Dropbox Paper Pros and Cons

I love being able to create and edit documents between myself and my team without having to leave the Dropbox application. We are able to actually do everything in one place. I also like the fact that this can be done during our meetings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The only problem I had intially was setting up the application, not because I was not aware how to. I use this along with Google so others in our company are linked to it and it was a slight challenge for them. Once we got it up and working thought it went pretty well. Dropbox Paper is incredibly user-friendly, and the templates provided make it very easy to get started without much previous technical savviness. I love using the templates provided to gather and organize notes for onboarding calls and keep everything in easy-to-access locations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

While it works great for my personal use working at home, I can see where it may be difficult for everyone to use Dropbox Paper. So many of us have Google Drive linked with our email accounts, and it can be difficult to pick one over the other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Hard to say what I like "best" unless it can be one collection of multiple things. Let's get right to it:

- the document looks like a work of art with minimal effort

- formatting is cohesive and consistent

- outlines are hyperlinked

- easy to add outside media (images, for example)

- incredibly beautiful emojis! This is at the top of my list

- importing new emojis is second on my list :)

- ease to share

- assign items

- create checklists

- fun encouraging words to avoid writer's block ("Give me a name", "Now write something brilliant"

- setting timelines

I'm not sure that there is anything I dislike. I think I'm patient and hopeful that as the product evolves, some features I'm hoping for will be implemented.

For example, once an image is imported, I'd love to be able to highlight or point arrows at specific parts of an image.

I'd also like to have more highlighting colors (I think there are 6 now), and possibly colored fonts. Also, some more bullet list options would be great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love how easy it is to collaborate on documents with team members. It allows my team to make changes to documents anywhere, at any time! It makes it super easy to work remotely Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The one thing I dislike about Dropbox Paper is that some of its competitors are more user friendly. For example, Google Docs is more user friendly and integrates well with GMail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how it isn't a split-up document. If you want to, the "paper" can go on forever. It's beneficial as a teacher's assistant.It' s versitile with other media outlets such as google, youtube, spotify, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The features were a bit tricky to figure out at first. You really have to do your research or watch the tutorial since it can be meant for so many different creators, you have to figure out what works best for you and your purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Dropbox Paper does have a lot going for it, don't get me wrong. Being a collaboration tool and a way to bring your team together to work on a project or task is only one of the things that make this product worth using. You also get a lot more liberty when creating things when you go to set up your document or folder unlike some of the other programs that I have used. I personally like it, while it drives some people I know crazy. Hands down, the best thing about Dropbox Paper is that it is free to use after you set up your account if you don't have one already, provided you are OK with the space limitations set forth by the company. There are some cons to Dropbox Paper that prevent me from shouting its name from the rooftops. Initially getting things set up and started was a good deal more convoluted than any of the other similar programs that I have worked with. Using this program for business purposes is where I really felt let down. You aren't going to get all of the bells and whistles that you get to make your documents look unique or polished like you can with other programs. Overall, Dropbox needs to decide if they are going to move forward with this thing so that they can dump some cash and resources into it, or leave it as a free option and let it be so users won't get their hopes dashed when the updates we are all hoping for never come. I can fire resumes, keep files and all kinds of things with Dropbox paper. I like that it helps me keep track of files, resumes, etc. I use it with Indeed daily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't like that I can't use it in more areas of my life, lol. I've not had any problems out of Dropbox Paper. I don't have any insight on improvement s at this time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
