## About DX
DX is the developer intelligence platform designed by leading researchers to help engineering organizations measure productivity and navigate the shift to AI-augmented engineering. The platform provides research-backed measurement by unifying quantitative data from SDLC tools with qualitative, developer-reported friction to offer a complete view of engineering performance. By serving hundreds of the world’s most iconic companies, including Dropbox, Pfizer, and Uber, DX provides the data and insights leaders need to lead with confidence in the AI era. Measuring productivity has long been an elusive challenge, but DX anchors insights in validated signals through the DX Core 4—measuring speed, effectiveness, quality, and impact—and the Developer Experience Index (DXI). These frameworks allow organizations to see how developers work and where they get stuck to reduce friction and boost satisfaction. By using tools like Workflow Analysis, Experience Sampling, and DevSat, DX captures the conditions developers need to deliver effectively, moving beyond "culture fluff" to connect developer friction directly to business impact. The platform offers extensive Engineering Productivity capabilities, including SDLC Analytics, TrueThroughput™, and Engineering Allocation to align engineering with business goals. Leaders can use Team Dashboards and Custom Reporting to find bottlenecks, while R&D Capitalization and Sprint Analytics provide precise evaluation of organizational performance. To understand how a company compares to the broader market, Industry Benchmarking allows for a precise evaluation of performance against specific peer companies and industry segments. To manage the transition to generative AI, DX provides a specialized AI Measurement framework. This allows leaders to track GenAI adoption and impact to guide smarter decisions at scale. Organizations use these insights for Strategic Planning, Vendor Evaluation, and AI Workflow Optimization, ensuring that AI investments result in tangible improvements to engineering velocity. Additionally, AI Enablement tools—including the Systems Catalog, Context Management, and the Internal Developer Portal—help unify context from across the SDLC to power an AI-native future. This suite also includes AI Readiness assessments, Agent Ops Tools, and Scorecards to ensure developer self-service is optimized for high output. DX AI serves as an AI Copilot for engineering leaders, acting as an analytical layer over the organization's data. Instead of static dashboards, DX AI continuously delivers insights and flags risks automatically. It helps leaders answer complex questions about their data, creates custom reports from simple prompts, and provides specific AI Recommendations on where leaders should focus next. Every insight in DX is designed to be actionable, leading toward a clearer question or a concrete next step. Through Executive Reporting and Targeted Studies, the platform provides CXOs and managers with the evidence needed to decide more effectively. By identifying measurement gaps and revealing what the data or developer voice shows, DX helps organizations optimize their engineering performance in an increasingly complex technical landscape.

## DX Reviews
 ### 1. After using 6 tools over the last several years, this one feels the best fit for how we think.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Developer Experience is at the core of what they do, not a bolt-on. We're able to drive meaningful discussions and changes backed by the aggregate experiences and voices of our entire engineering organization. We're then able to track against the commits we make to the org and then map the outcomes of those commitments to the increases in performance.

We're also able to slice data to help fine-tune areas of focus based on team/tenure/experience/level/skills etc -- that's huge in the ability for us to identify friction how we deliver value across the org.

Customer support is solid. We've found a few bugs, but they are fixed within a day of being reported. We've also made a couple of UX requests and those two were considered and then implemented.

I use it multiple times a week to check on teams, track against goals, etc. It's easy to use, especially with the new reporting tools they've implemented/revamped.

They use workdayos, so many of the integrations are very simple. And getting the implementation up and running with github/jira, etc, was quick and painless.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I would like to see more intentional focus being able to craft. single org/team perf snapshot and display that in a way that's immediate. I do have to go through a couple of reports to get the details that I want. It's not big deal, but I do want that.

I wish there were more pre-baked reports/UIs on evaluating performances of key metrics of teams/individuals relative to their peers expressed in terms of percentiles. All of the data is there, but sometimes I have to dig more than I want to get to it.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps us get to the voice of our engineering org and understand performance trends across the org to identify friction in delivering value.

 ### 2. Great tool if you are looking for software development metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I really like the different metrics DX provided to track team and individual productivity. In the past, we had to write scripts to pull statistics from GitHub and now we can just utilize DX to view the metrics in a nice UI. Meanwhile, it also gave us some more ideas on metrics to track and look into. We use the snapshot survey quarterly which is a more developer focused survey and enabled us to collect better/more data from the team.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I think it took some time to fully understand the intent and terms of the different metrics and reports. Luckily, DX team provided some onboarding sessions and office hours to resolve them.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

To get a better picture of team productivity and areas to improve so we could speed up development and product delivery for our customers.

 ### 3. Finally, an eng productivity tool that gets it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Leonard S. | Director of Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

It's a wonderful blend of qualitative and quantitative metrics that gets at the heart of how to run an efficient engineering organization. It treats engineers like humans, while also supporting an incredibly healthy bottom line and disincentivizing "gaming" the system by holding engineers accountable at the team level.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Hard to say. It's early days; some of the UI isn't as refined as it could be, but that doesn't stop me from using it.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's a notoriously sticky problem to run a highly efficient engineering organization that is providing as much value as possible to users and the organization without harming morale and increasing attrition. GetDX gives you the tools to do just that.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Quantitative metrics were easy to deploy, and easy to understand. Qualitative metrics (snapshots) dovetail in quite nicely. Our account liaison is an excellent partner.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There is a lot of data and it comes with a steep learning curve. Making sense of all of the information, learning what's applicable and what's not, takes a long time.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage the Developer Experience team, and so my primary focus is ensuring that our developers are at optimal functionality. I care very much about the lived experience and well-being of our employees, as well as their output and velocity. DX gives me insight into all of this.

 ### 6. DX has been nothing short of transformational for our engineering org.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 16, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Over the past two years, since we began running quarterly DX surveys to better understand developer satisfaction across both qualitative and quantitative dimensions, we’ve seen consistent, quarter-over-quarter improvements in satisfaction scores across all teams.

For context, when we first adopted DX, our scores were just above the 50th percentile in DX's own Developer Experience industry benchmark. Two years later, we’re now above the 90th percentile!

Every time a DX survey goes out, we see a 90%+ response rate across all teams within the first week. This trend has held steady across every survey we’ve run. It speaks not only to the effectiveness of DX’s notification system but, more importantly, to the fact that our developers want to give feedback—because they’ve seen that it leads to action. Survey results are made available to everyone as soon as the survey closes, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. Everyone knows where things stand, and that awareness motivates teams to keep improving.

That said, DX isn’t a silver bullet. It won’t solve your problems for you—but it will help you find them, track your progress in solving them, and foster a habit of continuous improvement, both across the organization and within individual teams.

If you’re adopting DX, it’s important to be ready to act on what you hear—especially at the team level. The platform gives you the tools to do this, but ultimately it’s up to the organization to empower teams to take ownership of their outcomes. Running surveys without meaningful follow-up is a fast track to developer disengagement.

The DX team has been incredible—responsive, thoughtful, and always open to feedback. They ship improvements regularly (almost every other month), and I've felt all changes and additions always useful, never bloated or unnecessary.

The dashboard is very intuitive. It’s easy to navigate, and you get clear, meaningful insights.

Onboarding and integration with our existing tools was smooth, and our account manager and support team have been consistently helpful and quick to respond whenever we had a question or had some issue.

There are very few tools I’ve seen that have had such a tangible, positive impact on an organization. DX is absolutely one of them—and it’s a tool I’ll be bringing with me to any future company I join.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

As a tool built for large enterprises, DX’s API could—and frankly should—be more robust to support custom integrations. In particular, the ability to manage certain entities programmatically (without manual intervention) would be a big improvement.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX is helping us identify and track the real issues affecting developer experience across our teams. Before DX, we had limited visibility into how developers actually felt about their day-to-day work or how our internal tooling and processes were impacting them. Now, with consistent quarterly surveys and transparent, team-level insights, we’re able to spot pain points early, take meaningful action, and measure the impact of those changes over time.

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 17, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We primarily use DX Snapshots, where they've been really valuable for understanding the friction our engineers are experiencing. The fact you can use custom and self-reported attributes to segment your users is super great. We also have used Studies to dive deeper to understand more around how to improve our products for our customers, which we've then used to validate and reassess our roadmaps and priorities. DX primarily integrates with Slack and is very configurable, which makes it really easy to adopt and use.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There are some great product features that have been added that I don't dislike but we're just yet to explore like PlatformX + Snapshot branching, but Studies is still being improved which is exciting, since it's a small agile company that's constantly evolving.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The insights of teams that are also compared against across companies of the same scale
Give a real metric of how AI impact performance to avoid the whole fuzziness of "80% performance growth" and focus on real problems.
Triaging
Ease of finding the right information

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Specific topics, i would make this grow to more topics without making it more complex.
AI specific topics maybe

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Product related delays
Developer experience through teams
Developer performances and what is blocking us

 ### 29. Transforming your engineering culture with DX

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The product is intuitive and its truly from devs for devs but includes also non-coders. The CSMs and support is very helpful and timely.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

- There could be more features to gamify incentives for engineers (like create award categories, bonus points etc.)
- some features are limited, e.g. exporting comments from Drivers doesn't include replies

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The main goal for us is to change the engineering culture to be positive and building-focused. We also want to have a quantitative and qualitative way to define our platform roadmap and help developers across the products.

 ### 30. Positive Experience for Engineering Managers looking to have high level visibility into performance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I like that there are a lot of reports that exist that I would never think about making. Sometimes I go into DX just to explore and learn new things

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I would love for there to be places to know more about the source of "industry" data. In many reports there will be a "Industry P75" or some other external metric drawn on the graph as a baseline. I would like to know where this baseline data comes from and "why" I should be comparing my self to it.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX Helps me get high level visilbity into my team's performance. I primarily use it for PR review and cycle time stats

 ### 31. The most comprehensive Developer Experience tool I've used.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 26, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX is super easy to integrate with, incredibly flexible in the way you use it and set it up and its survey tools are first class. Combining qualitative and quantitative data into the same tool is a game changer, and their customer support is first class.

DX are clearly thought leaders in this space and the product continues to show that.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I honestly don't have a single gripe and they are incredibly open to feedback which they action impressively quickly.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX gives me a new level of visibility on our squads that is invaluable.

 ### 32. Engineering Team Lead @ Semperis

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I really like the compression options if it is other companies or other team at your work place.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I don't like that me as a manager don't have the option to ask specific question that related to my team and the option it will be private just for me, also some of the questions are not relevant for my team so I would like to see other questions depends on the team (Frontend, Backend for example)

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help me figure which items we need to improve each time and focus how to solve them in the next period.

 ### 33. Really good insights

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Really east to use and a really good new interface. The amount of data available gives you the capability to objectively analyse all the processes and get really precious insights

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The huge amount of data sometimes gives you too much headache because you have a lot of ways to read those data.
The key indicators are a really good indicator.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Improve the tech team way of working, focusing on developer experience too.

 ### 34. Great tool to get the team sentiment and feedback!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX helped us in getting a clear idea from our team regarding the overall sentiment and feedback so that we can prioritize improving the score before we roll out the next survey. It helped us to compare the score in each quarter with the previous score and to see the progress we have made so far. It is easy to use, and the implementation was also smooth.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I didn't find any issues so far! The ease of implementation and usage saved us a lot of time.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped us in getting the feedback and suggestions from the team so that we could prioritize and improve the areas based on these.

 ### 35. Opinionated feedback collection for improving engineering teams

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles G. | VP of Engineering, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 26, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I like that DX is very opinionated about what information is worth tracking. These opinions are based on solid research and allow me to get valuable feedback without having to write my own survey. There's is also better than any I would write myself and is comparable to industry benchmarks.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Occasionally I want to ask a question that is not in their defaults, and there isn't an easy way to do it.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quantitative measurement of engineering productivity is a really hard problem. DX creates a really powerful feedback loop for using feedback from engineers to build that dataset.

 ### 36. An excellent product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 29, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We use DX quarterly to figure out what's causing friction in our software teams. The UI is slick and easy to use from both an admin POV and as an engineer being surveyed. One feature I really like is the daily auto nudge reminding engineers to complete the survey - this has meant we've had a very high %90+ participation rate in all of the surveys we've done. It's also great to see them incorporate useful AI features such as summaries of engineer comments.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

There's nothing I dislike about DX, it's fantastic.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us work out what's causing friction in our development processes.

 ### 37. A useful and convenient tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The simplicity of the generated surveys and the fact that they do not deter people from filling them out by their form.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I haven't noticed anything specific that is worth mentioning

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Allows us to measure satisfaction with various aspects of our processes used during software development. We use this to determine areas that need improvement and to assess whether the changes made during the past quarter have resulted in actual improvements.

 ### 38. DX is insightful to understand both the actual and perceived developer experiances

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The DX snapshots provide good reflection points on how the teams productivity is going. There are many metrics to track and it is nice to have the comparison from different industry standards or your own teams previous report

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Understanding what metrics to focus on can make it difficult to prioritize how to improve the team.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Providing questions and feedback loops to improve developer experiences and encourage reflection to self improvment.

 ### 39. A great addition to our teams tooling!

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

GetDX shine by allowing flexibility to generate and monitor any metrics the team would need, while providing insights it would not have thought about.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

GetDX could offer a bit more flexibility to build dashboards.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I wanted a tool to help me generate and monitor my metrics, and help me to discuss around them. GetDX does all of this and even more, by providing insights, while not introducing any heavy processes.

 ### 40. Measuring yourself against the best

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Knowing how well an Engineering team is doing on various aspects is a very difficult task. The quarterly DX survey gives us two things, namely feedback directly from the engineers on things that are working and that are not working, and a way for us to compare ourselves to industry peers. Those two things really help us to know where to focus improvements.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

It's not cheap for a survey, but once you understand the benefit and it is important to you, it will make the decision easier.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is giving us insights (from our engineers and our industry peers) where we should focus improvements in our engineering team.

 ### 41. Easy to get started, easy to use!

**What do you like best about DX?**

- Super easy to get started
- The team is very responsive and easy to work with
- The user interface is intuitive
- The ability to create team-based alerts is useful

**What do you dislike about DX?**

- The ability to measure and look at specific examples where speed of delivery was an issue is somewhat limited
- Integration with Linear is limited

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly, measurement of developer productivity (specifically cycle time)

 ### 42. The model behind the questions and categories works really well for me.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Renewables & Environment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I was skeptical at first, but found that the model behind it all makes a difference - it's much more than just a survey and visualisation. The questions and categories are well thought out and are relevant to my day to day development work.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Not sure whether it's only our configuration, but I find it nudges users over slack pretty aggressively.
I'd love to see a chart with the results over time, as opposed to only a comparison between snapshots.
Haven't found a way to visualize it like that.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I verify whether initiatives in development practices and processes yield results and get feedback from the wider team.

 ### 43. User of Dx

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Gambling & Casinos | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 24, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

I like that I have many reports to use and I can get important info about my team's productivity and efficiency.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

I don't like that I can not set timezones and working days/time.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More predictable deployment cycles, and improved collaboration across teams. Overall, DX is boosting our efficiency, reducing errors, and enabling us to deliver value to our users more quickly and reliably.

 ### 44. DX is the engineering management dashboard you've been waiting for.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph M. | Sr Dir DevOps, Security, & IT Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 01, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

The rigorous research that backs all of the products they build.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

While their survey tools are best in class, they are still building out their metrics offerings.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX solves the problem of knowing how efficiently we are building software, and compares to benchmarks of other companies in their sample.

 ### 45. Single place to have developer voices and developer work metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

- Developer experience pre-built surveys
- Ability to compare your company scoring with the industry
- Surveys and metrics in a single place

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Started using DX platform quite recently, cons not observed yet :)

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DX gathers developer voices and work metrics in a single place - so that we can collects results, compare with the industry, and compare from quarter to quarter.

 ### 46. DX helps boost software engineers productivity by helping focus on the right thing

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Insurance | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 08, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

DX is a comprehensive engineering insights platform that combines survey capabilities with data analytics. Its AI-generated recommendations and strong survey features are key for tracking our internal developers productivity. The platform excels at integrating with development tools like GitHub, Linear, and Incident.io, providing valuable metrics and benchmarks. The includes a team-based analytics and onboarding features.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

The UI of some features could be improved, like the Data Studio. But it's not features used daily

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Tracking developper productivity and areas of improvements

 ### 47. Easy to use, helpful metrics

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

We've been using DX for DORA metrics as well as getting feedback about developer experience. Everything has been easy to set up and use. Support has been very quick and helpful.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

We ran into some hurdles initially with data correctness, but support helped us get past them relatively quickly.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

My team works on internal tools for other developers and it helps us collect useful data on what our users want.

 ### 48. Great way to measure developer experience projects

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edward S. | Architect - QA & Automation, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

DX helps give a developer voice to the system data, allowing us to make sure everyone has a say in technical direction.

 ### 49. DX is an invaluable tool for engineering organisations

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 07, 2025

**What do you like best about DX?**

Snapshot surveys give engineers a voice and surface clear insights on how we can improve our processes, tools, and workflows. The integrations fit our tool stack perfectly, and full, transparent access, to data to create custom reports and dashboards is just fantastic.

**What do you dislike about DX?**

Depending on the processes and tools used, some things such as capturing incident data requires custom configuration and setup.

**What problems is DX solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Uncovering bottlenecks in processes.

 ### 50. Easy and useful

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexandra B. | Internal Processes Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 17, 2024
