I really like how Empyrean is very friendly and client focused. They are super responsive and knowledgeable, always taking the time to learn about their clients and our policies. First off, the people at Empyrean are great to work with, which matters a lot when trying to fix issues or get something custom/nuanced implemented. Empyrean is always trying to improve the member experience and finding ways to improve their prodcut/technology. The employer portal is very easy to use and provides a lot of useful information on active employees, terminated employees and retirees. They can work with you on customizing reports for you as well, which I appreciate because it helps alleviate some work on my end. The call center can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes you'll get someone great that knows a lot about your company's benefits, but sometimes you'll get someone that needs more guidance from their manager or doesn't provide a clear answer to the member. This can cause a negative experience for members, and then the Benefits team hears about it. Empyrean has been a great partnership for us for several years now. We really value the relationship as it helps us streamline our benefits administration. They currently outsource COBRA and direct bill administration. This can sometimes cause challenges with processing data and requires extra coordination between the two different vendors.
