I like the official-looking reports that the program generates when exporting experiments to PDF.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I haven't really used the Protocols or Inventory functions as I don't find it particularily intuitive. It would be good to have some videos to show how to best use these functions to accelerate experiment reporting.

Good for basic ELN needs and has pkenty of functions to get introduced and start ELN

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I love that I don't have to know everything about SciShield, since help is always avaialble. I use SciShield all the time since I work with EHS, but sometimes I get stuck and cannot solve a problem. Every time when I reach out to support, I get the issue resolved right away.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Some of issues that we hear from students and staff are about ChemTracker, especially when chemical is not in database or does not have CAS number.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Issues with job activites, edits to traninig modules, or sometimes things just do not make sense to me and I ask for explanation.

> Thank you for sharing your experience with eLabNext, Sisir. We recognize that the complexity of the user interface can be challenging for new users, which is why our Customer Success team is always available during and after the onboarding process.

  ### 18. Efficient and easy to use

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alex E. | Student at the University of Minnesota, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 11, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I like the organization of eLabNext, everything is clearly stated and there are a grand amount of features that can be used with the website!

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

It was frustrating that only one person at a time could work in a section, but it wasn't much of a hassle.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps solve efficiency and putting all lab writeups, materials, and learning the usage of chemicals and tools in the lab all together in a singular organized space.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Hi Alex, thank you so much for your review!
Indeed, it's only possible for one person to work in the same experiment report section at a time due to compliance tracking.

  ### 19. Frustrating experience

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Ability to link samples used to notebooks

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Copying and pasting tables into an entry are terrible. Benchling executed this much better. It's easier to upload an Excel sheet than to paste a table but that makes reviewing journal entries later much harder because I have to download each uploaded file.

While trying to copy an experiment template from a different Project Group and modify the details for my own Project Group, I was somehow able to modify the original Project Group that the template was filed in, which meant that I modified the Project Group for all the experiments as well. This ability should be locked down to the administrators of the Project Group, not accessible to any random user. And I should be able to modify an experiment template without hunting all around for the options. It's so hard to just copy a template and use it straightaway.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking changes and links across multiple experiments and projects

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad to hear that you’re enjoying the seamless interconnectivity between the Inventory and the Journal.

Regarding the table section, our team is currently working on improving the section for better formatting and adjustability. We encourage you to contact our Support Desk (support@elabnext.com) so they can add you to the list of requestors for this feature request and update you when the new editor has been implemented.

In terms of the Experiment Template, the configuration actions are governed by the permission set. To prevent modification by other users, you can navigate to the Permissions page and disable the relevant permission for all roles except for the group administrators. For the issue of copying a template, we recommend reaching out to our Support Desk with more details. They can assist you and are dedicated to providing you with the best support.

Thank you again for your review and for being part of the eLabNext community!

  ### 20. Good Experience with eLabJournal

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

My favorite thing about eLabJournal is how searchable it is. I save a lot of effort being able to easily search key words and phrases and find research from myself and my collegues.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The main thing I wish was different about eLabJournal is the spreadsheets, and especially Excel plug-in. It would be helpful to be able to connect my data from the notebook into statistical programs like JMP, as well as to utilize more of the full functionality of Excel on the platform.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLabJournal allows us to collaborate between our labs, reference historical lab reports, and manage lab inventory all in one spot. This saves us a lot of time.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for your feedback.

To more fully utilize Excel and JMP, we recommend installing eLabWebEdit, our free Marketplace Add-on. If the app uses a specific JMP file type, users can upload copies of their files to an experiment's File Section and open them locally in the full Excel/JMP desktop app through eLabWebEdit.

  ### 21. user-friendly ELN system

**Reviewed Date:** November 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The interface is intuitive and easy to use

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Searching function can be enhanced by adding more features, such as filtering, combining, not including etc..

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLabNext made sample storage, tracking and retrieval very easy.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Yueyue, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our platform.
Regarding the search functions, I'm happy to share that more filtering options, including those you've listed, will be available for Dedicated Installations in Q1 of 2025.

  ### 22. The software to keep your lab on track for success

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juan P M. | Research Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 23, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

With an easy and friendly interface, eLabJournal allows for the organization of your lab, including samples and protocols. Very versatile and adaptable.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

There is only 1 thing I would change about eLabJournal and this is the number of licenses. It would be great if they would do a per lab rate, as we do have a continuous inflow and outflow of users as they became lab members or they graduate and keeping track of the licenses is tedious.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLabJournal makes easy the traking of your samples as in where are stored, what volumes are left, etc. Say bye to not updated excel sheets that after a few months are obsolete.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> It's great to hear that our platform is helping you track and manage your lab samples effectively. We value your input regarding the licensing structure. Please contact your key account manager or our Customer Success team at support@elabnext.com to see if we can make this process more convenient for you.

  ### 23. Convenient for starting in a new lab, but a lot of work to implement on existing data

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jordi H. | Postdoctoral researcher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Customer support, ease of use, easy navigation

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Ease of implementation, adding older data

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The most important problem eLabJournal solved is the transfer of my data when I was leaving the lab, the inventory, once set up, works incredibly well and it is easy to find for other lab members where materials are and additionally the experimental data connected to them. Furthermore, the booking system also works very well for equipment.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for sharing your experience with our platform. Regarding our implementation process, please contact our Customer Success team at support@elabnext.com. We're happy to assist you in improving your experience with eLabNext.

Till now I do not have any problem or do not dislike any part of eLabNext.

The journal function needs improvement. Especially for note taking of experiments. There is no plate map feature and it's not as user friendly as their inventory function

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralization of all inventory with customizable fields for sample types and storage that is easy to visualize

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our inventory system useful and user-friendly. The project for building a wells-plate section for experiments is on the roadmap for this year. Our team is working on the development of this feature and hopes to share this with you soon.

Moving away from paper-based notes

  ### 27. it was excellent!

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Already separated sections helped me a lot.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

the platform sometimes is not user-friendly.

  ### 28. Very helpful tool to future-proof your research in an organised manner

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sebastian R. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Its incredibly versatile tools help design your experiments in very different ways, depending on your needs.
The Inventory system is clear, organised and easily navigated.
Being able to access other colleague's experiments and their protocols with their permission, or even after they've left, allows an incredibly useful and consistent continuation of our research.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The "Protocols" tool is very rudimentary, but it's easy to work around, as you can always copy your previous experiments and edit those rather than rely on the Protocols tool.
It could use a "Project Management" tool like SciNote has, to have a comprehensive overview of each project and its progress.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Even though it's highly customisable, all the members in our lab have a consistency in experimental design and results presentation that helps the whole group.
The ease to navigate per project, even when they're done and paper has been published, makes it so much easier than trying to find old lab books, finding the correct experiment and decipher a former member's handwriting long after they've moved on to another job.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Sebastian, thank you for taking the time to review eLabJournal. We are thrilled to know that you find our tools versatile and the inventory system clear and organized. We appreciate your feedback regarding the Protocols tool and also your suggestion for a Project Management tool. We would like to recommend trying our Tasks add-on, which can help improve project management.

  ### 29. Good way to work together and share experiments

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

All projects/experiments in one location.
Easy to work with the journal and integrate it in our daily work.
They think along in our needs and how we could make the most use of it, even came by to visit.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Not able to work together in the same file at the same time, which could sometimes useful.
Setting up inventory and/or protocols takes quite some time, more biology oriented, not for general science lab.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Having all experiments saved in one place in an environment we can use with the whole team.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with eLabNext. We understand the importance of collaboration, but it is not possible to work on the same file simultaneously because we need to be able to log every user action to adhere to GLP compliance.

  ### 30. SciShield is a capable company but small enough that they give a personal touch.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Personal Touch - I like the fact that I can contact VPs and even the President of the company when I have a significant or important request.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Sometime the company's ambitions cause them to look to add new functionality, at times to the detriment of product fixes to current functionality.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to implementing SciShield, there was no way to track researchers and assigned research spaces assigned to a Principal Investigators. Additionally, while we (EHS) had always (50'ish years) tracked and recorded required safety training for all students and staff, we had difficulty tracking at a glance the training that individuals were required to take based on their research activities.
SciShield gives us a quick and accurate view of the compliance aspects in the lab.

  ### 31. eLabJournal is intuitive and easy to use. Highly recommend.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 03, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The sample management interface is simple and streamlined. I have a LIMS background and I found the system to be intuitive and easy to maneuver. Additionally, creating projects and tracking day-to-day labwork is much easier than a traditional lab journal.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

It would be very useful to individually view tabs of a spreadsheet within a completed project without having to download the entire spreadsheet. Other than that, no complaints.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a new start-up and the organization within eLabJournal has been extremely helpful.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> We're glad to hear that you find eLabJournal intuitive and easy to use. Thank you for recommending our platform!

  ### 32. elabjournal review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

It is convenient and I can update my work at anytime and place with internet connection.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I find it difficult to format the writing exactly to my liking, expecially for templates. The inventory function does not give notifications for expiring items and we need to check it ourselves. The options for access to certain functions for certain kind of users are not very flexible. I cannot define exactly what functions I want to allow or disallow as I can only choose from the list.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Convenience.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the options for access to certain functions.

We are working on improving our text editor and notification functions.
We recommend reaching out to our Customer Success team so they assist with making your platform more suitable to your needs.

  ### 34. First time eLabJournal user

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kasey M. | Research Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

As a first time electronic lab notebook user, I have found eLabJournal to be straightforward and easy to use. There are many different features of the platform that I have yet to explore.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

My colleagues have expressed that other electronic lab notebooks they have used were easier to collaborate on and to implement to a large group of people.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLab Journal has allowed my company to have a single streamlined place to record our data, protocols , and inventory.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Hi Kasey, thank you for your review. We're glad to hear that you find our platform straightforward and easy to use. We hope you continue to explore and benefit from the various features available.

**Reviewed by:** Sean F. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I love that the product is ready to use right out of the box. It is difficult to set up these programs no matter what type of research industry you are in. Too have a product like SciShield, that is complete ready to go, really allows you to hit the ground running. I wold not have a chance to have my current program functioning well without it.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Nothing! I really have zero complaints or issues about this product. It has been an immense aid.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows me to training a wide ranging user base. This allows the data to reside in one place for all of my EHS needs at my institution. One of the biggest issues in these programs is a source of truth. To have that in SciShield allows for a broad-ranging ability to tackle all sorts of issues.

  ### 36. Outdated yet effective and easy to use with a learning curve

It is a quick way to see your documented work and your team's work.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Text is difficult to format. Input of images requires the images to be saved as a file. Subsectioning entries is also difficult; my team never figured out how to do it. There is a steep learning curve to use eLabJournal.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Able to see how team members use their time and what they accomplish/find. Literature review and group project contributions were especially easy to see using eLabJournal.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

an easy and systematic way to manage lab data

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

the user interface could be more flexible. For example, I want to have a labjournal where i can put figure wherevere I want and leave various comments and observation on it. It will also be nice to have places to record failed or not perfect experiments in a project which is also important to note.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To record experiments nicely and coordinate with others easily

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the user interface. We understand the importance of flexibility in organizing lab data and will explore ways to enhance the platform to better accommodate various needs.

That you can store all sorts of documents and information.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Hard to navigate in the beginning and I wish multiple people could edit at once

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Organization

  ### 39. Superb Customer Service

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karina C. | Associate Scientist II, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 03, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

eLabJournal has lots of capabilities to make lab documenting functions easier to preform. I love that their customer service is easily accessible and available for even small questions.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

There are some times where eLabJournal has had bugs which in the moment are a bit inconvinient to the work flow but they are always resolved once I bring it to the attention of eLab.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are able to use eLab to communicate all experiments performed with one sample. This has really helped our workflow and cross team communication, in keeping track of where are samples have been used and how much data is atached to that sample.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Karina, thank you for your positive feedback! We're glad to hear that you find our customer service easily accessible and helpful for your needs. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by bugs. We're pleased to hear that they have been resolved promptly once brought to our attention.

  ### 40. Efficient for Documentation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The platform is user friendly and makes documentation easy.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

You cannot make a change to an experiment once it has been signed off.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ease of documenting experiments and tracking inventory.

**Official Response from Marketing Department:**

> Thank you for your feedback.

Due to our GLP compliance, it is not possible to make changes to an experiment once it has been signed off.
You can set up Witness Signing to prevent the experiment from being closed immediately. Otherwise, you can clone the closed experiment, which will stay connected to the original experiment.

  ### 42. Comprehensive electronic lab notebook

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The eLabJournal has most of the functions a lab needs for scientific research. I like the protocol and the journal functions because of the easiness of importing a certain protocol and making adjustments for a specific experiment.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

As a biologist, I think one thing eLab lacking is the incorporation of plasmid map.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Systematic experiment journaling and sharing with lab mates. Keep everything on record.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> It's great to hear that our platform is helping you with systematic experiment journaling and sharing with your lab mates. Keeping everything on record is important for scientific research.
Regarding the incorporation of a plasmid map, we recommend installing our CloneAssist add-on: https://www.elabnext.com/add-ons/cloneassist-beta/

  ### 43. eLab - simple to use and effective

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 02, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Interface is easy to navigate. Customer support team is prompt. There are lots of plug-ins that can be implemented. I am on eLab almost everyday. The cost is better than other electronic lab journals.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

I sometimes get lost with Experiement, Project, and Study. I find that the project is often titled the same as the experiment.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLab provided a method to bring my lab to a respected level. My lab is already organized, eLab helped to create workspaces and inventory cataloging. The additional of QR codes is a great touch to quickly scan an item in and out.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with eLabJournal! We're pleased to hear that you find the interface easy to navigate and that our customer support team has been prompt in assisting you. ### 44. Built Biosafety Program from Scratch

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Wyndi K. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 12, 2023

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

SciShield is user friendly, intuitive and easy to navigate from section to section.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Would like the flexibilty to create folders specifically for Bio, Rad, Chem, Animal, Insect, , Permits, MTAs, Shipping, etc. Current documentation allows sorting by type or key word. For large labs, seeing page after page of documents is a little overwhelming.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chemical inventories helps with hazardous waste planning.
Equipment inventories helps with identification AND location of various equipment that may require annual certification and/or inspection.
Training module provides support to lab staff, maintains training history, provides timely reminders, and allows upper management to identify overall laboratoy safety compliance in real time.
Just found out about the Document Library in Research Tools and couldn't be happier to now have an easy resource to provide critical resources directly to the research/faculty/students.
Rolling out the "new" Bio module Spring 2024 and hoping it will "standardize" IBC submissions/reviews and verify compliance to the NIH Guidelines across the University.

  ### 45. Good for bringing experiments and inventory together

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manon L. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 27, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

eLabNext provide quite comprehensive documentation and support to help groups set up their eLabJournal and inventory, which is nice. We were quite lucky to have a eLN representative in our city, which was helpful and was one of the reasons we chose this software.
Customer support is very responsive and seem happy to help with any questions or requests.
After spending lots of time on the desktop app, it is pretty easy to use once you get used to it. It is also easy to see that the software is constantly being improved, bit by bit.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

- Too many features are add-ons that I wish were installed from the get-go (e.g. batch edit/addition of samples, label printing/scanning, etc).
- Quite a few bugs that the technical support, while responsive, have struggled to fix.
- The app for phones/tablets is very much not a priority for the company, which is unfortunate as it could be a great tool.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

eLJ has helped us "centralise" our experiment information, data and inventory. No more Excel inventories or multiple physical notebooks to reconcile, we can now collaborate on a single platform.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> We're glad to hear that you find our documentation and support comprehensive and helpful. We understand your feedback about the add-ons and features, and will investigate the possibilities for this. Thank you for your input.

  ### 46. Very userfriendly, easy to use

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The structured overview of samples, the ease of use

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The system is very sensitive to spaces, underscores, etc. When several people are using it together, it makes it difficult to find samples sometimes.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a good overview of the inventory of our liquid nitrogen tanks, which makes it easy to give everyone a decent overview of the available samples.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for your feedback about our user-friendly interface and structured sample overview.
We understand your concerns about our system's sensitivity to spaces and underscores. We recommend reaching out to our Customer Success team to see how we can improve this experience for you and your team.

  ### 48. eLabJournal is an excellent tool for students training to be a laboratory technician

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anna P. | Lecturer / Scientist Applied Sciences , Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

We have been utilizing eLabJournal as a tool for our bachelor students training to become laboratory technicians. As it is used in many laboratories, it prepares our students for their future internships and careers in the field. Moreover, it accommodates both individual and group work within a single lab journal. This allows students to collaborate in projects while maintaining the option for individual experiments that are only visible for the student and educator. We will integrate the Lab inventory access for students in the future, which will allow students to independently plan their projects by assessing available materials, thereby promoting autonomy and initiative.

As educators, the ability to create templates for specific experiments and (part of) protocols streamlines the learning process. Providing feedback on the students labjournal is very easy and intuitive through the use of Comments. While there may be initial time investments required to assign students to different teaching modules, the subsequent clarity and organization achieved are invaluable: eLabJournal provides a comprehensive overview of classes, teaching modules, and assigned students, facilitating efficient evaluation of labjournals by educators.

The support provided by eLabJournal's customer service team has been great: they have provided excellent training and help with implementation of the labjournal in our organisation. Moreover, their prompt responsiveness and receptiveness to suggestions emphasize their willingness to help.

In summary, eLabJournal is a user-friendly platform that allows students to prepare experiments, report results, and collaborate effectively and allows educators to easily evaluate student's progress.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

Assigning students to various teaching modules requires some time.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We previously utilized OneNote as a digital lab journal tool, but we frequently faced synchronization issues. Despite students preparing their experiments in OneNote, educators were unable to access them. Furthermore, OneNote lacks a comments feature, making the provision of feedback challenging.
eLabJournal solved these problems for us.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Hi Anna, thank you for your detailed feedback on eLabJournal! We're glad to hear that it has been a valuable tool for your students' training and that it provides a comprehensive platform for both individual and group work. We appreciate your comments about the support provided by our customer service team, and we're pleased to have assisted with the implementation of eLabJournal in your organization.

In regards to having to assign students to their projects manually, we hear you and are exploring options for streamlining the assignment process.

  ### 49. Easy to use system, great for lab book and inventory

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jolien V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The inventory part of eLab is very strong, easy to navigate and can be made tailored to your own needs. The notebook part is easy to use. With the supplies and protocols software I didnt have experience, but the possibilities seem to be largely updated lately.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

eLabJournal is not very usefull in visualizing and working with molecular biology related samples. Next to that is it sometimes hard to find things when searching all notebook entries

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The sample tracking helped in solving contamination issues. It makes documentation easy. I've not been using eLabJournal anymore for the last year, but with the latest updates and possibilities I would reconsider it again in the future.

**Official Response from Olivia Hulst:**

> Thank you for sharing your positive experience with eLabJournal's inventory and lab notebook features. We understand your concerns about visualizing molecular biology samples and searching for entries, and we will work on improving these aspects for a better user experience.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2024

**What do you like best about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The Demos we have received were precisely prepared to fit our business. We were pressured with short implementation time but the Team from elabjournal was able to meet all deadlines and the installation and key user trainings were all finished on time. The support team was very responsive and concerns / issues were resolved within one business day.

**What do you dislike about SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield)?**

The ELN could be more intuitive, but its still nice to work with.

**What problems is SciSure (formerly known as eLabNext and SciShield) solving and how is that benefiting you?**
