Exasol is a very good tool for processing large amount of data, it also allows miutiple users to work on data without compromising the query performance. Exasol also allows integration with other programming languages like python and Java Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Exasol does not really have a drawback except that it can be a little expensive for companies just starting out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There is an open source version to allow you to play around with and learn the technology. Of course there is a commercial version as well. It also has on premise and cloud options.
The claim to be extremely fast with large data sets. I wasn't able to test this. I can say that their sql was standard and easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing stood out as a negative. They don't seem to have too large of a presence in the US market Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We definitely like Exasol's performance best. We use Exasol as the backend for our reporting and BI tools and as such it has proved to be incredibly fast and scalable even for tables > 1TB in size. And not only is querying fast but data imports are fast too. We regularly see import speeds of 100MB/s. This allows us to keep it updated in real-time with our operational databases.
A close second is the low maintenance. Queries rarely have to be tuned and, other than periodic upgrades, we've found the system itself to be almost maintenance free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's hard to find anything in particular to dislike. Whenever I run into a problem their customer service is always prompt and open about discussing and acting on it if it makes sense. They are also transparent about their roadmap so you can see when issues will be fixed and addressed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Indexes are maintained automatically lowering the overhead for management. Queries are extremely fast compared to our previous SQL Server data warehouse solutions. We throw very complex queries at it every day using tables with hundreds of millions of records and it runs like a champ. Exasol scales out by parallel processing queries across multiple server nodes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
You have to learn Lua as it is the back-end scripting language. I'm hoping at some point Exasol will support Python for scripting. Python (among other languages) is already supported for user defined functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Oracle like syntax, fast performances with hundreds of terabyte of data, easy to maintain and configure, but what is even more impressing if the attention reserved to their customers. Their training are quite useful to be quickly up to speed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Scripting is a bit cumbersome at beginning (requires LUA), but we were able to handle that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
