Not being able to bulk redact and some miscommunication from Zapproved as to whether that's a capability they are going to introduce Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Exterro Legal Hold is a first-rate Legal Hold Notice management solution best suited for large enterprises and those with substantial legal hold obligations. Our Proof of Concept highlighted critical features we require at Nokia - including powerful configuration options, a robust Compliance Portal for use by Custodians, a critical Employee Change Monitor module, and the Export Compliance option. With configurability comes complexity, so training and support are important for best use of this complex product - and these have been provided by Exterro on reasonable terms. Exterro has a good administrative UI that makes it easy for IT to implement and even engage the business as owners of the platform.
The ability to extend the platform with custom fields was vital for our organization to be able to adopt the platform and maintain our operational practice.
The ability to manage cases, hold, and notifications with system automation is a huge help in our operations. Being able to visually account in the UI and with reports is already giving us the ability to assess our practice and discover areas of value.
Integration between the modules for navigation (Case/matter, Hold, and In place preservation) makes it easy to work though the lifecycle of a case and quickly tell where you are. We can consider new workflows that we didn't have before.
Exterro integration with O365 is very beneficial. Data source integration is a great help and almost a must have. Being able to track in Exterro rather than navigating to a different platform is a win.
Leveraging the cloud version of the application is fantastic as you continually get the latest and greatest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the automation is helpful there are still additional areas that would be great to see improved such as when additional datasources are added and need to be preserved.
We have also noticed some limitations when searching for various items in the platform...the inability to pick more than one item for a drop down when searching for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I enjoyed the ability to actively participate in the demo. I learn best by working through things, so this was definitely suited to my learning style. We were able to have our own test accounts and the ability to actually work through the platform. We were also extended the invitation to utilaize the ECM under our demo accounts for more practice with the tool. There was nothing that I can say that I disliked. The team was very friendly and took the time to answer questions, as well as slow down and repeat steps to ensure that we understood every step. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that it is able to integrate with Legal Tracker. This allows us to keep all our matters linked, so we can keep everything in sync with each other. I also like how easy it is to use and create a legal hold. The template feature is great and makes creating legal holds so much easier and faster. All our holds can be uniform, so that no matter is missing any important information because the template is already there for us to use. I really enjoy the escalation feature as well, as this helps keep everyone accountable for acknowledging and reading the legal hold. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, I do not like that we are only able to have one approver on a matter. We have a two verifier minimum on our legal holds, so it would be helpful for that limit to increase. I would like to be able to send it to my next level manager, then she approve it, then be able to send off to the attorney handling the matter next for approval and issuing. Another issue we have run into, is when my attorney is being assigned the task of approving, she is unable to go into the matter and edit the legal hold. It would be nice if she were able to do so herself, instead of having to reach out to me and make the edits before issuing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Legal Hold Pro is very easy to learn and administer. The available APIs help to ensure that our contact list stays updated and the matter templates make preparing and sending a legal hold a quick and efficient process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Early Case Assessments capabilities within the EDDM Module allow you to get a quick view of the data that will be collected to ensure initial keywords/date ranges are returning the appropriate results. It is also helpful to ensure the requested collection will not be overly burdensome to complete. In addition, the use of advanced searching and labeling is extremely helpful in culling our non-responsive content to reduce time/cost for review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Production elements can be linked to a particular matter, but unlike the other modules of Exterro (Legal Hold, ESI, etc.) you are unable to see matter associated productions from within the matter. In addition, if using a hosted environment, large productions could take quite a bit of time to download from the Fusion platform adding additional time and frustration.
