I'm still exploring to enable batchjob monitoring and alerting and hopfully it will be resolved soon.

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The product work very well and does exactly as advertised. you can easily build dashboard from system data to know exactly what is going on in your systems.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Dynatrace's support is some of the worst I've experienced in a long time. Dynatrace is not a cheap product and I would have expected to be able to speak to a live person for what we pay, but this is not an option. You must email back and forth with support until your issue is resolved. Considering they are a platform used to monitor mission critical services, if one of those reports is not working as expected, you need to get that fixed quickly. Also if your issue is with a report and not with their core services, they do not treat your issue with any urgency. I would expect that if you have a report that is critical to your business operations that is not functioning they would have a way to get in touch with someone quickly to resolve.

They say that you get a dedicated CSM and account team to provide you with support any time you need, but I have reached out many times to my account team for issues or just help and most times they don't even respond. At this point I have just given up trying to contact them. 

They have an toll-free number you can call, but you have to just leave a message to call you back. 

Personnally I feel that their support is a complete joke, especially for a product that is a premium price costing thousands of dollars a year. 

If you are looking for a product to rely on for mission critical services, I suggest you look elsewhere because as soon as you have an issue it will takes days or even weeks to resolve leaving you blind where you may experience customer issues and outages and never know it.

We moved to dynatrace to be able to understand when customers are having issues and having the ability to analyze those issues and fix quickly.

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

The best part is we can easily integrate it with other testing tools. Dynatrace's Davis AI and user friendly interface helps us to keenly measure the performance of our applications. With the help of custom made dashboards we can easily montior the behaviour of our application. The system alerts us in advance, whenever it suspects any external threat to our applications, which helps us to mitigate the problem at the earliest. The support team is very approachable and helpful in resolving our queries.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

There is nothing much we dislike about Dynatrace.
Couple of suggestions - 1 - The pricing can be more competitive. 2 - Set up and configuration time needs to be reduced. 
Our application security team use Dynatrace on daily basis and all the other features and functionalities are commendable.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dynatrace has helped us to keenly monitor the performance of our application and track traffic which helps us to understand the behavior of our audience and provide them more better user experience. The custom made dashboard provides all the required information at one place which helps us to make calculative decisions. It takes us to root cause of the problem which helps us to easily fix and mitigate the issue. The real time and powerful insights has really helped us to predict and avoid every possible problems related to performance of our application.

That it is evolving with out needs. Last year I attended Perform and noted my main complaint was that extensions were poorly documented and supported when they had great potential. This year it is clear they have developed apps and extensions in ways that are even more helpful and made a real effort to imporve education and documentation.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Feeling like experimentation is costly. With DDU cost and especially DQL queries cost, it makes learning how to best use them feel dangerous and costly. Trial and error is a great way to learn but it can really burn the money with Dynatrace

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At this point it's solving so many problems it's hard to imagine going a day without leaning heavily on it to get work done. Initally our objective was observability but now wer are using it for things like FinPro, development, monitoring and problem tracking.

It is an easy-to-use, feature-rich monitoring tool with various plugins, the ability to interface with any third-party components, and the ability to design and launch your own plugin live. Dynatrace Monitoring's end-to-end view across the full stack offers faster resolution and more visibility. Dynatrace is in the forefront of technologies that enable modern software engineering methodologies like NOOPS, GITOPS, SRE, and so on. Products from Dynatrace aid in continuous monitoring, root cause analysis, anomaly detection, and self-healing.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

Although it uses network bandwidth and is difficult to link the custom plugin to the rest of the third-party tools, all of the capabilities are excellent. One thing I dislike about the Dynatrace tool is that, even with the alert monitoring threshold set, we occasionally received false warnings while the application was running. Due to the breadth of Dynatrace's functionality, it's an ocean that a newbie/beginner would struggle to cross.

We primarily use Dynatrace for service and operations management of important systems and infrastructure; it has been an excellent tool in this area, assisting us in improving the overall client experience. It allows our operations personnel to see and troubleshoot requests, resulting in improved compliance with our service level agreements with our customers. We utilize Dynatrace to monitor our on-premises workloads as well as some of our cloud workloads so that we can detect which instances need to be scaled. We save time by not attempting to hack cloud monitoring logs; instead, Dynatrace provides suitable monitoring for cloud-based or online apps, as well as live monitoring and active alerts depending on our requirements.

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

It delivers live alerts and synthetic monitoring of online or cloud-based apps with adequate tracking and monitoring, as well as sophisticated predictive data analysis and implementation that is exceedingly simple to use. As a DevOps enthusiast, I appreciated dynatrace because of its Davis AI Engine with software intelligence, which reduces my daily responsibilities for monitoring hosts/VMs, all in one location, thanks to its intelligent landscape dashboards and topologies. Dynatrace technologies enable seamless monitoring, root cause analysis, anomaly detection, and support for current software engineering approaches such as NoOps, GitOps, SRE, and others autocorrect.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

One thing I don't like is the alert monitoring threshold it provides, since we have gotten multiple false signals when testing the application's operation. The synthetic monitoring is beneficial, but smaller organizations cannot use it owing to encryption. Because of Dynatrace range of features, it is an ocean that a novice or newbie would find impossible to navigate; the initial phase requires an experienced user.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool provides synthetic monitoring, displaying real-time application availability statistics. Dynatrace is fantastic at finding the root causes of issues, which has been a huge assistance to our team. We can rapidly identify which services have been delayed or stopped, as well as what is causing other systems to fail. The additional API and SDK for log ingestion for enhanced log visualization and a clearer perspective of application security, the greatest part is that Dyantrace can be used to make business analytics choices. We use Dynatrace to monitor our on-premises workloads as well as some of our cloud workloads; we can identify which instances need to be scaled, and we save time deciphering Cloudwatch logs.

The biggest challenge that we have with Dynatrace is in the process of Integration with Applications and Integrations which involves the usage of ActiveGatways. In this modern world, we feel it should be much seemless through the usage of API Keys etc.

My team isn't really big on using logs, so being able to log values in real time is a real time saver. Whiel I usually work on the frontend side of things, having the ability to debug the backend live helps me navigate through contexts I usually lack.

There are times the ability to detect the correct source code for an environment has been a pain. I wish this feature was given more attention.

The Kubernetes implementation has been buggy for a long time. The Support fuction is slow and often doesn't resolve the issues.

Very cumbersome Dynatrace query language. 

Gaps we have observed are lack of AWS VPC monitoring (VPC endpoint metrics)
MSK - very basic metrics
Delays in problems alerting. 
Very few AWS service default dashboard (RDS, DocumentDB etc)

**What do you like best about Dynatrace?**

Can easily set up and catch example data from runs. Can sometimes be a good alternative to going into the code and adding logs - doesn't require us to deploy and wait for logs to go live. UI is good and intuitive.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

When your flows contain a lot of data, and you want to explore all of this data, rookout doesn't catch all of it by default, and you are required to click "Collect more" which still doesn't collect all data you usually need if it's huge. I would prefer it to collect 1 example of full data from one flow/run instead of trying to collect partial samples from many flows. As a result rookout is mostly useless if you're trying to find, for example, if a specific entry exists in an array of size 100.

The most serious flaw is that conditional breakpoints a lot of times don't work (in Wix's case I never managed to create a conditional breakpoint by metaSiteId or requestId).

Also missing a feature to "collect sample from one run and that's it, stop".

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Don't have to pollute code with logs. When debugging in production saves the time it takes for a log to deploy (and the time to write the log). As a result I'm writing less code that's not relaed to business logic.

> Thanks you for the feedback. Our SDKs to ensure that they can safely be used in production environments and as such, we do not collect the complete snapshot in cases where there is a lot of data. As you mention, we do enable the users to specify which variables should be collected in priority. We have captured your feature request around a one time complete collection and will work with our product team to assess in our backlog.
Regarding leveraging conditional breakpoints - this is currently not supported on natives on Scala, but is certainly part of our roadmap! Feel free to reach out to us at any time!

The UX in the web app might need to be reviewed as it is not so intuitive and it has some glitches. Also, although the IntelliJ plugin es really useful, it is still buggy and lacks of features that the web app provides.

Our deployed environment is complex, involving lot of services and technologies. It would be impossible to do remote debugging and having everything integrated in the way that rookout does it made it easy for our developers to debug in real environments.

The search on the rookout web is not the best - need to search by the name of the class and it offers you all the existing repositories which is a bit confusing (you can see the repo name on the side of the class name, and it can be missed so the debug point are not aligned with the real code lines)
better to have more clear class name to repo relation to avoid confusion.

also, when you want to put multiple break points in one flow that contains multiple classes - need to xearch by class name each one. If it could be like on intelij - command + click on the function name and it will lead you to the relevant class - it can improve the ux a lot.

I love the privilege of having real-time warnings and also accurate monitoring and tracking of apps on the internet or in the cloud, along with having an alert. I like that the virtual assistant that comes with the device is also very intelligent and helpful in finding possible root causes of disturbances. I like that it has tools and features that are simple to use and also configure to get the most benefit and analysis of questions or follow-ups from this technology. I love the convenience of being able to develop tables, as they can be tailored to the requests of the app owners in terms of warnings to issue to avoid risks in these.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

A bit short for customization and combination with different people's tools. Modifications are made to make delivery and ensure a study with the requested information and a more apt investigation. The instrument takes several minutes to exhibit the movements, wasting a significant number of fundamental time. A feature that I do not like about the Dynatrace tool is the number of alerts it offers to verify the application's operability, as we have received many erroneous signs when checking the application's capacity.

It is an outstanding web crawling software program, which has advanced features and analysis that have helped us to make meaningful decisions to make the web more enjoyable for users. It provides excellent rendering, which makes it possible to immediately distinguish disturbing areas and perform preventable treatment on areas that resemble to be rotten. It has drastically improved response times for requests or service calls, resulting in greatly improved app response times. This same tool also offers simulated monitoring, which displays information on how available the application is in real time.

Rookout saved us hours in debugging a remote environment, just by giving us the ability to add some breakpoints or see data without adding printing and waiting for deployment cycle. We used it on a daily basis, and it was very helpful.

The fact that it works out of the box, the setup/configuration step is very minimal and it solves such complex problems amazes me. It removes the need of adding logs or similar things to debug complex bugs, therefore it saves not only time, but also money, cause pipelines of deploying such debug-related code take a lot of computing and time to run.

**What do you dislike about Dynatrace?**

The UI is good but perhaps it could be more intuitive, i.e. sometimes the breakpoint doesn't appear immediately, it could give us some suggestions on i.e. not putting breakpoints on lazy vals that could corrupt the data being collected, etc.

**What problems is Dynatrace solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Bug solving in production. i.e. a wrong type is used in the code and that causes the code to break. This makes me more productive cause I have to spend less time writing code, pushing it for review, deploying it, etc.
