What is Exterro E-Discovery?

The Exterro Orchestrated E-Discovery Suite enables customers to manage, measure, and optimize e-discovery processes, unifying all phases of e-discovery across the EDRM, and all stakeholders on the same technology platform. Exterro’s e-discovery platform integrates the following technology: Exterro Legal Hold enables users to scope, create, distribute, and track legal hold notifications and defensibly manage the entire process. Exterro E-Discovery Data Management enables users to collect, process, review and produce electronically stored information as required under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. It is the only product on the market that enables the identification of responsive data prior to collection. Limited functionality in terms of larger scale projects - which is fine since we purchased it to manage first level review in house. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Exterro E-Discovery?

I used Zapproved's Legal Hold Pro to manage litigation holds. This tool is user friendly and has many great features that work well for me and my organization. We strongly value the option to remind custodians that their responses have not been received as well as the quarterly updates that a particular hold is still in place. What do you dislike about Exterro E-Discovery?

There are features I would like to see that LHP doesn't have as yet. However, Zapproved is constantly updating and improving the tool. I don't like that when a user edits a hold the sender is automatically changed to the person that made the edit. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Exterro E-Discovery:

Definitely recommend. Our transition to this software was smooth and both users and recipients love it. In particular, recipients like that they can see all of their litigation holds in one place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ability to perform full data collection or target the collection in order to look for more specific evidence.

Easily able to visualize evidence & collect from cloud sources such as Google or Office

What do you like best about Exterro E-Discovery?

I like that Exterro allows you to customize your legal hold process into one that works best for your company. Our company had quite a few requirements and Exterro matched all of them without any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Exterro E-Discovery?

There could be a few more customizable options when it comes to putting people on a hold, yet not requiring them to receive a legal hold notice. Though, I think Exterro is working on these types of customizations. Also, it should be noted that the version of the software that I use is quite old (4.10, and they are currently on 4.15, and will be releasing 5.0 in a not-so-distant future). Recommendations to others considering Exterro E-Discovery:

I think Exterro Fusion is THE answer to any legal hold solution questions simply based off of its customization opportunities. The ability that Fusion gives the user to tie in projects and trackable instances of each section of the legal hold process is something that can't be challenged. Having complete control of the custodian list and incorporating that with the HR data with nightly integrations adds a great deal of automation to the function that used to be completely manual. Also, the support offered by Exterro if/when there are any issues at all with the software is nice. Even though our time differences are pretty steep, there's always time for Exterro to answer my questions. The other piece of the company that is incredible is that I always deal with the same Project Manager, so I know she understands our needs and requirements each time we chat.
