## Esper Reviews
  ### 1. Seamless Device Management with Stellar Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomas P. | Intermediate Full-Stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 26, 2026

**What do you like best about Esper?**

I like using Esper for organizing over 100 devices by groups, which is very helpful. The device blueprints with preset configurations are quite nice and simplify setups. I also appreciate the Managed Configurations as they let us authenticate devices remotely without needing staff credentials. Additionally, the API integration allowing us to have health checks on our own panel is really beneficial. The initial setup of Esper was easy enough, and their support and sales team is fantastic, which adds to the positive experience.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

WiFi credentials for enterprise networks do not work out of the bat. Preset WiFi credentials for the devices are great, but we can't make them work for enterprise networks. We have to provide the devices and have someone on the field at our clients' installation to set their WiFi network, or sometimes use hotspots to provision the devices initially.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Esper for app deployment directly to our own mobile devices, managing over 100 devices by groups, and pre-setting configurations with blueprints. It lets us provision new devices with our app without going through app stores and manage devices remotely.

  ### 2. Effortless Device Management with Esper

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad P.

**Reviewed Date:** January 23, 2026

**What do you like best about Esper?**

I like how easy it is to use Esper and how easy it is to update the blueprint and do app updates. With other MDMs, it was really painful to go in and do app updates or changes to settings, and it wasn't really clear how that worked. Esper makes it really easy to just go update the blueprint really quickly and then do a converge. The initial setup was pretty easy. I didn't have any difficulties with it. It was easy to learn and get on board.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I think that some of it's a little cumbersome, and it's not clear what some of the terms mean. The word 'converge' is kind of a funny term and that's caused some confusion within our company and with our customers.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper keeps all our devices in sync with specified settings and apps. It simplifies app updates on Android and allows our support teams to remote control devices, which is really helpful.

**Reviewed by:** Iván O. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

In my experience with them, customer support is truly awful. They don't listen to problems; they just send standard emails without any solutions. When an email arrives that seems to be from a person, they aren't even able to give clear instructions.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Customer support. It seems like you're dealing with AI instead of people.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bulk device configuration, application distribution, remote control of devices.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

The availability to view past events would be a great improvement, this would expand the usefulness of remote viewing far beyond just monitoring the present.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Printer issues, connectivity issues, troubleshooting, and remote view of our devices help make our job more accessible and more productive.

  ### 8. Esper review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sampath K. | Customer success manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Esper?**

What I appreciate most about Esper is its proactive and collaborative work culture. The team is incredibly supportive, and there’s a strong emphasis on continuous learning and problem-solving. The leadership is approachable and encourages innovation, which makes it a great environment to grow both personally and professionally. Additionally, the company’s focus on customer success and delivering high-quality solutions truly sets it apart.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Honestly, there’s nothing specific I can point to as a dislike. My experience so far has been positive, and I truly appreciate the supportive environment and opportunities for growth. If any challenges arise, they’re usually addressed promptly, which speaks volumes about the company culture.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper is helping streamline the management of Samsung tablets and A1 terminals by providing a centralized platform to access devices remotely, push software updates, and maintain device performance. This reduces the time and effort needed for manual updates and troubleshooting, ensuring that devices stay secure, up-to-date, and fully functional — ultimately improving operational efficiency and user experience.

  ### 9. Reliable Device Management Platform with Strong Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nabi R. | Logistics and Hardware Manager, Restaurants, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2025

**What do you like best about Esper?**

Esper makes managing a large fleet of devices effortless with its clean UI and powerful remote access tools. We especially appreciate the ability to push updates, run commands, and troubleshoot devices without needing physical access. Their customer support is responsive and helpful, and the platform itself is very stable. The dashboard gives great visibility into device health and status, which helps in proactive troubleshooting.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

While the platform is strong, we’ve noticed occasional sync delays when deploying new configurations across multiple devices. Also, a more detailed activity log for each device would be useful in tracking changes or failures. Apart from that, the experience has been smooth overall.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper helps us manage and support hundreds of Android devices remotely, which solves the challenge of physical troubleshooting and manual updates. It allows our support team to quickly access, diagnose, and fix issues without needing on-site visits. This has significantly reduced downtime, improved our response time, and lowered operational costs.

**Official Response from Madre Roothman:**

> Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback and for highlighting how Esper has helped streamline your device management and support processes 🎉
We’re thrilled to hear that the remote access tools, dashboard visibility, and overall stability have been valuable for your team.

We also appreciate you pointing out the occasional sync delays and the need for more detailed activity logs. I’ve shared this with our product team, and we’re continuously working on improvements in both areas to make configuration deployments smoother and provide better visibility into device-level changes.

Your input is incredibly valuable to us!

  ### 10. It didn't quite work for us.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ivan M. | Solution Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 18, 2023

**What do you like best about Esper?**

The only new thing I can mention is that I was able to download some reports about the tablets that I needed. Unfortunately, it's the only new relevant thing I can mention.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Unfortunately, it was getting too expensive versus the benefit we could really provide for our partners, so we decided just to do troubleshooting without the need for Esper, and it has worked just fine.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Troubleshooting for busy restaurants who don't have the time to be following steps to fix things. Remote access has saved us a lot of time and has improved our customer satisfaction.

  ### 14. A Powerful Device Management Solution with a Learning Curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Luiza C. | IT Director, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Esper?**

What I like best about Esper is how intuitive and powerful the platform is. It makes managing and updating a large fleet of devices straightforward and efficient, even for a small team. I especially appreciate the level of control it provides — from deploying apps and pushing updates to remotely troubleshooting issues in real time. The user interface is clean and easy to navigate, and their support team is always responsive and knowledgeable. It’s helped us streamline operations and improve the user experience for everyone relying on our devices.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

While I really appreciate Esper overall, one thing I dislike is that some advanced features can feel a bit complex to set up initially, especially for teams without dedicated IT support. The learning curve for certain functions — like setting up custom policies or advanced remote commands — can be a little steep. Also, occasional delays or glitches during large-scale updates can disrupt workflows. However, once you get familiar with the platform, these challenges become much more manageable, and the support team is always helpful.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

"Esper helps us solve the challenge of managing a large fleet of devices spread across different locations. Before using Esper, it was time-consuming and difficult to update apps, push security policies, or troubleshoot devices remotely. Now, we can quickly deploy updates, lock devices into kiosk mode, monitor performance in real time, and resolve issues without needing to physically access each device. This has saved us significant time and operational costs, improved security, and ensured a smoother experience for our end users."

  ### 15. Great tool to work with!

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

The pricing becomes less favorable when scaling from “a few hundred” to “thousands” of devices.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It really helps me troubleshoot a lot a problems that restaurant owners may encounter with our tablets that can be resolved quickly over the phone without having some to go deal with it in person.

The platform provides helpful customer support in addition to a responsive service that delivers an excellent user experience.

I have not encountered significant drawbacks during my experience. Support personnel at the company manage minor problems while the system operates effectively.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The system enables me to decrease the need for remote access as well as corporate app installation along with device monitoring capabilities. The tool enables users to handle corporate devices from a distance with no technical problems while keeping devices up-to-date and secure and operating without complications. ### 18. Makes managing multiple devices surprisingly easy and stress-free

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about Esper?**

We were looking for a way to simplify device management across a growing fleet, and Esper really stood out. It was surprisingly easy to deploy devices remotely, even for non-technical team members. I really like how clean and intuitive the dashboard is — everything from configuring settings to pushing updates feels straightforward. Being able to monitor device health and send updates remotely has saved us a lot of time and reduced headaches. It also integrates nicely with the tools we were already using, which made adoption quick and painless.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Honestly, there’s not much to dislike. If I had to pick something, I’d say that the first setup took a little longer than expected because there are a lot of customization options. It’s not difficult, but it does require some patience to really fine-tune policies to your needs. Also, I wish there were a few more advanced reporting features out of the box, but it’s not a dealbreaker. Overall, small things compared to the time savings we gained.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Esper helped us streamline the management of a growing fleet of Android devices across multiple locations. Before, updates and troubleshooting were a nightmare and required manual work. Now we can push updates remotely, monitor device health in real time, and ensure everything stays compliant with our company policies. It’s saved us a ton of time and made device management way less stressful for our team.

**Official Response from Madre Roothman:**

> Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear that Esper has helped simplify your device management and made remote deployment easier for your team — especially for non-technical members. It’s great to know that the clean dashboard, seamless integrations, and remote update capabilities are saving you time and reducing complexity.

We also appreciate your feedback on the initial setup and reporting features. We’re continuously working to make onboarding faster and exploring enhancements to our reporting capabilities, so your input is incredibly valuable to the product team.

We’re glad Esper has been a good fit for your growing fleet and look forward to supporting your continued success!

  ### 19. Updates to the system made in increasingly harder to use.

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Automotive | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Esper?**

They seemed to make changes just for the sake of making changes. Geofence is not accurate. They had a free 100 device plan and decided out of nowhere to no longer honor that plan. I did not find the product worth the money

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

They made it harder to use and changed the security settings which gave less control

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Managing all my devices in one place, faster setup, pushing updates remotely to all devices, securing the devices, and helping make the devices professional looking.

**Official Response from Darin Herleikson:**

> We're so excited you're satisfied with Esper!

Getting the Play Store running requires a couple setup steps ahead of Provisioning to ensure that you're connected and able to use Play Store applications on your device.
1. Ensure you've enrolled your Esper tenant in the Google Play Store using an email address ending in "gmail.com". You can check out this great video here: https://vimeo.com/756927037
2. Approve the Play Store Apps you want available to upload to your devices, or allow your users to download if you've granted access to the Play Store. Here is a great guide on app approval: https://console-docs.esper.io/apps/approveapp.html
3. Select your Approved apps during the provisioning process!

Regarding the Samsung devices, we have 8 different ways for you to provision your devices to ensure that we can accommodate a wide range of hardware types. https://blog.esper.io/android-provisioning-options-available-on-esper/

If you're still having trouble with the Samsung hardware, please reach out to our Support team at support@esper.io with your hardware information and they'll be happy to assist!

Thank you for the review!

Once setup you don't really have to worry about it too much as it locks the devices down exactly how you want them and can send Geofence alerts when the device has been taken away from its designated workplace.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I only require a few licences, but the 'Self-serve' feature enforces a minimum of 25 clients unless you contact support. However, after contacting support, they confirm that you are still required to purchase a minimum of 25 licences.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were evaluating several device management systems for growing business need. Among the final candidates, Esper beat all others in every single aspect in which we evaluated and were interested in. Apart from that, the platform is able to deliver the functionality providing a smooth and straightforward experience.

The setup process was reliably easy and migrating from the trial to the full product was very smooth.

There are two aspects that I'd like to highlight of the product's UX:

The Esper console is very intuitive and straight-forward. This is much appreciated and something we don't take for granted, as many of the alternatives that we tried were seriously playing on another level in this regard.

The Esper provisioning process is as stream-lined as it can be. This is critical, especially for large fleets of devices. Operative costs are greatly optimized when having as little set-up and maintenance as possible as Esper is able to deliver.

I'd strongly recommend Esper for use cases where you want to maintain a fleet of devices, either for internal or external use.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

Esper provides a SDK API, which is interesting and appreciated. I'd welcome some of this functionality to be developed into the standard, SDK-less functionality that is able to be delivered with just configuration in the Esper console.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We manage our fleet of loaner phones using Esper. It resolves the management and tech administrative aspects of this feel of phones, while letting us concentrate on delivering a solution for our customers

  ### 42. In the right hands a powerful device management tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Camryn M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Esper?**

The dashboards and group management makes it easy to get a quick overview of our devices.
Site wide reboots with one button.
Updates can be pushed with minimal down time on the customer. (We are in security so that is a big deal for us)
Remote view and control features make it easy to support customers using our devices.
The reporting graphs are very useful for determinng the cause of issues or even preventing issues in the first place.
The survey requests I mention ease of use, for a technician or anyone with a bit of IT knowledge its very easy to use.
The platform as a whole is very powerful.

**What do you dislike about Esper?**

I would like a reporting archive of some sort, I simply might not have seen it, but i would like the ability to pull a report on each device to see how it has performed and how the user handled the device over a period of about a month or more.
We have had some of our devices behave strangley , brightness and volume settings change for example without the user making the changes (the settings are locked out of the users reach)
Accessibilty settings are still accessable even when the device is locked out, I understand this is a feature built into the android API but I would like a means of preventing accidental activation of settings like the Narrator funtion for example.

**What problems is Esper solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Device monitoring.
Application update release management.
Strict User access control.
Easy of support to customer.
