Exterro has a good administrative UI that makes it easy for IT to implement and even engage the business as owners of the platform.
The ability to extend the platform with custom fields was vital for our organization to be able to adopt the platform and maintain our operational practice.
The ability to manage cases, hold, and notifications with system automation is a huge help in our operations. Being able to visually account in the UI and with reports is already giving us the ability to assess our practice and discover areas of value.
Integration between the modules for navigation (Case/matter, Hold, and In place preservation) makes it easy to work though the lifecycle of a case and quickly tell where you are. We can consider new workflows that we didn't have before.
Exterro integration with O365 is very beneficial. Data source integration is a great help and almost a must have. Being able to track in Exterro rather than navigating to a different platform is a win.
Leveraging the cloud version of the application is fantastic as you continually get the latest and greatest. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While the automation is helpful there are still additional areas that would be great to see improved such as when additional datasources are added and need to be preserved.
We have also noticed some limitations when searching for various items in the platform...the inability to pick more than one item for a drop down when searching for example. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The value offered by Exterro is unmatched in the industry. Exterro is core business partner of ours and we collaborate on new ideas to build features into their product road map. We use many products including Legal Hold EDDM Data Source Discovery Data Retention, Comprehensive Interview along with many other tools to manage our program. The firm has made a number of acquisitions and is still working through the growth issues of trying to integrate multiple platforms and teams of experts. The options for automated reminders, reporting, and escalations are very helpful. There are a number of features which make this tool very useful for the purposes we use it for. Enhancements would further improve this for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The formatting abilities for the messaging features is lacking; having the ability to create quality HTML messages to recipients which look professional are critical in this day and age. It is also frustrating to not have the ability to select a delivery time for future messages. Message delivery time can greatly impact the open rate and interaction of the recipient with that message, so having no control over what time the message is sent from Exterro is frustrating. Customizing the messages for our business is important given our internal security and training in spotting Phishing and spam email content. It would also be helpful if Exterro had features to track if messages had been opened, the way that other email delivery tools are able to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
