, everyone replies with some vague process centered around "starting a slack room, and hunting for that one confluence doc that we started when we had our first incident". FireHydrant brings structure to incident management and provides us with runbooks that are quickly executed, and action items to follow up on, and holds us accountable to what we've agreed upon as an engineering organization.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

In general, we have very few complaints around the experience, but I'd like to see more features built out around alerting and the service catalog as these are essential to all companies.

**Recommendations to others considering FireHydrant:**

Firehydrant is chock full of features -- there's support for Kubernetes, Jira, an Events API, and CLI where you can submit custom events -- the other competitors in this industry are years behind in innovation.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Firehydrant has solved issues around having "too many cooks in the kitchen" and not enough communication around incidents. It clarifies roles such as an incident commander and assigns responsibilities to specific users. The benefits to this are a disciplined process in a domain generally rife with chaos.

  ### 36. Blameless easy the implementation of SRE Good Practices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Airton S. | Chief Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 14, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The slack bot is very intuitive and easy to use. In a few clicks you'll have a ready-to-use step-by-step incident bot. We use it on all incidents!
The incident output is very organized to do post-analysis.
The support is incredible, we have Blameless folks on our slack and they answer any question we have in the same day.
Reliability Insights are very nice for analyzing the company's reliability.
Communications flow can be customized.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Blameless doesn't have integrations to export data to other systems, this force us to do some manual toil to have the data available on other tools, such as Notion.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us operating incidents in a organized way. This makes us faster, more confident and less error prone during the hardest times.
It helps us organizing the incident data to do post-analysis. This makes us more effective on learning and taking action points to prevent issues from happening again.

  ### 37. Works brilliantly in our incident management process

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chisel M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

We adopted Blameless to automate and support our incident management process. The tool's Slack-bot is a core feature in managing the process.
At the start of an incident we quickly get an issue ticket, a video chat, and a dedicated incident channel in Slack.
The incident tasks allow the incident to be guided through the process without being heavy handed.
Capturing highlights from the incident channel allows engineers to more quickly prepare for retrospectives.
The insights allow visualisation of almost anything we care to track.
The product has improved consistently since we started using it - and it was more than a solid offering 2-3 years ago.
The support and interaction with the Blameless employees has always been excellent.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I consider myself to be a "power user". I quickly bump into the limits of almost any software or system, especially when trying to automate things away. I've struggled in some of these areas, but the (growing) API has already proved useful, as well as some very exciting features expected towards the end of the year.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automating and guiding engineers through our incident management process.

  ### 38. Recommending Blameless

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathali A. | Software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

That is a powerful platform that we use all the time to handle incidents in a very fast and easy way, it is easy to understand and very intuitive.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

That we do not have (at the momen) one feature that allows us to alert through mobile app / phone call to the on caller, instead we are using another platform for that, so we depend of two different services.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to track the things that happens durint an incident and then to write better postmortems because I can get back to see the information stored, dates, time and activities.

  ### 39. Blameless is key to incident process, helping on daily basis to deal efficiently with all incidents

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clement S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 01, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The best thing about Blameless is the strong integration with Slack, providing the ability to deal with mitigation and communication directly within Slack. It is super helpful when quickly assembling a team to mitigate issues and to easily provide visiblity to everyone internally.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Giving the opporunity to everyone to join an incident channel on Slack and interact with Blameless, by adding a screenshot etc, it can be a bit tricky to keep an eye on user usage, as many participants are casual users.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless is helping to streamline the incident mangement process, making sure incidents get the right attention, to quickly assemble a team, to mitigate the impact and easily communicate with the business stakeholders about the status of the incident. Over the past 2 years using the product, it helped to reduce by 50% mean time to recovery. Blameless is also offering a good tools to run an efficient retrospective and its integration with Jira is really helping to follow-up on post incident action items. Finally, the Blameless APIs are also helping to collect data about incidents and run some high level analysis.

  ### 40. Great company with a great product!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jennifer L. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 04, 2024

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

FireHydrant teams listens to feedback and makes lots of improvements to their products via feature requests. Their customer support responds quite quickly.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Sometimes you need to use workarounds to make certain integrations work.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When an issue arises, being able to have everyone on the same tool, following the same process in a standardized way. Having integrations with Zoom and Slack and the ability to kick off an incident very quickly to investigate allows us to focus on mitigation.

  ### 41. Great Tool for helps Support Organizations manage and Streamline Customer Impacting Incidents !

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amr S. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Comms Flow - That feature allows our organization for further automate certain actions that usually would need to be manually done and that introduces possibility of mistakes , delays and failure.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I still don't understand how their licensing model works - however our CSM manager has been keeping us up to date on how this goes. I'd love to see an easier model that makes it easy to track subscriptions !

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

While technically - it used for incident management, weve modified the tool and built automations to leverage blameless functions to manage customer impacting incidents and making sure we bring in non technical teams into the mix ! This has streamlined our process across our organization where when an incident occur - all of our are notified and brought quickly to resolve the incident.

  ### 42. Effective incident and issue management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Matt J. | Head of Risk and Compliance, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless connects seamlessly with other tools, is fairly robust, customizable, features great reporting, and meets a variety of use cases for our company.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Blameless lacks some feature customization paths, but the team is receptive to feedback and regularly rolls out improvements based on feedback.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless helps our organization effectively manage urgent incidient breaks (app / web / backend service failures) and risk issues (regulatory gaps)

  ### 43. Great Incident Management tool

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kiran A. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The ease of use, especially the slack integration and how most of the work can be done from within the incident slack channel itself, without having to login to the UI.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

The reporting functionality can be much better. It's confusing to setup reports and we end up using an external tool to help with it. An additional ask would be to provide the ability to email the reports to a configurable set of recepients.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless provides us with an easy to use Incident Management tool.
Some of the useful features include:
1. the ability to add users/groups to an incident (upon creation)
2. sending out email notifications

  ### 44. Useful tool with good Slack integration, web UI could be better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Frank H. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

Blameless is a great tool to tie together our suite of tools and services for fighting incidents. Especially the great Slack integration makes sure I can focus on fighting the incident, and not on setting up tools.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Blameless also has a web interface that does some thing well, but also lacks in some other ways. I do like the fact that the interface is relatively clean, but there are some odd UX choices. For example small edit icons that are hidden on the right side of a form to 'unlock' it for editing. If you know about these, you can get used to them, but during an incident I'd rather not spend time looking through the UI to find an option.

Also, for retrospectives we have decided to slick with Confluence because of it's much better support for collaboration and discussion. I would advice Blameless to not try to match the features of Confluence here, but I would very much appreciate if they could more tightly integrate with Confluence so I can manage the retro in one place.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

During incidents we have many tools we need to use to support our on-call rotation, internal communication, external communication and retrospectives. Also, we need to make sure to gather data about our incidents for later reporting and reviews.
Blameless offers us an all-in one solution to tie together these different services in one, simple interface. Fighting an incident can be stressful, and having a single place to find all the information you need is essential. The automatic checklists and Slack integration also support you as an incident responder in doing the right thing at the right time.

  ### 45. Blameless Incident Response product is the best

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The enablement and help during onboarding from Balmeless' CS team was outstanding - they really helped educate and partner with my team on various enablement sessions. It truly felt like a partnership. Kudos to the entire CS org at Blameless.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

No major downsides to the product - in fact it is one of the best-in-class Incident Repsonse product out there

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlining Incident Response process across the org that helps with proactivce communication internally and externally with our stakeholders

  ### 46. Quite helpfull to formatting a postmortem in our usecase

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Transportation/Trucking/Railroad | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 11, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

it boasts a comprehensive task list, streamlining the onboarding process for any new team member. Additionally, it incorporates an extensive "N Why's" template, facilitating the exploration of in-depth causes behind incidents. The inclusion of a comments feature further enhances its utility, particularly during discussions surrounding retrospectives or post-mortems.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

We've encountered a recurring problem related to accessing retrospectives, which has been duly reported to the blameless team. However, a definitive estimated time of resolution (ETA) for the fix has not been provided. This issue has persisted for a considerable duration and appears to be affecting only certain users.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Implement a process standardization strategy that encompasses refining postmortem procedures. This involves streamlining formatting and providing clear guidance to engineers, ensuring a unified approach to reporting incidents and comprehending root cause analyses (RCAs).

  ### 47. Rockstars at Incident Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Guesly P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The easy to use UI + the simplistic configuration wizards that they have for setting up integrations and to get up and running in commanding your first incidents. The product is straight forward and easy to use and it keeps folks working inside the tools that they are used to using on a day-to-day basis.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

I wish the UI was a tab bit more polished when comparing to using it via slack but it's nothing that can't be fixed. Just some little browser kinks/bugs here and there.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless is helping us solve our automated communications problem and informing the teams that need to know about an incident in a quick and easy way. We see alot of productivity to come from Blameless

  ### 48. Flexible Incident Management Tooling

Blameless enables us to track both required and ad-hoc incident management tasks using the same interface.

No lock-in - you can use Blameless for retrospecives and reporting or export your data to another tool.

Excellent onboarding and support.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

UX is occasionally unpolished, but is improving.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Blameless automates common incident management tasks, enabling incident commanders to focus on coordination and resolution.

**Official Response from Aaron Lober:**

> We're glad to hear that Blameless has been able to save you time and improve consistency in incident management. Our goal is to provide a seamless experience for tracking both required and ad-hoc tasks, and we're continuously working to improve the user experience.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The people dedicate hans-on time to help onboard and continually support your incident management configuration needs.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

There are some additional features that we would like to see built into the product but their product team has been really receptive to these feature requests.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized incident managment. It benefits us by streamlining processes and improving efficiency.

  ### 50. Great product with excellent support!

**What do you like best about FireHydrant?**

The personal support from the Blameless team and response to feedback, issues, bugs, etc. is amazing.

**What do you dislike about FireHydrant?**

Some categories do not allow for customization to fit current process and you must adapt some parts to the Blameless structure.

**What problems is FireHydrant solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Incident Management, automation, and task prioritication
Incident Communication
Incident Data collection and analysis
All of these items allow response teams to respond faster, communicate effectively, and analyze incidents better. It reduces time incidents and allows us to be more effective in preventing same or similar incidents in the future.
