ELSA is a pre-requisite for any students taking English lessons with me. What I love the most about it is the possibility of immediate feedback when trying to get the pronunciation of a word right. While trying to learn a foreign language, there is an abyss between what we think we said and what sound actually came out of our mouths. With ELSA, students can get an idea of how off or not they are. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike that ELSA doesn't take native English accents into account. I've had native-speaker friends use it and still get marked on vowels or endings because the app doesn't recognize those variations in pronunciation as acceptable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Record me what I speak and do the analyze. It's useful and no other app has the same function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I believe over all is good. But comapre to ELSA other apps, it's more expensive. Hence, if I use ELSA othter app, I might not cosider ELSA speak at the same time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Elsa really helps you to improve your pronunciation skills. You can feel how your diction improves as you practice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Finishing the lessons that are there and having to repeat content can become boring. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ELSA Speak has helped many of my clients communicate in English proficiently. It improves their pronunciation, reduces their accent and makes them easy to understand. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing... other than as far as I can tell, there isn't a version that will help me improve my Japanese Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Story are short and pricing is high and no way to buy using local payment method and it's unlikely that every students have international debit or credit card. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing is that it clearly corrects the words I mispronounce and does not let me move forward until I get it right. The free version y very complete and has many things to personalize your experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing! I think that this app is the best to practice and get better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is the best English learning app I've had experience with at the moment. It's perfect for speaking practice and that is what I like most because this is the weakest part of my English - excellent written English and stuck when it comes to speaking. I just repeat dialogues and become quite more confident while speaking exprompt day after day I practice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hard to organize vocabulary, mark new words, and memorize them, all on a phone with a small screen and tapping-only features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been learning with Elsa for months now and I can see a significant improvement of my fluency and pronunciation accuracy. I'm really happy for that, thanks to Elsa. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
In master intonation practise, sometimes it sounds unnatural but getting a quite high score. It's also a pity that ELSA doesn't support standard British English pronunciation. I find it really hard to get a high score with my accent. I feel like being forced to use American English everytime I practise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The main upside is that you can learn the language at your pace, with immediate feedback and without any dependence on others. It's especially good for more introverted people who might not want to communicate with other humans and reveal their shortcomings. Plus it's very cost-effective compared to any paid learning program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I find that, overall, Elsa is almost perfect (as far as today's state of AI allows). What I would like to see is more granularity, maybe, in how I can choose topics. I know of an option to choose an interest, but the list is limited, and whatever I choose, the system keeps inserting dialogs about business, high tech, etc. These are topics that I'm very good at as they are the essence of my work. I want more mundane, day-to-day dialogs as this is where I feel I lag behind.
On the whole, this is the one single biggest downside of any learning program I've seen: lack of spontaneous, live, everyday conversations. For more advanced learners, this is the only challenging genre. Quick live exchanges, with natural stutters, mistakes, abandoned sentences, against some background noise. Colloquialisms, accents (for one, I'm not that good at understanding a really thick Texan accent). Currently, it can only be found in movies, but topics there are rarely useful for improving your everyday conversation skills.
Give me a Southern drawl with a slang expression here and there about going to get groceries or who is to do the dishes tonight, and I'm yours forever. If not that, at least more live dialogs (and the ability to set this preference).
Another minor grievance is that sometimes the system seems to be unable to recognize the input and keeps giving a low score though it seems the pronunciation is fine. It happens more often with short phrases or stand-alone words. E.g., recently, I was unable to score more than 80 for the word 'correct'. In a longer sentence, this word was accepted, and the score was as expected. But I understand that modern speech recognition tech is not perfect, so it's not a complaint, rather just an observation. I like the conversation part best because it helps me be more native when speaking. I also like learning by topic type of ELSA, it helps me sum up the vocab effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the performance when I access the Coach in the My learning tab, it loads quite a bit long. I'm using iPhone7 running on iOS15.4.1. I also don't like it when ELSA hasn't checked all my completed listening at Game Type in Explore tab. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
