  ### 6. Soaring with Esper: A Lesson in Mobile Device Mastery

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeremiah S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

In a landscape brimming with mobile device management solutions, Esper notably stands tall, proving itself as a giant with strengths that cater to various user needs and preferences.

(1) User-friendly Interface
From the get-go, Esper presents itself with an intuitive user interface that welcomes both the tech-savvy and the beginners. Its cleanly designed dashboard and easily navigable menus made the task of managing multiple devices not just simpler but, dare I say, quite enjoyable.

(2) Continuous Upgrades and Updates
Esper’s development team is evidently relentless in its pursuit of perfection, rolling out updates that not only enhance performance but also introduce new features that keep it ahead in the competitive market. This forward-thinking approach ensures that users have access to a product that is constantly evolving and adapting to the changing landscape.

(3) Versatile Device Compatibility
Esper plays well with a plethora of devices, a feature that stands it in good stead especially in diverse device environments. Whether it was an Android tablet, a smartphone, or even a non-standard device, Esper seamlessly adapted, demonstrating an admirable level of versatility that is indeed a testament to its robust architecture.... I just wish you did iOS and other operating systems.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

As impressive as Esper has proven to be in the mobile device management sphere, my journey wasn’t without its turbulence. I encountered a few rough patches where I felt Esper could undeniably enhance its offerings to reach the epitome of user satisfaction.

Pricing Structure
While Esper offers a solid range of features, its pricing structure leaves room for improvement. I found myself wishing for more competitive pricing tiers, especially for educational institutions and non-profits, sectors that could greatly benefit from more budget-friendly options.

Customer Service Post-Contract
My initial interactions with Esper's customer service were promising, with responsive and knowledgeable representatives. However, post the one-year contract signing, I noticed a significant dip in the level of attention and promptness in responses. It was somewhat disheartening to experience this change, and I hope to see Esper take strides in maintaining consistent customer service quality irrespective of the contract stage.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A one-stop shop for managing a fleet of Android phones released around the world. Once the devices are in the field we (the administrators) do not touch the devices, so everything needs to be EASY and remotely controlled.

  ### 7. Great tool for handling phone deployments

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Logistics and Supply Chain | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2024

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Being able to deploy the OS to phones without many touches. Administering each phone via web browser is really great. Different blueprint builds is very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

File transferring to current versions of Android OS. There should be some way to get around the security imposed on system folders for Android. We cannot transfer files that esper puts on the device if its in the secured android folders. this is more an android issue, but i would think Esper would find a way to deal with this.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see, track and document where our phones are, how many we have and how many are acutally being used.

  ### 8. Billing is not accurate. System does not remove Devices very easily.

A few improvements are required in Remote viewing and analytics part.

It allows to install apps across all devices with very less effort.

  ### 11. GOOD FUNCTIONALITY BUT PAYMENT STRUCTURE IS TERRIBLE

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lea R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Easy to use interface, very easy to onboard a device as well. Our support team does use the platform regularly with no pain points.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I think we were told we would be able to remotely access devices in real time with visual of what is on the device, this is not the case. The payment structure is what will drive us away, it's absurd for us to pay for tons of devices in advance, other MDM's allow us to purchase licenses in small batches or as we go.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to work with different devices with Android OS, ease of implementation and boarding a device.

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

I love that I have the ability to assist my patients with a hands on view of exactly what they are looking at, as opposed to feeling my way around in the dark trying to help them, which can be super frustrating for the patient.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

There can be latency issues from time to time, but for the most part it is nothing horrible.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When our patients have issues with the tablets that we send them to monitor their health from home, Esper allows us to be able to log into the tablets so that we can actually see what the patient sees. It is a huge help, especially when dealing with older patients who are not always tech savvy.

**Reviewed by:** Chris O. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

I really like the groups function and visibility of names, serial numbers and location of all of the devices. It is helpful to have everything listed about the device for clarity and communicating with other about which one you are referring to.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Pipelines are probably the least helpful in the Esper software. If a device loses wifi connection even for a little bit, it can disrupt the push setting out to the device.

Esper is helping me with the ability to have android devices in Kiosk mode while still allowing certain apps to be accessed by the user. It is also helping me with remote device management, like wifi settings and history logs.

**Reviewed Date:** January 03, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Rest everything's great except dislikes however I like how there's many feature's to see the information of the kiosk and how easy it is to use.
i would say it's good but not great but better than compitetors except Teamviewer.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Can't take multiple remote control, remote connection is slow and there's no option to simply lower the quantity of the remote so one can finish the task more quickly & effectively.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Solving client issues while taking remote control and seeing the issues they face with our applications.

**Official Response from Ananya Patra:**

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Seems like everything needed in an MDM is all there. Whereas some platforms like Elo don't allow RM features or Samsung's MagicInfo barely works at all... esper seems to be much more advanced.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I think it could be more of a knock on our team is uploading builds but I was overwhelmed but the number we had and wished I could've filtered results a little more.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to monitor, maintain, and update our app across 100 clients and their hardware.

  ### 32. Best , most underrated Mobile Device Management ever.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** arjun s. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Been using several MDM softwares, did a test of all the products available in the market. Benchmarks were user friendly, latest programming coding/language and database, reliability, server response timings, and they did the best of the entire lot. It truly is very underated and a matter of time before it catches on as the leader in MDM softwares. Highly recommended.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Nothing at all, there are constant updates and improvements and they have thought of it from all angles, permutations and contingencies.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Their documentation and user guide is simple yet comprehensive. Their tech support is responsive. They have an extensive knowledge base on their product. They have API integrations for developers as well, not many MDM softwares have this.

  ### 33. My teams love using Esper and it really makes their job much easier.

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Remote view ease of use that allows Technical Support teams to solve problems with ease.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Not a real downside on Esper side, but the remote implementation can be time-consuming.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing quick and efficient support to our partners.

  ### 34. Great product all in all

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

The UI of Esper is great and is easy to navigate between the different tabs. There are usually no connection issues or errors when utilizing the RMS tool. Using Esper and about 6 other RMS tools, Esper rates high in comparison to the rest.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

The only suggestion I have about the product is the navigation in the sub-tabs. That is, after clocking into a tab, it is not clear how to navigate back and forth within this certain tab.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is solving the issue of not being able to physically troubleshoot sofrware issues that are ocurring at clients' location across the country. It makes it easy to have eyes into the product at all times.

  ### 35. Good choice for MDM

  ### 36. Esper - Expressiveness, so TRUE!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joselyn R. | Customer Care Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

I love how you can see in real-time how the person interacts in that way, you can guide them right away and determine what the error was to help you resolve the technical concern in a timely manner.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

The remote time is only for 15 minutes max. I hope that the Esper Tech Team can extend this. As for me working in a Tech company and helping merchants do the Tech Demos, it should be real-time, and it takes a few minutes to connect again (Probably this concerns the connectivity issue). But hoping to extend the remote time. Also no timeline for when you change the device id, like what was the first device, then it was changed to this, and then after that and so forth.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can see the real-time technical problem of our app; therefore, we can escalate the concern to our Technical Team and resolve it right away. This is very beneficial for me, especially for us working with a Tech company

**Official Response from Ananya Patra:**

> Hello Joselyn,

We are delighted to hear the value Esper is adding to your work. Your feedback on our remote control feature is greatly appreciated, and it will definitely help us in enhancing our products even further. We have shared your concerns with our product team, who are committed to continuously improving our products to meet your needs.

Once again, thank you for your support and for choosing Esper.

  ### 37. Thank God you exist!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Primary/Secondary Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

The platform is simple and intuitive to work with. It has the essential features for a good Android MDM operation, and we can quickly control several devices. The support is excellent, and very comprehensive.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I have nothing to dislike, because in my case the platform has everything I need, simply 5 stars.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed of configuring Android devices is impressive. Instead of spending 30 minutes on each device, I can now have the device ready for a new user in just 5 minutes. When there is a configuration change to make, instead of doing it one by one, I can do them all simultaneously. This is a great time optimization, I even have time to go for a swim at the beach, hehehe."

  ### 38. "Esper-One Of The Best MDM Solutions, Easy To Configure With Good Documentation"

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joe C. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

The three main points I like about the product are ease of enrollment for devices. The ability to get information from endpoints, such as their OS version, distributing apps. Can target specific users/groups

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Our organization only needed a few features Esper offered. No dislikes,

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Esper software is able to change links/shortcuts on many devices at the same time to keep things consistent.

  ### 39. Good functionality and great support

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Easy to understand user interface. The web interface to handle devices is intuitive to the point where you don't need to read the manual to know what you need to do to accomplish your goals.

Access to API means you are able to automate tasks and integrate control into other applications.

It is easy to get in touch with support or the account manager. And they are always friendly and helpful.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Esper's server location is quite far from our area of operations; this leads to a high ping which causes some delays when working with the web interface and other tasks that go through the servers.

It would be nice to have an option for MFA login. Currently, there's support for signing in with google, which is great, but there are still some features that need login with username/password.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper is solving the problem of managing edge devices running Android. We can easily update software on these devices, and Esper enables us to debug issues that arise without the need for the devices to be shipped to the workshop.

**Official Response from Ananya Patra:**

> Hello There,

Thank you for your positive feedback regarding the Esper interface. We are pleased to hear that it is easy to understand and use. Your feedback is valuable to us as it motivates us to keep improving our products and services.

In regards to your concern about login procedures, we are happy to announce that we have recently rolled out Single Sign-on (SSO) login for all our customers. You can find the SSO set-up process document at https://help.esper.io/hc/en-us/articles/12656795558545-Setting-Up-Single-Sign-On-SSO-

Moreover, we would like to let you know that Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) login is currently in our product roadmap, and we will notify all our customers as soon as it is released.

Once again, we appreciate your feedback and thank you for choosing Esper.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I think I has to do more about our clients Internet, but esper sometimes takes some time to load the remote control function, or not connect at all.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to help our clients confirm their online orders or notify them when ever they having a pending order by using the remote control function.

  ### 41. Fantastic Management Platform for Android Devices

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bill T. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2022

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Esper caters to Android devices and offers the most flexible solution while controlling assets. In addition to custom APKs and Play Store apps, you can create custom web apps which have been very helpful. Device labeling appears on the screen, which is excellent compared to printed labels for assets. Remote viewing devices through the console makes troubleshooting or assisting users possible without needing a 3rd party subscription. Support for kiosks and those with multiple apps, plus the ability to provide access to select device settings, ensure users have access to everything they need to utilize the device more completely without sacrificing security. Support has been excellent, and Esper takes feedback and acts on it. Bugs are fixed, suggestions are acknowledged, and they make their way into development if they add value.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

There is no mobile app for management or a mobile version of the management dashboard; you must use the desktop site. Blueprints do not always apply and may require multiple deployments. While you can update some items individually while viewing a device record, several settings can only be toggled in a blueprint that involves editing and applying, which isn't as convenient. For example, I've duplicated a group and blueprint but toggled settings to allow the Notification Bar to allow File Transfers while connected by USB since disabling notifications doesn't allow toggling how the USB connection is utilized. There is no way to view your apps or app deployments. You can redeploy a blueprint or use Pipelines to ensure apps are pushed out, but if you want to see what devices or devices in a group have what apps or a specific app, you must view the device's Apps tab. Some dashboard screens are windowed with their scrollbars like iframes and are awkward.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper's platform makes Android device management more accessible and has worked well for our needs. The functionality is much better than the MDM/EMM solution I was using for Android. Currently using for MDM/EMM/MAM purposes and will look at digital signage capabilities later.

since the pandemic the way we do things change, and till that moment I have the necessary to look for a company like you guys, i love the way you allow us to have full control of our devices and modify the factory features that we don't need.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

technology is not perfect, something we're facing issues with the remote viewer, I know it depends on the internet speed, but I tested with tablets and I tested the internet at more than 50Mbps in each device, so I'm not 100% sure how it works, if you could do something to improvise remote viewer, it will be perfect.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

since the pandemic the way we do things change, and till that moment I have the necessary to look for a company like you guys, i love the way you allow us to have full control of our devices and modify the factory features that we don't need.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Nothing as of the moment, my experience with Esper has been nothing but great, rewarding when it comes to onboarding new clients because everything is being provided virtually to them with the help of Esper.

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Through the application, I can monitor, track, remotely manipulate devices from a distance, execute and install the apps I want, and order and organize the desktop I want to be displayed on the device.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I have nothing bad to say because truly esper has many virtues that make it a super powerful, robust tool that we have to exploit.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Right now we are using it only on smartphones, tablets, and devices with Android like TV boxes, Minix, etc., to install and run a commercial app and monitor that the device is okay in terms of connectivity and that the app is functioning correctly.

  ### 47. Great Tool to handle a fleet of mobile devices

The platform is friendly, scalable, practical. Allows you to manage android devices without affecting their performance. It is adjustable, it allows to apply to new versions of android

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

It does not have a kiosk mode that allows you to keep an app in the foreground. This function must be enabled in order to give more benefits to the platform and that it allows to adjust by time.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

he Esper team was asked to include a kiosk mode that allows to keep an application in the first plane controlled for a time that can be defined by the end user.

  ### 49. Esper makes my life easier!

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Being able to remotely access our customers accounts and make sure that they are up to speed with their tablets and that they are always online.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Probably the shutdown time when remotely accessing devices and the difficulty of renaming device IDs on Esper. I wish there was an easier way to locate devices other than just the device ID.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making sure that no orders are missed and that the stores' devices are always online by monitoring them using Esper.

**Official Response from Ananya Patra:**

  ### 50. Fast clean and effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** matthew w. | Automation and Controls Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2022

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Does what I want it to without having all the complexity and plain bloat of other MDM platforms. I like having the API for does periodic reporting, and in the future I see integrating with it to automate tasks.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Lots of small annoyances. Alias name being truncated on the device list is highly annoying, especially with multiple devices with the same basename. Tasks are lacking some visibility. I understand as they are asynchronous to the web interface, but it would be nice to list pending tasks for a device. The event feed sort of shows this, but you really have no idea if there is a queued task for an offline device or the like. The map on the dashboard needs the pins to be labeled. And I have not checked in a while, but I think the API does not allow accessing location data? There are randomly failed tasks from device provisioning to application deployment. We just try it again and it works. But, it does make updating our application across all devices a pain.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is an MDM tool mainly for our delivery tablets. It locks the tablet down, provides a way to push our app out, and provides reporting for the tablet. We deployed our tablets and Esper at the same time.
