For me, central management is probably the biggest advantage. This is where you can look at each client to determine whether they’re up-to-date, update them yourself, allow/deny USB drives, etc. All of these items are managed through a single tool. I’ll try to keep this brief since i’ve worked a 12 hour day, but the notifications via email are actually really helpful. Whether the threat was detected automatically by the system or had to be handled by a user, it’s still sending notifications. It goes without saying that deep scans can slow your computer down to nothing. That’s just how it works. Low spec computers or older ones will essentially shut off certain applications during the scan. The management portal has a steep learning curve and the curve never really levels out. After months of use and countless hours spent trying to learn new features, i’m starting to feel exhausted with the amount of learning required. More often than i would like false positives occur and tracking down quarantined files that end up being harmless is just busy work. Lastly, the price tag for licenses is noticeably higher than other products and the process of renewing your license is another headache. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you? I wanted to be able to protect my organization’s endpoint protection in one location. We need to be able to protect both our Windows and Mac machines and we need to be able to protect those that connect from their homes on networks we have no influence over. Eset protect allows us to do all of that in one package (malware, ransomware, intrusion prevention, controlling USB drives, web threats). With one product we don’t have multiple tools we need to stitch together. The ability to track versions alone helps it save time because they aren’t having to manually chase down which users are currently using outdated definition versions. I use ESET to manage the systems students rely on every day on it has been very consistently solid features like web control application blocking and endpoint monitoring have been especially useful for restrictions and unwanted access it also runs smoothly alongside learning software and browsers without any lags the console is very easy to navigate gives clear quick view of system status without any need to dig through multiple sections. Setting up for different user groups can be the time consuming particularly in the early stages after everything is configured running well but getting ESET set up its initially isn't the quickest process even so the performance stays stable when I am handing larger batches. it only integrates smoothly with our internal tools and databases systems. ESET prevents students from installing risky software or accessing unsafe websites which are used to be a major issues for us. Since using ESET systems the things are having stay clean and we spend far less time for troubleshooting problems or resetting machines it also helped us for cut down on downtime so the users can keep working without any interruptions. We use ESET to apply security policies across our users machines. Once everything is set up, it runs snoothly and doesn’t require much ongoing follow ups. The policy management and devices control features have been especially useful for restricting ceratin apps and controlling access to external drives. We connected it to our Windows domain and it synced users and sytems without any issues. The live status view is helful and fastest checking which machines are out of date. ESET Policy settings weren’t very clear to me at first and it took some time to figure out what each option actually does. ESET PROTECT is a lightweight and reliable platform, I run multiple tools such as VS code, local servers and containers and it doesn’t slow anything down. I like the malware detection, behavior monitoring and web filtering. The user alerts are both side useful and helpful and they arrive on time. In our company, people used to install whatever they wanted random tools, browser extensions, even cracked software. With ESET PROTECT, we’ve been able to lock that down through application control and web filtering and its been a real shift for us. I also like that we connected it to our helpdesk tool, so alerts go straight into tickets instead of getting lost in email, dashboard is something I check every day; its easy to scan in under a minute, but it still gives me the information I need. ESET PROTECT - I work in an MSP setting and manage multiple client environments at once. I appreciate most is the ability to deploy protection remotely and monitor alerts across different conpaines from a platform. The anti phishing layer and behavior based detection have helped catch a few suspicious files early. The AI threat detection is also working well and I’ve seen eset catch malware that our old av solution wouldn’t even touch and the ransomware rollback feature alone is worth it. Knowing you can roll back a ransomware attack and undo the damage is not something to sneeze at. Also, deploying eset has been relatively painless. There are simply so many features/options/variables that its not always clear where to begin. A minor pet peeve, but getting pricing quotes seems to require going through a partner and that requires calling and speaking with someone. It’s not ideal. Some alerts do not clearly tell you what action(s) you should take next to resolve the issue, thus requiring further research by googling it or scouring the web forums for help from others who are similarly confused. Before we had eset protect we were constantly fighting malware infections, risk of ransomware, phishing etc. With eset protect, the entire process is automated so the security team spends less time investigating each incident and more time focusing on overall it strategy. We knew that asking every individual user to maintain their own av software signatures/policies was never going to happen. For a small team without a full-fledged SOC, eset protect provides peace of mind knowing you will not be completely vulnerable to attacks simply because your team members are not monitoring systems 24x7. In our retail environment with multiple POS systems, I rely on ESET PROTECT to keep endpoints clean without slowing anything down. The real time scanning and ransomware protection run fastest, which matters for smooth routine day operations and also the remote management console because it saves me from having to travel between stores and more we’ve integrated it with Active Directory and our emails security tools, so its straightforward to apply and manage user based policies. What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you? Before ESET we had of random antivirus tools spread across different systems. Now everything is standardized under once setup. What I personally like is that I don’t need to be technical to use it effectively. I can log in, fastest see whats hoing on and take action when needed add additional reporta are also useful when I have to explain things internally, when it comes to threats or blocked activity, is that it doesn’t slow down our systems, which was a concern before we started using it and integration with our existing setup was smooth too, and it didn’t require any major changes. We’ve integrated it with our email security layer as well as our internal monitoring tools, which helps keep everything aligned. The platform runs on managed infrastructure and includes additional capabilities, such as an isolated environment that lets us correlate alerts more effectively.
