**What do you like best about Finch?**

Before Finch, our bookkeepers were spending a quarter of their time manually pulling payroll data for month-end close. With Finch's unified API, we've been able to automate payroll data ingestion across providers like Gusto, ADP, and Paychex, which means our team can serve more clients without burning out on repetitive reconciliation work. It’s helped us to maintain healthy margins and meaningfully impacted revenue. Finch's Implementation team was also very responsive, prioritized the features we needed, and worked with us through every step of the rollout. We're excited to build on this foundation as we expand into employee-level profitability reporting.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

What I appreciate most about Finch is how quickly and reliably it enables payroll connections. The initial setup takes only a couple of minutes, which is a dramatic improvement compared to the traditional STP process that often required weeks of back‑and‑forth and manual coordination. Finch streamlines access to employee and payroll data, reduces operational friction, and makes it significantly easier to deliver a smooth, efficient experience for clients. Overall, it transforms what used to be a slow, manual workflow into something fast, consistent, and easy to maintain.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

One downside I should mention regarding Finch relates to the assisted benefits connections. I understand that many of the delays or limitations are outside of Finch’s direct control; however, they still impact the overall service experience. 
Based on my limited exposure to this specific area, the results did not fully meet my expectations. As a result, I decided to pause the large‑scale use of the benefit‑update feature within the assisted benefits connections for the time being.

**What problems is Finch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finch is solving the complexity and delays traditionally associated with establishing payroll connections. What used to take weeks through the standard STP process can now be completed in just a couple of minutes, which dramatically accelerates onboarding and reduces manual coordination. By centralizing employee and payroll data from multiple providers, Finch eliminates the need for repetitive data collection, normalizes information that would otherwise arrive in inconsistent formats, and reduces operational friction across our workflows. This streamlined access to accurate, unified data allows us to work more efficiently, support clients more effectively, and maintain a much smoother overall experience.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

Finch has a great, supported onboarding process that makes it clear everything you need to integrate. They make best practices clear, and help you identify possible snake pits in the integration before you go live. The APIs are easy to use!

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

Inconsistent payroll provider support can be rough. We are on Rippling ourselves and Rippling is not well supported so it's difficult to dogfood the connection. This made our QA a bit harder.

**What problems is Finch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finch is helping us take deductions via payroll, which helps make financial flows for our product easier. They also help onboarding as a new customer can have the whole team on our product quickly if they connect their payroll via Finch. And then ongoing processes (employee adds or terminations) should help everything in sync, so the admin does not have to do much. Part of our pitch to businesses is we slim down the surface area of what you have to do for benefits, so it allows us to be consistent on that vision.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

Using Finch’s API has been an incredibly smooth experience. The integration process is straightforward and well-documented, saving our team countless engineering hours and allowing us to focus on building what truly matters for our product.

Finch’s attention to data depth, accuracy, and availability was a key factor in our decision to adopt their platform, and it has consistently exceeded expectations.

Their customer support is also exceptional: highly technical, responsive, and proactive. It feels like working with a true partner who understands both the technical and business needs behind every request.

Overall, Finch has become an essential part of our infrastructure and a team we genuinely trust.

There’s very little to dislike, documentation and support are great. If anything, I would appreciate even more real-world examples, like a mock application, using their SDK utilities to speed up learning and development further.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

The Finch team has worked very closely with our team to address all of our needs and explain whatever we didn't understand. They have been on top of telling us about outages, looking into issues, and letting us know about new features or future breaking changes. We have had ample time to prepare for changes and upcoming issues. The integration has also been incredibly stable and we have had no outages. The integration is also easy to set up and the front end components for the modal are incredibly useful. The dashboard to monitor activity has also been incredibly helpful.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

The api is still new in some ways so there are going to be more changes and updates that need to be accounted for than a more mature api interface. As long as your team is agile then it shouldn't be an issue.

**What problems is Finch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are allowing users to connect theirHR providers and invite those users into Mercury in mass. The active connections also let the users know when users should be removed from their organization and when new users are added. We also pull in department information and organization structure to allow for easy set up in Mercury. Finch allows us to make these connections in a stable way and provide support for tons of HR providers!

**What do you like best about Finch?**

Finch takes what used to be a slow, manual, and error-prone process of connecting to payroll systems and makes it seamless. As a small 401(k) recordkeeper, we rely on payroll integrations to keep employee contributions accurate and timely, and Finch handles the complexity in the background so we don’t have to. The API is straightforward, the coverage across payroll providers is excellent, and the support team is responsive and knowledgeable. It lets us focus on serving our customers instead of building and maintaining dozens of one-off payroll integrations.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

There really isn’t much to dislike at this point. Earlier on, we experienced some growing pains with data reliability and timing, but Finch has improved dramatically over the past year. The data is now consistent and on time, and their support team has been incredibly responsive and helpful whenever issues do arise.

**What problems is Finch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finch solves the challenge of connecting to multiple payroll systems without us having to build and maintain dozens of individual integrations. For a 401(k) recordkeeper like Saveday, that means employee contributions flow accurately and on time, no matter which payroll provider our customers use. This saves us significant engineering effort, reduces errors, and gives our clients a smoother experience when setting up and running their retirement plans.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

I have been using Finch for three years to pull HR information into our platform. I love how Finch provides a good API that enables seamless integration of HR data into our system, which is essential for our operations. We evaluated other vendors but chose Finch due to its superior capabilities for handling HR data. Setting up Finch was straightforward and easy, which made the onboarding process smooth. Finch provides us with a centralized point to connect to various HR platforms, saving us from the hassle of building individual integrations. This is crucial as we don't have the time or resources to connect to each HR system separately, especially given the sensitive nature of HR data. I am highly likely to continue using Finch and renew our agreement due to these extensive integration capabilities.

Before Finch, we had to build connections one at a time, which slowed us down and limited how quickly we could serve clients. Now, we can move faster and deliver more value without adding complexity.

It’s been one of those tools that quietly makes everything else work better. Reliable, easy to use, and backed by a team that knows their stuff.

Every now and then, we see some latency with certain payroll systems, but that’s usually on the partner side, not Finch. They handle those dependencies well and keep us updated when things happen.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

Finch has been a game-changer for us at Trainual. It allowed us to scale the number of HRIS integrations we offer without needing to manage individual APIs or build custom logic for each system. Once implemented, enabling new integrations is incredibly easy. Finch consistently comes to the table with creative solutions for expanding their coverage, and they’re always open to feedback on new providers to support.

Their customer support is also one of the best I’ve experienced. Their responses are always fast, thorough, and it's clear the team is genuinely invested in our success. The partnership has made a meaningful impact on our product and our customers.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

Most of my frustrations are pretty minor and seem to be actively improving. Some of the help documentation has been slightly outdated, which made it harder to find self-serve answers at times, but I’ve noticed recent improvements there. I also wish the dashboard offered more features—like high-level analytics on active connections or error trends—so we could better track adoption and issues without needing to dig for it.

Finch helps us solve one of the most painful parts of customer onboarding: getting employee data into our system. Before Finch, we were either asking customers to manually upload their people data or building time-consuming, one-off integrations to HR systems. Neither of those approaches scaled well.

**What do you like best about Finch?**

I have been using Finch for about two years at Morningstar to enhance our retirement planning products. I really appreciate how Finch enables us to pull data from multiple payroll systems, which was critical for us since we were struggling to get data from some record keeper clients. Finch's capability to gather comprehensive and real-time payroll data—including deductions, salaries, and contributions—allows us to provide more personalized retirement investment advice to our users. The ease of setup was noteworthy, thanks to Joe from Finch's developer success team who was fantastic at assisting us. Their responsive help and excellent API documentation made implementation a smooth process. I also find the Finch Connect feature to be intuitive, particularly for employers who can choose what data to share. Moreover, I am impressed with the wide breadth and depth of data Finch offers, and their continuous expansion of data sets, which are sufficient for our needs. This wealth of data also allows us to securely share pertinent information with our adviser clients who require it for their wealth businesses. Finch's ability to pull data directly from a client's payroll system is truly a game changer for the TPA industry. Obtaining clean and accurate data from our clients has consistently been one of our biggest challenges, and using Finch will make a significant difference in addressing this issue.

The setup process is easy and their support staff has been extremely thorough and patient to work with.  They are very responsive and quick to jump on a call with a client if there are any questions or issues.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

So far, I haven't found anything to dislike about Finch. I hope they keep expanding their network of providers, as this would allow us to use Finch's technology with an even greater portion of our clients.

Finch is addressing one of the most significant challenges in the TPA industry: poor data quality. Depending on plan sponsors to provide accurate and consistently formatted information for our year-end data requests has always been difficult. **What do you like best about Finch?**

We use Finch to connect to multiple HRIS systems and aggregate employee data for reporting and forecasting. The ability to fetch data from various systems in a standardized format significantly reduces the effort required to add new systems to our existing setup. 

Directing customers to their own authentication flows also eases the workload for our engineers, making integration with both customers and their partners a seamless process. 

As an admin, the experience is straightforward—you can easily review who is connected and how, manage and test new endpoints, and debug any issues that arise, with full visibility into vendor-side errors to help resolve and communicate them to customers programmatically. 

Additionally, working with Finch on contractual matters or off-contract support requests has been excellent, which is crucial for ensuring we provide quality service to our own customers. Yash, in particular, has made a significant positive impact on our relationship and daily operations. 

We rely on Finch weekly to onboard new customers, and our customers use it daily to retrieve data from their systems with minimal disruption or need for support.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

Not being able to access passthrough fields automatically makes the implementation of non-standardized fields require some engineering work. 

This is a trade-off with standarization, but something that would be extremly beneficial to build in the future similar to how they've implemented system's custom fields already. With this they would practically reduce to 0 any engineering involvement needed after setting up a connection to a new system.

Fetch data from mulitple HRIS systems into our own system, to enable our customers to access HRIS data for financial planning and reporting reasons.

While Finch's unified API is incredibly valuable, some of the provider-specific implementations can feel a bit inconsistent—especially when edge cases surface with lesser-known HRIS platforms. We’ve occasionally run into delays when troubleshooting these fringe cases. That said, Finch’s support team is responsive and transparent, and they’ve shown a strong commitment to addressing issues quickly when they arise.

I appreciate Finch for its strong data protection and security features, which are essential for securely accessing employee data from HRIS systems. As a benefits administration platform, we require regular synchronization between our platform and the employers HRIS system for new-hires, terminations, and contributions/deductions. Finch helps us do that using a normalized interface across both the major providers, as well as the long-tail of smaller, less technical solutions.

I've been using Finch for six months and I find it very helpful for pulling data from many different systems. This access to underlying employee and employer information facilitates precise payroll entries into our accounting system. It's a tremendous time-saver compared to building unique integrations for each system. I appreciate the responsive support team, who are always quick to address any issues and ensure smooth operations.

I find that Finch, while primarily focused on working with employee data, sometimes falls short when it comes to needing employer information as well. Our customers use Finchs' API connections every day thousands of times, and setting the up is extremely easy.
On top of this, we are really happy with the partnership in place with Finch. They provide a great support, and are willing to continue improving their product with our feedback.

Connections occasionally, unpredictably fail. Target SLAs for connections can be lengthy (24 hours to 7 days, depending on integration), but in practice are often much faster.

Finch and Thoropass have been partners since both were early stage startups years ago.  That means both companies and our relationship have seen a lot of changes over the years. When Sam Gurdus came on board as the head of customer success, him and the team really did an amazing job ensuring we were supported and we had a voice at Finch who helped address any needs we had.  We're able to quickly deploy new HRIS systems with ease and we're excited about the roadmap Finch has shared and grateful for including us in their roadmap and love working with their productg team.  Yash has been our dev success manager this year and he's great to work with and has really gone above and beyond constantly to help us have a successful partnership.

This is really changing now, but until somewhat recently we had less input into the product or opportunities to be interviewed by the product team. I appreciate how Finch is standardizing data from different providers. It's highly scalable, although we have yet to use it in production. I'm also glad to see the integration with multiple providers now available in the market. The support team at Finch has been consistently helpful and responsive to our questions and feature requests.

Many of the fields we receive are nullable, except for the internal IDs generated by Finch. This often leads to uncertainty about whether it will cause issues. As a result, it falls on the employer's team to address and resolve these issues, which can require significant discussions and effort on their side. This undermines the benefit of having a standardized, single platform to provide data for us to consume.

With Finch, we can access data from various payroll providers, such as ADP and Gusto, in a standardized format. Finch also caches this data, so we don’t experience downtime even if a payroll provider's system goes down for any reason. **What do you like best about Finch?**

Finch’s documentation is easy to follow, allowing us to test quickly before going live into production.  Integration was pretty easy and worked great.  Account team is very customer centric and always there to step in and guide us.

**What do you dislike about Finch?**

There isn't too much to call out.... I would like more proactive guidance and working sessions. Thankfully, the Finch team has carved out time to walk us through best practices and review new roadmap features with us.

**What problems is Finch solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finch can help us access critical employee and pay statement data without manually logging into multiple payroll providers. This is essential as we need year-to-date wages across different cost centers, departments, etc in a particular format. Finch makes accessing non-standard data across different payroll systems very easy, and can ultimately normalize that data for us.
