## About FileCloud
FileCloud is a hyper-secure EFSS (enterprise file sync and share) platform that provides industry leading compliance, data governance, data leak protection, data retention and digital rights management capabilities. Workflow automation and granular control of content sharing across most enterprise platforms is fully integrated into the complete EFSS stack. FileCloud is a leader in content governance and collaboration for unstructured data, trusted and used worldwide across Global 1000 enterprises, educational institutions, government organizations, and service providers. Granular control of content sharing is fully integrated into the stack through comprehensive audit logs and access permissions, and the Compliance Center helps with regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, and NIST 800-171 (among others). FileCloud also provides Zero Trust File Sharing® an industry-first innovation that allows users to share sensitive data via an encrypted zip file that cannot be accessed by unauthorized users, even in the event of a data breach. FileCloud helps customers solve complex challenges in enterprise file sharing, privacy, compliance automation and governance across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments. In addition to its enterprise file sharing solution, FileCloud’s product portfolio also includes Signority (acquired in May 2024), a Canadian-based e-signature and document workflow platform.

## FileCloud Reviews
  ### 1. Secure, Flexible, Yet Needs Smoother Collaboration

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avola R. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

I really like the full control over data and enterprise-grade security that FileCloud provides, which is essential for our B2B operations in Germany. Being able to host content on our own servers or EU-based data centers eliminates worries about data residency, third-party access, or GDPR compliance risks. This level of ownership gives me and our clients peace of mind. I also appreciate the flexibility and customization FileCloud offers. We can tailor permissions, security policies, and even branding to match our workflows and client requirements. Team members find it intuitive to use, and admins benefit from solid management tools for users, audit access, and enforcing security rules.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

I've noticed that some advanced collaboration features are not as fluid as we'd like. Real-time co-editing works but can be slower or less reliable with large files or multiple users. It's not quite as seamless as cloud-native platforms for teams working heavily on documents. There can be lag and slow loading when several users edit the same document simultaneously, causing delays, cursor freezes, or slow updates between users. Also, the initial setup was more involved than a standard cloud tool due to its self-hosted nature, which required more technical time and configuration.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileCloud solves issues with data control and security under GDPR. It lets us host data on EU-based servers for compliance, reducing legal risks. We securely share files with clients, reducing incidents, and maintain data ownership. It eliminates risks of public cloud use and enhances safe external collaboration.

  ### 2. critical data management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jayalakshmi D. | Senior Customer success Executive, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 16, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

It allows you to host everything on your own server, so you don't have to rely on Microsoft or any other company to maintain the servers and hope that they don't have large issues that prevent access to your files. As long as you can access your server, you can get into your files easily.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

Setting up complex sharing or granular permissions can be difficult and confusing. Some users report challenges with setting up on-premise environments, specifically with mounting drives on Mac or managing Docker images.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

solves critical data management, security, and collaboration problems for modern organizations by providing a secure, flexible Enterprise File Sync and Share (EFSS) platform.
Features AES 256-bit encryption at rest and SSL/TLS in transit, automatic anti-virus scanning, and ransomware protection.
Provides options for self-hosting (on-premises) or using regional data centers to ensure data stays under company control, critical for GDPR.

  ### 3. Secure and Flexible File Sharing with Minor Setup Snags

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alok T.

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

I really like FileCloud's powerful security controls and flexibility. It gives me confidence that our files are protected with strong encryption, detailed access permissions, and admin controls, while still being easy for my team to access and sync across devices. I also appreciate the option to deploy it in the cloud or on-premises, which gives us full control over our data and compliance. The balance between security, control, and usability is what stands out most to me.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

There are a few areas where FileCloud could be improved. First, the initial setup and configuration can be confusing, especially if you’re not very technical — it takes time to get permissions, sync settings, and integrations just right. Second, I’ve noticed occasional performance issues with sync speed, especially on larger file sets or custom environments. The mobile app feels less polished than the desktop/web experience, and some features (like advanced previews or offline access) aren’t as smooth as I’d like. Overall, these are not deal-breakers, but improving the setup experience and mobile functionality would make FileCloud much more user-friendly.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileCloud provides secure, centralized file storage and sharing, syncing files across devices, and enabling collaboration with strict access controls. It ensures compliance with data security through full control over data storage and access, reducing duplication, enhancing collaboration, and securing our data.

  ### 4. Secure file sharing with strong control, but admin settings and permissions can feel clunky

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nicole A. | Sr. Project Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 29, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

What I like best is that it feels safe and under your control. You can share big files without jumping through hoops, set simple rules like "only these people can see this", and if someone leaves a project, you can cut off access fast. It’s also nice that you’re not forced into a bunch of extra tools; it's mainly about storing, sharing, and keeping track of files without the chaos.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

It can feel a little “IT-y.” Some settings and admin stuff aren’t super intuitive, so you might need help getting it set up right.

The interface isn’t the slickest. It works, but it can feel a bit clunky compared to the big-name file apps people are used to.

Sharing/permissions can get confusing. If you’re trying to lock things down tightly, it’s easy to second-guess whether you set access the way you meant to.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Instead of files being spread across emails, random drives, and chat threads, it keeps them all in one spot. That saves time and cuts down on confusion. Also, You can send someone a link to a file or folder and decide what they can do (view, download, edit). That makes sharing faster without feeling risky.

  ### 5. Secure, Reliable, and Easy for Large File Sharing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dilip k. | Administrative, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 28, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

I like FileCloud's working principle and find it very useful for my work. I appreciate that it allows me to upload and share very large files easily, and I can access these files from anywhere without problems. The security sharing controls and the ability to grant access to non-users easily are big pluses for me. I also love that large file uploads, whether it's big files, videos, CAD files, or project folders, are smooth and save me time without the error messages I get with email for files being too large. Additionally, using FileCloud with Office Suites like Microsoft 365 makes it easy for storing, sharing, and versioning Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files centrally. Finally, I personally find FileCloud easy to use, and I think it's nice for all types of users.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

I find the learning curve for beginners a bit steep. The interface can feel complex at first, especially for those used to simpler tools like Google Drive or Dropbox. Some settings like permissions, user roles, and policies might take time to understand. Performance can be an issue with large folders too.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use FileCloud for safely storing and sharing documents. It provides secure backup and recovery, supports large file uploads, and offers easy access with security controls, which saves time and avoids errors.

  ### 6. Secure, On-the-Go Cloud Control with Easy File Sharing

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rahul G. | Senior Web Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

FileCloud has control over the data that we save on the cloud on the go means for the business I am using it, give control to me to whom I share that file either to a team or personal which is the best part of this also the security level is plus point which helps in securing the data we save.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

Everything is good except the user interface which looks old, also the pricing is liable for only the big enterprises. One thing more that mobile app has less feature than the desktop version has.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of managing data and data security. It helps me in managing data online and share it to the team only.

  ### 7. FileCloud: Secure, Flexible, and Effortless Document Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nikita R. | Business Development Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 09, 2025

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

FileCloud has been an excellent solution for our organisation, giving us the perfect balance of security, flexibility, and ease of use. I really value how much control it gives us over our data, especially with the option to self-host and manage permissions in a very granular way. Sharing files internally and externally is seamless, and the ability to customise the platform to reflect our branding has been a great bonus for working with clients. Overall, FileCloud has made our document management more efficient, secure, and user-friendly—I genuinely couldn’t be happier with the experience.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

While I really appreciate what FileCloud offers, there are a few things I’m not a huge fan of. The user interface can feel a little dated in places, and the initial configuration takes more effort than I’d like, especially if you’re running it on-prem. The mobile experience is okay but not as smooth as some other platforms, and the sync client can occasionally be a bit temperamental. None of these are deal-breakers, but they’re areas that could definitely be improved.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

FileCloud has helped solve several major challenges for us, especially around secure file management and controlled sharing. It gives us a central, reliable place to store documents while still maintaining full ownership and compliance, which removes a lot of the risk that comes with public cloud tools. The granular permission controls and audit trails mean we can confidently share files with staff, clients, and partners without worrying about data leaving the wrong hands. It’s also streamlined our workflow by making collaboration easier—everything from version control to external file sharing is more organised and transparent. Overall, FileCloud has reduced administrative headaches, strengthened our security posture, and made day-to-day document handling far more efficient.

  ### 8. Flexible Deployment with Exceptional Access Control and Audit Reporting

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2026

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

The best thing I like about Filecloud is that it's deployment flexibility; we can host it in our own premises or even in a private cloud. I also like their granular access and control and permission management. Their detailed audit logs and summarising reports are exceptional.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

Their initial setup was too technical and specifically for on-prem deployment. Advanced configuration for sure needed technical expertise. Mobile version still needs to be polished.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me in solving the problem of secure internal file collaboration. And also to have controlled external document sharing. It also solves the replacement of unsecured tools like consumer grade cloud storage.

  ### 9. Experience of working with FileCloud

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anubhav K. | Technology Analyst, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2025

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

What I appreciate most about FileCloud is the level of granular control it offers over user permissions and policies. The platform enables precise configuration for data retention, access control, and encryption, which is very useful. Its integration with Active Directory and other enterprise tools streamlines user management. Additionally, I value its automation features and API support, as these make it straightforward to connect FileCloud with other systems.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

One aspect I find challenging about FileCloud is the complexity of the initial setup and configuration, particularly when handling large-scale deployments or implementing custom integrations. Additionally, managing updates and maintaining compatibility between different versions often demands more manual work than I had anticipated.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool makes it easy to share large files and folders by generating links, eliminating the need to send bulky email attachments. In certain configurations, it offers unlimited storage and supports large file sizes, so you aren't limited by space or file constraints. It is accessible across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop clients, which enables teams to collaborate seamlessly regardless of their device. Additionally, it integrates with existing storage backends and identity systems, such as Active Directory or LDAP, as well as with various workflows and applications.

  ### 10. Easy File Access with a Simple, Intuitive UI

**What do you like best about FileCloud?**

It’s easy to access files, and the UI is simple and straightforward. The platform also offers robust security along with user-friendly features that make file sharing and collaboration smooth and convenient.

**What do you dislike about FileCloud?**

Sync speeds are slow, and the initial setup is more complex than it needs to be.

**What problems is FileCloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

secure file sharing, remote access, and data management for enterprises
