**What do you like best about eSkill?**

I really enjoy eSkill's ease of use, especially when it comes to selecting assessments from the large database or creating our own using the eSkill Author function. The assessment database offers a wide array of topics and allows me to easily find what I need by just entering a keyword. I appreciate that eSkill Author lets us create assessments and questions for niche topics. The integration with our Applicant Tracking System, Bullhorn, provides a seamless experience for reviewing assessments and scores. The initial setup was very easy and intuitive, and the support from the Client Success Manager and eSkill Technical Support has been fast and reliable. There's also a helpful library of guides and 'how to's' in the eSkill Help Center. Lastly, I'm impressed with how user-friendly and accessible everything is.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

Editing and managing templates could be more user-friendly, as it's sometimes difficult to tell which template is for what action. Perhaps a description of what each template is for would be helpful.

**Recommendations to others considering eSkill:**

I would definitely recommend eSkill as an assessment platform for any organization, big or small.  Whether it's a basic Microsoft Office test you are looking for or a more complex subject matter, eSkill has it covered.  Tests can be created from scratch or selected from their large catalog.  Support has been top-notch and all eSkill customers are assigned an Account Manager who makes the transition to this tool seamless and hassle-free.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eSkill simplifies hiring decisions in our Healthcare IT Go Live practice, making the recruiter's job easier and improving candidate selection.

**What do you like best about eSkill?**

I received the best end-user feedback regarding the AI assistant to look up questions, as it has streamlined so much our test-making process to evaluate candidates for the different areas to service our clients.

— Well-calibrated questions: Especially the technical questions; the questions always hit the mark for their stated difficulty level and are well constructed.

—Easy to navigate: We breeze through sending tests to candidates, we know where to look up reports, etc.

—Great account manager: They are so responsive and lovely. I don't think any query of mine spend more that two days in the void before an answer.

—It Just Works. Reliable basically all of the time in my experience (unless maintenance is scheduled).

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

It's hard to keep track of usage. It would be great if there was a usage dashboard somewhere. Technically, we can judge by initiated + completed tests, but a one-step solution would be great in order to be a good partner for the platform

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Filtering candidates has greatly improved. We feel we are getting higher quality candidates. In mass recruitment, that is such an added value to our business processes.

**What do you like best about eSkill?**

The customer service we have experienced has been exceptional. The people we met with when reviewing the product really listened to what our needs were and what we were looking for in an assessment. We had some specific needs and they figured out a way to customize the assessments to meet our needs.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

When we started, it took a while to find the right questions to meet our needs. It would have been nice to have the IA abilities that they have now. Regardless, we are very pleased with the assessments we were able to develope.

eSkill is helping us determine if candidates meet the requirements for our position. For example, making sure the candidate is able to answer reading comprehension questions, navigate a keyboard and have the traits that match our company culture.

eSkill stands out for its credibility as a pre-employment assessment platform. The structured, role-relevant assessments give our hiring process a defensible, professional foundation that instills confidence with both our team and our candidates. The content library is impressive in its breadth and flexibility; being able to select, customize, and combine test modules across a wide range of roles and skill sets means we're not forcing candidates into a one-size-fits-all experience. But honestly, what has made the biggest difference is the support we've received from Stefan and Chance. They've been genuinely invested in our success: responsive, proactive, and willing to dig into the specifics of our use case rather than offering generic guidance. That level of partnership is rare with a vendor and has made our rollout significantly smoother.

The platform's interface can feel a bit dated compared to more modern HR tech tools.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before eSkill, our pre-employment assessment process lacked consistency — there was no standardized way to objectively evaluate candidates' skills before moving them further in the hiring process, which put a heavier burden on recruiters and hiring managers to make judgment calls without structured data. eSkill has allowed us to introduce a repeatable, skills-based screening step that creates a more equitable and defensible hiring process across our organization. For our HUB Customer Central pilot specifically, we've been able to tailor assessments to the actual competencies needed for customer service and sales roles, which means we're advancing candidates who are genuinely better matched to the position. The result is more confidence in our shortlists, less time spent on candidates who aren't the right fit, and a stronger overall candidate quality entering the interview stage. It's also given our TA team a credible, easy-to-explain tool to bring to hiring manager conversations around candidate readiness.

**What do you like best about eSkill?**

One of the main things I like about eSkill is that as a customer, they listen to us. They've been very helpful in setting up additional assessments to administer. I just appreciate the fact that they're responsive. By having eSkill responsive to our requests, it has made our jobs easier because we have several vendors that require a lot of back-and-forth just to get an answer, but eSkill is one of those vendors that is very responsive. Also, the initial setup of eSkill was very easy.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

Just personally for our business, we need the ability to test someone's literacy level in American English, and score it to meet the requirements of the client.  eSkills is working on it, but it's not there yet.  Nothing against the company - they are working on it. It's not an easy thing to do.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eSkills helps screen out new hires who are not computer literate.  Before eSkills, we'd lose training time showing someone how to open a 2nd screen, or use a mouse. Now we can screen those applicants out before learning too late they can't perform basic computer activities.

It’s very easy to search for questions, create a test, and launch a new test so it’s ready for use. I also really like the automatic grading, which saves us a lot of time.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

Some of the report features are limited. Some information we need takes too long to find or export.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a high-volume HR department, and we handle hundreds—if not thousands—of applicants and new hires. Many of our positions require pre-employment testing. eSkill has saved me hundreds of hours that we used to spend proctoring and grading tests, and it has truly been a game-changer for our district.

I really value eSkill for simplifying the administration of assessments. I like how it helps my team administer, create, and evaluate assessments objectively and mostly free of bias. The blind coding assessments are particularly useful, as they enable managers to evaluate these assessments without bias since they can't identify the candidates. I appreciate how you can do almost everything within the platform, making it very convenient.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

I don't like that I have to create the multiple-choice questions outside of eSkill. Also, multiple-choice and team scoring can't be combined immediately to give an overall score.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eSkill helps my team easily administer, create, and evaluate assessments objectively, reducing bias. The blind coding assessments ensure evaluations are fair by keeping candidates anonymous.

they have added new features that enabloe the user to build out more in depth questions.  using AI has helped alot 

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

jsut the pricing model - we use this but we consume it as we get busier with REQ's

**Recommendations to others considering eSkill:**

Definitely utilize multiple tests per skill level.  We have a senior engineering exam vs a technician exam.  The other aspect is, try not to give too many instructions to the person taking the skill exam - its a test in itself:  just that you will be sending over an exam via email.  eskills is very straight forward and easy to use - if they is any difficulty from the tester side, they are eliminated immediately.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Putting together a skills library and pulling from that library to create tests to pre screen candidates is a great thing to have.  I know that prior to the eskills adaption into our vetting process we were wasting time bringing in candidates who looked good on paper but clearly were not a fit for us.  I didn't realize that the video component was accessible to us, it seems like it would be beneficial.

I like how easy it is to modify the assessments on eSkill. We are able to create individual links to show patterns for each of the areas we test. The head of our TA team has been identifying stronger questions from the eSkill library to make the assessments more challenging, which is great for predicting future success. Also, the initial setup was easy.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

eSkill does not support 2 live environments. It will be challenging to test the integration since we can only be live with 1 ATS vendor at a time.

eSkill helps us predict a candidate's ability to use Excel and retail math in their roles, streamlining our assessment process.

I find the support for eSkill really valuable, as it helps me manage the software effectively. I appreciate the test banks for their comprehensive nature and the overall ease of use with the platform.

The test builder can be cumbersome when uploading custom test questions to the platform. A bulk question option would be delightful, where one could load up a pre-made test/quiz, and the AI could filter the questions into individual ones.

I use eSkill to verify candidate credentials before interviews, solving availability issues by allowing tests to be sent and graded without our presence.

The ease of use. It is a product that my team had 1 short training on and they were able to start successfully using with next to no issues. Any issue that we've run into has been easily resolved.

My team screens a large number of candidates and the reporting can be slow or clunky when I'm trying to pull a years worth of data at a time.

We like the instant test scores. I am able to add our own agency test questions.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

Turnaround time for questions created by eSkill that have typo/grammar errors that must be corrected is slow. 

The canned questions don't apply to a lot of our government depts., such as Fire, EMS, Wastewater, Transit and 911 Dispatchers, so we're forced to create our own questions.  

Creating and adding our own questions is very time consuming. There are too many steps.

The quick turnaround of the scores is great.

It’s very easy to navigate the platform and create your own exams.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

The simulation questions are quite buggy, and users often report that they don’t align well with the actual use of certain software platforms, or even with the simulation questions themselves. Customer service availability could be improved.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Video integration has been incredibly useful for our organization, and the proctoring capabilities have been helpful as well. Overall, both features have made a positive difference in how we run things.

I like how customizable the system is, and I also appreciate that it offers a large catalog of questions to choose from.

I haven’t really run into any issues. Since we’re in Canada, it would be great to have a feature that can translate questions into French.

eSkill has been helpful for our clerical onboarding, since we use it to administer clerical tests with updated Microsoft Office modules.

eSkill allows us to create and customize assessments to find the most useful questions for each department in our company. Managers have been happy with the customization and other features included in eSkill. We are working to create custom assessments for each department in the company over the next few months to roll the tool out company-wide. Our Account manager has been a great help in finding questions to ask in the custom assessments we are creating and we couldn't be more thankful! We are hoping to use eSkill for many years to come

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

eSkill can sometimes be difficult to navigate. We do need to do a bit of searching to find different topics we would like to include in assessments when building our own.  To solve this issue, we were able to connect with our account manager for about an hour of our time to go through the assessment builder tool, questions and categories available as well as other ideas. We created a customized data entry assessment using several different question categories that will be very helpful to us while continuing to grow our business.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to assess the skills, abilities, and aptitudes of applicants quickly and easily while also ensuring the assessments are relevant to our different business functions. Previously, we were not able to customize or tailor our questions to specific departments and eSkill allows us to do that and so much more. We are working to create custom assessments for each department in the company over the next few months to roll the tool out company-wide.

Test scores integrate with our applicant tracking software so that we can easily send out information to the candidates all at once and scores are populated into their application.

We could use a little more personalized question library for school district classifications.  Many questions are off topic and really can't be used by us.
Also, it would be really helpful if the system didn't time out so fast, especially when we are reviewing the question library and making or editing a test.  Often the system times out and I have to start over as I am logged out and it doesn't save my work.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Beneficial to have candidates be able to test 24 hours a day on their own time and we don't have to have parking available on site.

1) I really don’t like that we can only go back one year to see results – this is a big negative for those of us who don’t use it often enough; 
2) the process of creating an assessment and writing down all those numbers can be a bit cumbersome; 
3) when we created assessments for IT and Mechanic positions, it was horribly out of date, according to those that took the test (they said, “Wow – I really had to think back to my old school skills”)….so eSkill needs to be mindful of updating tests when technology changes.

Preemployment assessments that are easy to use and easy to create. Onboarding process was great customer support and easy to implement and integrate into our company.

Smaller packages for smaller companies. We get 200 assessments a year but don't interview that many people on a yearly basis. A package for 100 assessments would be ideal.

The integration with Neogov is the most helpful. We also like that we can create our own questions. The support is responsive, so we do feel that we can reach out and get answers or help when we need it.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

One  issue that impacts our operations, is that we have to keep all the tests active all the time for the integration to work. We like to deactivate the tests so that candidates can't access the test after the deadline, but providing a deactivation date will cause integration problems. There was also another time our test didn't integrate at all and we had to manually input the test scores, which is one of the main reasons we have eSkill in the first place - to integrate! We also are pretty unhappy with the selection of test questions. Most of them are targeted for positions that are completely unrelated to the positions we are recruiting for. There aren't many "basic concept questions". Most of the time we need to create our own questions for our tests, because the library eSkill provides has little value. We also have been told that the typing questions are somewhat inaccurate. Our candidates will do the typing question and then get a totally different wpm from an online test resource.

We are required to screen our candidates for best fit. ESkill helps achieve this by providing a platform that we can create our own tests that target specific skills and abilities to the position. Depending how well the candidates score, we can determine the best qualified candidates.

The user interface of eSkill is very easy to use and makes creating and sending tests to applicants seamless. The ability to upload or select from current content has helped my organization quickly create numerous tests.

The eSkill creator, where we can create and upload our own content, is sometimes a little buggy. This has caused us to lose some work when the site either stops working or doesn't save properly. This is not a huge issue as it hasn't happened often, but when it does, it's a bit inconvenient.

For a very long time, all of our pre-employment tests were administered in person and graded by hand. This took up a lot of time and resources. Using TalentEd has allowed us to administer more tests and save us a significant amount of time by auto grading every test.

It provides well-structured and comprehensive assessment tests that remove the need for me to devise complex technical questions or interviews, thus simplifying the hiring process considerably.

**What do you like best about eSkill?**

The biggest benefit of eSkill to us is their Author tool and the ability to create our own assessments based on questions directly related to our industry. They also offer integrations with other online tools and ATS' which saves a tremendous amount of time.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

The only thing negative, and that's a big stretch to even use that word, would be eSkill's UI. I believe it could benefit from an upgrade and be more visually appealing to users. It seems outdated.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eSkill has been a tremendous time saver, ensuring that our recruiters can spend time developing relationships and finding the best candidates, as opposed to manually reviewing tests and scoring for proficiency.

I like the option to customize pre-made tests to make them shorter or focus more on a particular skill level. Customer service is great, the team is helpful and responds quickly.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

Some test takers have complained that load/response times are slow. Other than that we have no issues with the program.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eSkill tests ensure that our candidates are proficient in the skillsets the claim to have on their resumes and those that are required to fill a particular position.

The situational questions/topic/job area. They will question your knowledge and put you to the test. Either way, you will learn about your strengths and weaknesses.

**What do you dislike about eSkill?**

The technical term/s are not that clear. Some questions appear complex, and most indicators are easy. Though there are three attempts for it, the time is not enough.

**What problems is eSkill solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The metric system measures skill/knowledge about a specific area/job. Though some questions are situational, they will test the examiner on real life situations and how they can handle them properly.
