I loved authoring on the Elucidat platform. It helps me to understand how to compose for different types of channels, i.e.(mobile apps and websites). After creating the courses, I have to check for the user experience on the learner view; it is also one of the best features that one can check is it acceptable. It is one of the best features of Elucidat. **What do you dislike about Elucidat?** Sometimes the bugs through which we can not proceed further make me disappointed. The visuals make trouble for which I feel hard to create courses and thus for the users to visualize and access modules having problematic visuals. It will be an awful user experience if such bugs occur and a user wants to access it through different channels, i.e. (mobile apps and websites). **Recommendations to others considering Elucidat:** It is way better than other authoring tools because of the simplicity and the standard guidelines, making it easier than the additional ones. **What problems is Elucidat solving and how is that benefiting you?** I have created courses that work on all platforms (mobile, tablets, web-based), and on every screen, it behaves consistently. Making them consistent is the main problem in creating the courses. I had to implement according to my best judgment and test it again and again until I got my results. If I still didn't get my desired results, I asked them to check for possible solutions like changing a UI, image, and videos. Its three mode hierarchy i.e., Layout, Authoring and Preview, makes it very organized. You can easily add any component such as text box, graphics, videos, tabs, accordions etc., from layout mode, customize the added components from authoring mode i.e you can set the images, colors, border, padding, typography, formatting etc., and then finally you can check the final look from the preview mode before releasing it for public. Moreover, its supporting team is highly active, they answer the queries in detail and as soon as possible. **What do you dislike about Elucidat?** These days Elucidat has across many platform issues due to some updates. One of the issue which I found and shared with my team is causing because of the new text box. Updating page title in header of one page start reflecting in the other pages of same project. Moreover, its formatting gets reverted to default. So the support team has provided the workaround for this which is a bit time consuming if the project has 50+ pages. **What problems is Elucidat solving and how is that benefiting you?** I've been developing some E-learning websites for a renowned organization. I like the ease of creating projects, click+drag to move page sections, and importing pages from other projects in order to save time. I've been working with Elucidat for around six years, so am very comfortable using the software, and the customer support team are extremely quick to respond to issues which is reassuring. Elucidat is frequently evolving, and the new features being introduced are more often than not very welcome improvements, not only to back-end usability, but also to the user experience. **What do you dislike about Elucidat?** There are some limitations in Elucidat, the foremost of which - for me - is the inability to click-zoom on images; for a modern online product this feels extremely restrictive. It is also not possible to save aspects of the main navigation across projects, which is tiresome as I have to add them every time. As a long-time user, Elucidat has often not been entirely transparent in terms of their site upgrades; common features that we use often can be removed without warning, such as the ability to insert tables. There is also no guarantee of permanent support for projects; we have already gone through one phase of converting older projects into the newest version of Elucidat, and it looks like this is likely to happen again (affecting several hundred projects across multiple languages. **Recommendations to others considering Elucidat:** If your company wants to create user-facing content simply and easily, either from a variety of easy to use templates or making a project from scratch, Elucidat is likely the most straightforward authoring software for the task. While it is not cheap, and some upgrades are only included at cost, it remains innovative and is constantly improving. **What problems is Elucidat solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are providing medical clinicians with ongoing support for their continued medical education, and providing refreshers for basic practical skills, surgical techniques, and situations that may arise in GP practice or in hospitals, among others. Elucidat allows us to serve this information easily, and track users' improvement. Asset management in Author window/screen could be improved. Currently, I always have the Asset Library open in a separate tab. It is easier to upload and assign files to folders that way. There is an issue when a video file is uploaded into the audio player by mistake. When you look at the proporties, the file is apparently not linked to the audio player and cannot replaced. The only way to resolve the issue is to remove the audio player completely and place a new one. **What problems is Elucidat solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have tried other authoring tools in the past, and Elucidat is easier to use when we have simple e-learning needs. Elucidat is very intuitive and easy to self-learn. There is a wealth of different page styles so that you can build engaging e-learning solutions very quickly. **What do you dislike about Elucidat?** Some of the edit icons for the different page elements can be quite close together and easy to click on the wrong one. Text editing would be better if it acted a little more like MS Word. **Recommendations to others considering Elucidat:** We are only at the trial/evaluation stage so it is too early to answer this question. We will definitely continue to use Elucidat as we can share a licence with our sister company Hitachi Rail who have unlimited author access. **What problems is Elucidat solving and how is that benefiting you?** Too early to say but I've been using Elucidat to put together a showcase of what we might be able to achieve. I'm sure i t will be a great benefit in the future.
