I'm not tech-savvy, but as a Training Specialist, it's quite easy for me to create engaging materials for training and onboarding. The most important part is that I can upload Elucidat content directly to the Docebo learning platform, which is used for training. Compared to usual slides, content created through Elucidat is smooth to use and looks interactive. I mostly use Elucidat Create, and it even allows me to create content with AI and import .ppt files. Creating content from templates is user-friendly, but when starting from scratch, it takes time to learn the tool. In my version, there are only a couple of templates available, and the same for Elucidat Create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about Elucidat is that it enables anyone to create impactful elearning content, regardless of their skill level or expertise. It has a user-friendly interface, pre-built templates, and guided workflows that make the authoring process easy and efficient. It also has advanced features that allow experienced authors to customize and personalize their elearning experiences, using data, logic, and interactivity.
Elucidat also helps L&D teams to produce elearning content at scale, without compromising on quality or brand consistency. It has powerful collaboration tools that enable authors to work together, share feedback, and approve content. It also has a centralized asset management system that allows L&D managers to control and update their brand assets, images, and videos across multiple projects and variations. Elucidat supports localization and translation workflows, making it easy to deliver elearning content to learners across the globe.
Elucidat is more than just a software, it is also a learning platform that provides support and resources to its users. It has a dedicated customer success team that helps users with onboarding, training, and troubleshooting. It also has a learning hub that offers elearning examples, best practices, and tips from industry experts. Elucidat also conducts regular surveys and reports on the state of digital learning, giving users insights into the latest trends and challenges in the elearning industry. The pricing is very high compared to other elearning authoring tools.
The video creation functionality is limited. Elucidat does not allow users to record video directly within their courses or to record their screen for software demonstrations. Users have to use external tools to create and edit videos and then import them into Elucidat, which can be time-consuming and inconvenient Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been working with Elucidat for several years now, and it has proven to be a fantastic and flexible product. One of the standout features is its accessibility, making it easy for users to navigate and create engaging courses. The abundance of resources provided by Elucidat is a significant advantage. The platform offers excellent opportunities for upskilling through comprehensive guides, industry trend blogs, and informative webinars. The customer service, particularly through the Chat feature, is exceptional - quick responses and helpful assistance have made my experience with Elucidat even more positive. While I personally appreciate the extensive customization options Elucidat provides, it posed a challenge when introducing the platform to a large group of individuals (40+) with little or no course authoring experience. The learning curve for beginners proved to be steep due to the plethora of options and editing possibilities available. While this may be a minor drawback for experienced users like myself, it's worth considering the potential challenges for those new to course authoring. It's worth noting that Elucidat is actively addressing this concern by working on a simpler alternative interface. Despite this drawback, Elucidat remains a powerful tool once users become familiar with its capabilities. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ability to publish and update content with ease.
Translations for multiple versions .
Good responsive design once.
Ease of use for non learning designers.
Ability to duplicate projects and amend.
User management

Seems to lack key features that seem nothing more than an oversight. (ie: formatting restrctions, ability to set up rules that trigger when a page HAS been completed but not when a page HAS NOT been completed, ability to paste asset URLs instead of going through asset manager each time etc.)
Counting each click as a uniquie user which leaves the 'publish as a link' feature next to useless
Cost of the tool and add ons for features which would be free in other tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its user-friendly interface, variety of features and superb customer support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't been following the feature updates closely, but I remember that the translation process required manual work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I love about Elucidat is how many design elements there are to utilize. So many ways to customize the course, make it look and feel branded, and make each course unique and beautiful. If design isn't your thing- they also have a ton of templates to use.
Another reason I love using Elucidat is how easy it is to ask questions, either through the chat feature or emailing a question, Elucidat responds quickly to questions. The company I work for is a large retailer, and we have even offered suggestions to Elucidat on how to improve features- they welcome that feedback and actually respond to emails!! I can't think of anything I don't like. If there are frustrations or issues, they are small, and I am able to reach out to support for help. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its robust set of features simplifies complex tasks, allowing collaborators to focus more on content quality rather than grappling with the technicalities of the tool itself. There are a lot of interactive elements which facilitate dynamic course designs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
However, while Elucidat excels in many areas, it falls short in terms of space management customization. The tool offers limited options for personalized space management, which might pose a challenge for those seeking a more tailored approach to organizing content within the platform. I have been using Elucidat for the past four years, and it has become one of my favorite authoring tools.
Creating content in Elucidat is a straightforward process, and the quality of the output is excellent. It provides layout-based design templates that make it easy for developers to select the desired layouts and update content as needed.
One of its standout features is its rapid development capabilities, and perhaps the best part is its support for collaborative work, thanks to its cloud-based nature.
Some few points I can highlight:
Easily accessible anywhere as it is a Cloud-based Online tool,
Creates Mobile Friendly Courses just in time,
Integrated Asset Library,
Translations can be completed rapidly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I did come across one drawback, which it misses an option to copy page parts from one page to another.
There is a loading issue when multiple text boxes are placed closely together. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Elucidat is a powerful tool that has tons of pre-built templates and interactions. I like to say it is the happy medium between Rise and Storyline. It's not as vast and difficult to use as Storyline, but it is more powerful and harder to use than Rise.
I love how customizable Elucidat is, but you don't have to start from scratch with every course you build either. My favorite thing about Elucidat is the text entry questions. It allows learners to reflect on what they are learning vs. just having stale multiple choice questions. Setting up text entry in Storyline is always a headache, but it's a breeze in Elucidat. Social polling is a fantastic feature as well - there is a lot of power in showing learners what their peers think.
Overall, Elucidat is a fantastic authoring tool. They need to work out a few kinks with the tool but eventually I could see this tool being very comparable to Rise/Storyline in terms of quality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Elucidat has a LARGE learning curve when you are used to using authoring tools such as Rise and Storyline. The layout vs. author tab takes a while to get the hang of because different settings are available in each tab, so you spend a lot of time at first switching between the tabs to figure out where you need to go for each setting you want.
There is virtually no community for Elucidat, so you can't really Google anything in relation to how to use Elucidat and get an answer. Some of their help articles are also out of date, or don't cover the exact questions my team has had about using the tool.
The review platform for Elucidat courses is wacky. We always have issues when we send a course to a SME or stakeholder to review and they have to try multiple times before they can get in (this could have something to do with our VPN). Regardless, any review tool should not require reviewers to create an account and we should be able to send the same course link to all reviwers vs. having to put in everyone's emails so Elucidat can send an email with a link to create an account, then it allows them to review the course. Elucidat is very user friendly and easy to use for a non-experienced designer. The customer service is great to work with. I appreciate they consider user feedback to improve the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The primary limitation of Elucidat is the limted graphics available to integrate into the product instead of pulling from our own graphics library. I appreciate the transparency of the features that are in development that will address the program's limitation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
