It seems they're trying, but with recent trends toward AI generated content, Turnitin is falling behind and slow to adapt to trends. Their product routinely flags legit content as AI generated and AI generated content as 'good'. They have a lot of work to do despite marketing that they have AI detection built in to some of their products. It's also a little too difficult to check things on a student's behalf. Ever since I used Turnitin in 2020 during my thesis, its accuracy and authenticity have developed my trust for continuing with Turnitin.

The submission process is straightforward and supports Word and PDF formats to check the uniqueness (Plagiarism). The detection process is authentic because the sources' links are strictly provided, and the text resembles the source. Additionally, it provides the highlighted portion of the text where we can easily find the corresponding source that requires the text's change. Turnitin should have separate and differential databases for each task/file submitted to check for plagiarism. This database is not merely separated but well encrypted so that the file, once submitted, should not be detected by any other powerful tool being used for checking the uniqueness of the text. I have used turnitin for over 5 years for checking similarity index of academic papers. The software is the coolest software for anti-plagiarism. It has a good interface that allows you to navigate easily , when you check a document for plagiarism the software gives you a report and a links to sources of the document. It uses several colours to differentiate sources of your paper. Its pricing is fair and flexible.
