## Fingerprint Reviews
  ### 1. Seamless Fraud Prevention with Easy Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gianluca O.

**Reviewed Date:** February 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

I use Fingerprint for fraud prevention and for detecting account sharing or users trying to bypass bans on our website. I like how it improves the login flow and reduces friction for users by adjusting 2FA checks based on device recognition. It's easy to use and integrates well with the existing products we use, like AWS and Cloudflare. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

With the Pro plan, it offers a request count for iOS/Android apps. Since we're only a website, it would be nice if you didn't use iOS/Android that it could roll those requests into your total allowed before it starts charging per request.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fingerprint improves our login flow, reduces user friction, and enhances security and fraud protection by detecting account sharing and bypass attempts.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

I like how Fingerprint helps my bill-split tool quietly understand who’s using it without forcing anyone to log in and lets me spot duplicate or abusive usage to keep the service stable. It prevents spam or automated misuse and gives me a more accurate idea of real users while remembering small preferences for people across visits. It also makes it harder for someone to bypass and make every user different, all while keeping everything smooth and user-friendly. It's easy to integrate and use, and I appreciate how it can identify users, bots, proxies, and VPNs, which helps when my app is public and getting hit by unwanted requests. The initial setup was very easy too.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

I think it's better to increase the free limit, especially for small projects. Currently, it's limited to 1000 requests per month. Maybe it's better to try requests per day or per hour or something.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fingerprint identifies users without logins, detects and blocks bots and abusive usage, stabilizes my bill-split tool, prevents spam, retains user preferences, and maintains user-friendliness.

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

Fingerprint has been a highly strategic addition to our fraud prevention stack. The product is exceptionally well-designed, with a seamless integration experience and clear, developer-centric documentation that allowed our teams to go live quickly and confidently.

Beyond the technology itself, their customer success and technical support teams have been outstanding — responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in ensuring we extract maximum value from the platform. That partnership mindset made a meaningful difference in our implementation journey.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

At this stage, there are no significant drawbacks to highlight. The platform offers a robust and comprehensive feature set that has aligned well with our evolving fraud prevention needs.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At Zepto, we were facing a material fraud vector where users were repeatedly manipulating device identifiers to re-avail First-Time Buyer (FTB) benefits. This behavior resulted in measurable revenue leakage and operational overhead.

Prior to adopting Fingerprint, we relied on basic device signals such as device IDs and device codes. However, these identifiers could be easily altered using readily available tools, allowing sophisticated users to bypass our preliminary checks.

Integrating Fingerprint significantly strengthened our device intelligence layer. The platform’s ability to generate persistent, tamper-resistant device identifiers enabled us to detect repeat offenders with high confidence. As a result, we observed a substantial reduction in device-based fraud.

This has translated into:

Meaningful reduction in revenue leakage

Improved enforcement accuracy

Better protection of promotional integrity

Enhanced overall customer experience for legitimate users

From an engineering and business standpoint, Fingerprint has materially improved our fraud posture while maintaining a seamless user journey — which is the balance we strive to achieve at scale.

What I like best about Fingerprint is its exceptional effectiveness in detecting multi-accounting and preventing related abuse. It performs perfectly for this purpose. We also find it invaluable for payment risk assessment. As a bonus, the implementation was very straightforward.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

Honestly, for our specific use case, we haven't encountered any functional downsides. The only aspect to be mindful of is that the pricing can become a significant consideration at very high traffic volumes.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The primary problem Fingerprint is solving for us is multi-accounting. We were facing issues with users creating multiple accounts to bypass various limits and restrictions we have in place. The benefit is immediate and significant: Fingerprint accurately identifies these users, allowing us to effectively prevent this type of abuse.

  ### 23. Quick Setup and Easy API for Stronger Web App Protection

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

One downside is that the pricing is based on requests. If you have a web app that gets a lot of traffic, the costs can add up quickly. I’d like to see an option to set some limits or caps to help keep spending under control.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fingerprint helped us detect bots and other bad actors based on IP address, and we were able to integrate it into our custom-developed web apps.

  ### 25. Best-in-class device intelligence.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 02, 2025

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

What I like best about Fingerprint is its exceptional accuracy in generating stable, long-lasting visitor IDs often persisting for months without the typical cookie-based degradation. This has been a game-changer for our fraud detection workflows, allowing us to identify repeat offenders and multi-account abusers in real-time confidently. The integration was a breeze thanks to the straightforward API, and the clean, intuitive dashboard makes it easy to drill down into device intelligence for smarter risk decisions. We've seen an immediate ROI by blocking fraudulent transactions before they hit our system, saving us significant revenue while keeping legitimate users frictionless.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

The pricing can feel a bit steep once you scale beyond the starter tier, especially if your traffic is high-volume or you need the full Pro/Enterprise feature set (Smart Signals, velocity rules, bot detection, etc.). There’s no middle-tier plan, so you sometimes end up paying for the Enterprise tier just to unlock one or two advanced signals you really need.
Another minor pain point is that the open-source browser fingerprinting library (formerly FingerprintJS) occasionally requires small code updates when we upgrade other major dependencies it’s not a huge burden, but it does add a line item to our quarterly maintenance checklist.

Finally, while the dashboard is excellent, some of the deeper forensic details (raw hash components, incognito-mode confidence scores, etc.) are only visible via API or in exported CSV, not directly in the UI. It would be nice to have a “power-user view” inside the console for quick investigations without pulling data programmatically.
Overall these are small trade-offs for the accuracy and fraud prevention ROI we’re getting, but they’re the only things that keep me from giving it a perfect 10/10.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fingerprint is solving the core problem of anonymous user identity in a cookieless, privacy-first world specifically, reliably knowing when the same real person (or fraudster) is coming back to our platform across sessions, devices, browsers, incognito mode, VPNs, or even after they clear cookies.
The main problems it eliminates for us:

Multi-accounting & bonus abuse We instantly catch users who create dozens of accounts to exploit signup promotions. Before Fingerprint, we were losing six figures a year to this every quarter. Now we block ~95% of those attempts at signup or login without adding any friction for real users.

Account takeover (ATO) prevention The device intelligence + behavioral signals let us spot when a legitimate user’s account is being accessed from a new or suspicious device (e.g., emulators, datacenter IPs, mismatched geolocation/timezone). We trigger silent step-up challenges only when needed, cutting successful ATOs by roughly 80%.

Payment & return fraud. We link devices to past chargebacks or refund abuse. Users who previously committed friendly fraud now get auto-declined or routed to manual review, which has reduced our chargeback rate from 1.8% to under 0.4%.

Bot & scraper defense, The Pro plan’s Bot Detection flag catches almost all headless browsers and cheap botnets that used to hammer our price pages and inventory APIs. We went from thousands of fake sessions a day to near zero.

The benefit is simple: we’ve turned fraud prevention from a cost center into a direct revenue protector. In the last 12 months alone we’ve documented $1.2 M+ in prevented fraud losses and chargeback fees, while keeping conversion rates essentially unchanged because legitimate users barely notice it’s there. That’s an ROI that makes even our CFO smile.

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

I really appreciate Fingerprint's speed and simplicity, which make it user-friendly and efficient for handling tasks related to device identification and risk mitigation. The detailed back channel query for a given request ID is another standout feature for me. It allows zero trust on the frontend by profiling a request with a comprehensive JSON report. This report details the risk score, smart signals, IP, geolocation, and other crucial data, enabling automated decisions on whether to allow or deny requests. This level of granularity instills confidence in identifying and mitigating risks such as bots or VPN usage effectively. Setting up Fingerprint is also notably easy, making it accessible and convenient to integrate into existing systems. Additionally, Fingerprint has proven its value and effectiveness compared to other evaluated products, making it a worthwhile tool in our toolkit. I would highly recommend Fingerprint, rating it a 9 out of 10 in likelihood to recommend to peers.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

I find the handling of IP location velocity with Fingerprint problematic. The backend could improve by automating the assessment of time differences between requests from separate geolocations. For example, making it clearer when requests are flagged as 'impossible travel', such as an API call from Sydney, NSW followed closely by one from Hobart, TAS within a short timeframe. This could enhance risk evaluation accuracy.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Fingerprint for device identification and risk mitigation, including bot and VPN detection. Its detailed back channel query enables automated allow/deny decisions, enhancing security with zero trust on the frontend.

Overall, the combination of accuracy, reliability, and ease of integration makes Fingerprint an invaluable tool in our workflow.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

There is not anything major that gets in the way, but a few things could be better. The pricing can feel a little high if you are a smaller team or just getting started. I also wish the dashboard had a few more built-in filters and analytics options for digging into events without exporting data. And sometimes I would like more flexibility around how long data is retained.

This significantly reduces false positives and ensures that I can provide reliable and actionable analyses. Additionally, its initial installation proved to be very simple and quick, which did not overly disrupt my developers in their usual tasks.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

I would have appreciated more use cases and complementary workflow presentations with other tools. I find the tool so technically impressive that I am eager for new uses. The price is also a point to improve, with an initial fixed rate that does not allow much flexibility for an agency like ours.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Fingerprint for cross-domain tracking that enables features like shopping carts without login. Its clean interface and accuracy allow for intuitive navigation and reliable user identification, which reduces false positives and improves the quality of analytics.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Market Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

The API has been really easy to integrate with and the performance is excellent. We are getting very detailed information about the users on our platform. Our platform relies on ensuring users are legitimate as rewards can be attributed to responses so having detailed information about the user massively helps our fraud (and duplicate) prevention.

The setup was super easy and simple. Even including the custom domain for the package to stop it being blocked by ad blockers which was happening a lot in the early stages of our project.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

There isn't anything that we dislike about the product.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We need to be sure that users of our platform are unique and real. Fingerpint helps us identify duplicate users in a way that doesnt help bad actors get around the checks. It also gives us information about likely bots or bac actors such as VPN, Developer tools, proxies etc which are often key indicators that users of our platform are not legitimate. We have found with our testing that Fingerpint is much more accurate than other services that we had previously being using and has increased our bot detection rates.

**Reviewed by:** Henry L.

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Fingerprint?**

I like that Fingerprint is easy to use and comes with well-documented resources. The feature set is rich, and the powerful SDK can be effortlessly injected into any site, which is a huge advantage. Additionally, the bot detection feature is impressive as it ensures we receive high-quality data about who interacts with our ABM experiences. Identifying users across various experiences and websites significantly enhances our ability to understand the user journey, providing essential insights at every touchpoint. This functionality helps transform generic outreach into meaningful and engaging conversations, leading to more engagement and successful meetings. I also find it very easy to set up, which is beneficial for quick implementations.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

The pricing is quite high. For big enterprise customers that have millions of daily customers, running Fingerprint on every single page visit can become unsustainable due to the cost.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Fingerprint to identify and track unique users across personalized ABM experiences, enhancing user journey understanding. It's easy to use, provides rich user data, bot detection, and powerful SDK, improving engagement and conversions into meaningful conversations.

I appreciate Fingerprint for several reasons. The easy integration with both app and web platforms, including webhook coverage for the backend, is incredibly beneficial. The ability to identify users even when they are using a VPN is remarkable and significantly enhances our ability to triangulate IP traffic and map specific users, which helps in building user-specific functionalities. Additionally, I value the swift initial setup process; once we set up our account and keys and fetched the SDK, we could fully utilize Fingerprint's features within hours. Furthermore, the fact that Fingerprint allows us to uniquely identify the same visitor gives us the opportunity to build more products around free use cases and convert them to permanent users. It also provides the capability to early identify and block suspicious traffic at the client level. Finally, I value the frequent and valuable updates to the Fingerprint Web app and Dashboard.

**What do you dislike about Fingerprint?**

I have noticed over time that valuable updates are being added to the Fingerprint Web app and Dashboard. However, there is a lack of release notes or user guides to inform users about these updates. This makes it difficult to understand how new features can improve daily usage.

**What problems is Fingerprint solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Fingerprint uniquely identifies visitors, allowing us to build user-specific functionalities and convert free users to permanent ones. It effectively blocks suspicious traffic and integrates easily with apps, identifying users even over VPN, enhancing security and functionality.
