What I really like about ESET PROTECT is how it helps me manage device storage while still keeping everything secure. It can fully encrypt disks, manage partitions, and even lock them to prevent unauthorized access. On top of that, it automatically scans files—whether they’re shared, stored, or downloaded—and it also checks applications for hidden threats before they run. We all know that sharing and downloading files comes with risks. Malware, hidden threats, or accidentally exposing sensitive content can happen easily. ESET PROTECT makes this feel much safer by offering strong threat protection and data loss prevention across email, devices, the web, and endpoints. Overall, ESET PROTECT comes across as a complete security companion. It feels reliable and proactive, and it gives me peace of mind knowing my data and devices are well protected. It meets your requirements by offering access to all the essential features while still allowing you to select only the options that best fit your needs. What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you? It has helped us resolve several challenges. To start with, it has reduced the cost of buying multiple tools because it combines a wide range of functions into a single platform. For example, it can run full device scans, detect threats, and automatically quarantine malicious files or viruses. From there, I can decide whether to delete the identified threats or keep them if needed. Second, it genuinely works as an all-in-one solution with multiple features. It supports safer browsing by filtering websites, flagging potentially harmful or data-mining sites, and blocking them when necessary. It also includes anti-phishing capabilities and ad-safety features, along with an anti-theft option for device location tracking. In addition, it offers parental controls that help protect children’s devices from inappropriate content. Its functionality extends further by acting as a firewall, which lets me manage network activity more effectively. It also includes a VPN, enabling anonymous browsing and helping protect my data and IP address from unauthorized access. Overall, it feels like a highly effective tool for data protection and cybersecurity. I like that ESET PROTECT is on-site, giving me full control over the server, which is something I find really critical. Management with it is fairly easy, and it simply works. The fact that it's on-premises is an important part for me because cloud deployment can pose additional risks. I appreciate having full control over OS management and other aspects. We subscribed and then needed to cancel because of this, so there is definitely room for improvement. Additionally, the initial setup was really challenging. Onboarding takes significant time and the learning curve is fairly steep. Once all the policies are set, all initial installation and licensing issues are resolved everything works as expected. I really liked that it came with the OS and therefore I didn’t have to spend one whole week deploying it. The kusto query language scripting is great for finding weird stuff once you get good at scripting. This tool also communicates with Office 365 and when someone clicks on an email link that has a virus in outlook, this tool will notify us and won’t crash. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. I hate this product the most because the licensing model is so complex and I would probably need a phd to be able to determine what I’m paying for or what tier provides what feature set. This tool solves the problem of remote workers accidentally destroying our servers while working remotely from their living room and also the automated removal of standard malware from the network prevents me from having to manually clean each infected machine. The dashboard for ESET protect on-prem is quite intuitive and the Linux OVA compatibility made it easy to deploy without needing additional licensing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT? At times, the program can be difficult to add exceptions to and to tailor to your exact use case. You may find that it blocks things you didn't intend to and that it's a bit finnicky to push updates. There's a bit of a learning curve with deploying tasks using triggers, but once you have done it a few times it can be a powerful tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you? The program provides competent and relatively flexible antivirus solutions at competitive pricing with integrations for email and others.
