**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

Drivetrain has helped us move away from Excel for reporting and budgeting. We’ve been able to generate a lot of useful insights for different teams, and it’s also allowed us to automate much of our reporting process, which has made things more consistent and easier to manage.
The implementation (& overall customer support team) has been very smooth and there was an amazing collaboration with the team to bring us up to speed and allow us to be mostly self sufficient. It integrates with most of our tools natively and if it doesn't there are always workarounds (API, csv, googlesheet, etc.).

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

There’s a learning curve, and it takes some involvement and curiosity to get the most out of the platform.

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved away from legacy Excel reports that were difficult to maintain and keep up to date. Since then, our budgeting time has decreased significantly. Drivetrain also lets us do scenario modeling and easily compare outputs, which makes it much simpler to evaluate different assumptions and see the impact.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

Drivetrain has been incredible in helping my team manage and analyze our companies data. Prior to implementing Drivetrain all of our data sat in independent systems which meant data was fragmented and required constant manipulation to conduct meaningful analysis. Our monthly close process took over a week as a result. Post-Implementation we now have instant access to our data and the various transformations and adjustments are handled automatically in the background with no more reconciliation issues. 

We did the implementation ourselves with the support of their team and found the system intuitive and modeling was very similar to excel so the learning curve was manageable.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

The primary downsides from my perspective:

1) Change Management: If you have a culture (CFO / PE or VC investors) who are overly anchored on Excel reports or highly specific visuals, you may have trouble getting full value out of the tool. There will be a learning curve for all users.

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) Helping me manage my fragmented and imperfect data

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

Drivetrain is the FP&A solution that actually empowers finance professionals. The platform offers comprehensive financial management, encompassing budgeting and forecasting, as well as financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The platform connects directly to our source systems, which means we spend far less time pulling data and more time analyzing it.  I also appreciate the real-time dashboards and reporting, as well as the ability to quickly run what-if scenarios across budget, forecast, headcount, cash flow, and revenue planning. The AI features (e.g., natural language analysis, model generation, anomaly detection, and “plain English” data transformations) are a significant productivity boost.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

One aspect I find lacking in Drivetrain is the limited ability to customize report branding during export. For instance, it's not possible to add our company logo to the report's cover page. I also wish there were more options for global color customization—specifically, the option to set a company color palette or brand theme so that all charts would automatically use those colors by default. Consistent brand colors are crucial for many organizations, not only for maintaining a professional appearance but also to avoid resembling competitors too closely. Greater centralized control over colors and styling would significantly enhance the platform.

This tool replaces the need for fragile, spreadsheet-based planning by automating data consolidation and ensuring that reports and forecasts remain current through integrations. As a result, it enhances visibility into budget versus actuals, accelerates forecasting and scenario planning, and enables us to align cross-functional stakeholders around a single source of truth. Ultimately, this leads to faster planning cycles, quicker decision-making, and greater confidence in the numbers, since models and dashboards update automatically as the underlying data changes.

Drivetrain’s biggest strength is its scenario-modeling capability, paired with a clear single source of truth. It’s easy to create multiple scenarios, compare outcomes side by side, and adjust assumptions quickly without breaking models or duplicating work. This is especially valuable for strategic planning, reforecasting, and decision support.

The platform also integrates well with other systems, which helps keep data flowing cleanly and reduces the need for manual reconciliation. Having actuals, forecasts, and scenarios connected in one environment improves confidence in the numbers and supports better alignment across the business.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

There are still areas where the depth and overall polish are evolving, especially when it comes to more complex reporting or highly customized edge cases. As a power user, you may need to invest some time learning the best way to structure models in order to fully take advantage of the platform. That said, the product roadmap is moving quickly, and it’s clear that feedback is being incorporated.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

I like how flexible and intuitive Drivetrain is compared to traditional FP&A tools. It allows us to build and adjust financial models without being locked into rigid templates, which is especially helpful as our business evolves. The real-time scenario modeling is a big plus. We can quickly test different assumptions and immediately see the impact on revenue, cash flow, and profitability. It saves a lot of time and makes conversations with leadership more data-driven. I also appreciate how Drivetrain has significantly reduced the manual work we used to do in spreadsheets and made collaboration between finance and other teams much smoother. The integration with our accounting system and CRM to keep forecasts and reports up to date without manual data entry is very useful. Lastly, I found the initial setup fairly straightforward and the support by their onboarding team was helpful.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

While Drivetrain is a powerful tool, some of the more advanced modeling features have a learning curve, especially for users who aren’t coming from a strong FP&A background. It takes a bit of time to fully understand how to structure more complex models efficiently. More guided workflows or best-practice templates for advanced use cases—such as multi-scenario planning, headcount modeling, or long-term forecasting—would help reduce setup time and make the platform easier to scale. Clearer documentation and in-app guidance around complex formulas and dependencies would also be beneficial.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

The platform has completely transformed how we run FP&A at our company. The biggest thing for me is how much faster I can build scenarios and update our forecasts. What used to take hours in Excel now happens in minutes. The interface is actually intuitive, which is rare for finance software. I also love that I can connect directly to our data sources instead of constantly exporting and importing CSV files. The collaboration features make it way easier to work with our sales and ops teams on planning. Everyone can see the same numbers in real time, which has eliminated so many version control headaches.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

There's a learning curve at first, especially if you're coming from pure spreadsheet workflows. Some of the more advanced features took me a bit to figure out. The documentation could be stronger in certain areas. Occasionally I run into small bugs with the data connectors, though their support team is usually quick to help. I wish there were more keyboard shortcuts for power users. The mobile experience isn't great either, but honestly I mostly use it from my laptop anyway so not a huge deal.

We were stuck in the old world of massive Excel models that would break constantly and required way too much manual work. Our forecast cycles were painful and took forever. Drivetrain has completely streamlined that process. Now I can spin up different scenarios in minutes instead of days. The integration with our CRM and ERP means we're working with live data, which has made our forecasts so much more accurate. It's also helped break down silos between finance and the rest of the company. When sales wants to see how hitting their targets impacts the business, I can show them instantly. That kind of collaboration has actually improved how we plan as an organization. The time savings alone have been worth it, but the better insights we're getting are what really matter.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

The customer service levels are fantastic; these guys are serious about ensuring that their product meets the needs of their customers.  
I have multiple instances of quickbooks online that I have to consolidate to get an accurate picture; before, every time there is a request internally or from investors or potential investors, i would have to download multiple csvs, consolidate, and slice and dice data manually which would take hours for every request that would come in.  Drivetrain basically gives me all of my KPIs, dashboards, customer information, vendor information, etc across all instances of quickbooks in one database, and I can get insights in seconds (vs. hours).  We were at the stage of considering a brand new expensive ERP, but Drivetrain has given me the insights I needed and has extended the useful life of quickbooks by years and avoids a very expensive and time consuming ERP implementation.  The implementation was 95% done by Drivetrain themselves (vs. an ERP implementation which requires a huge effort from the end users), and the integration with other apps is very good.

I cannot understate how much Drivetrain has made my life easier, and how core it is to my workflow, particularly during high pressure times such as generating reports for potential investors.  If there were issues in the data, the team jumped on the issues right away and were solved overnight.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

I still haven't used the forecasting tool to its full capabilities due to resource constraints internally, so we still use Excel to dynamically change our forecast and multi-year plans.

It is consolidating the multiple instances of the accounting records, and creates useful KPIs and other insights.  A real time saver.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

The Drivetrain tool is highly customizable and can be tailored to our unique business needs. Internally, we’ve received great feedback from both report users and model users on Drivetrain’s enhanced capabilities and the insights it provides to our business, as well as usability. Its modeling flexibility has significantly improved our ability to budget and forecast with speed and accuracy, as well as build scenarios and create new versions on a whim.

Our team was prioritizing several large projects at the beginning of the year, and had to extend our implementation timeline, which Drivetrain was very accommodating in pushing that out and still getting us up and running on the platform timely.

Since we adopted Drivetrain recently (within the past year), I’d be remiss if I didn’t call out the most impressive aspect of the experience: the customer service. Our organization went from budgeting in Excel to budgeting in a top-of-the-line software that is Drivetrain, and there were—and still are—a lot of learning curves and mistakes along the way. The Drivetrain team, specifically Nikhil, has helped us work through issues at all hours of the day. We truly appreciate the level of support, which has been better than any vendor we’ve partnered with in the past.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

Drivetrain is a relatively new product, so it does come with some bugs and occasional issues that pop up from time to time, which is to be expected. However, the open lines of communication with Drivetrain, along with an excellent and responsive customer service team, make a real difference. They are consistently prompt in addressing issues, even at all hours of the day.

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Prior to Drivetrain, modeling in excel was cumbersome, and creating any types of scenarios or versions was extremely difficult.  Drivetrain allows for ease of scenario creation in minutes, not days, allowing us to refine our budget and forecasting in a streamlined, expedited manor.  Additionally, our team was spending too much time creating reports, and not enough time forward thinking, and the reports functionality in drivetrain allows us to refresh data, and update reports instantaneously, which has proven very efficient.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

Flexibility is the biggest strength for me. If I can visualize a forecasting metric or report, I’ve been able to build it out in the product. Any blockers have always been resolved quickly by the support team.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

There is a learning period which is definitely a time commitment early on, but not without payoff. Also, the lack of AI analytics for variance analysis is an for improvement.

Drivetrain is helping us solve several key problems, especially by automating reporting and board metrics. Another big win is that our hiring plan now lives in Drivetrain, and it’s been a success so far. I keep coming back to the flexibility in Drivetrain— easily its biggest strength for us.

DriveTrain provides a native integration with our accounting software, making implementation straightforward and ensuring that all our data is easily accessible on the platform. It brings together consolidation, planning, and reporting capabilities in a single solution, which greatly simplifies our workflow. Our entire management team uses the cloud-based system daily. Additionally, we receive excellent customer support through online channels.

An amazing combination of a data warehouse and an FP&A modeling tool. You can pull full data sets from almost anywhere, then use them to build a comprehensive planning model that’s now integrated into many of our daily operations.

This is a newer application that’s still being refined. The team is highly responsive—both support and development—which makes it easy to use, even with heavy usage across our team.

This is my first FP&A platform, so I still had a bit of a learning curve getting started.

It not only helps me learn and improve, but also lets me quickly spot even the smallest mistakes in my ERP system. I also really like that it makes it easier to communicate with management through reports, which ultimately saves a lot of time.

It's a solid tool to consolidate FP&A activities and a central hub for the company to access live data. The reports are easy to build. Metrics and dimensions are intuitive. The UI is not overwhelming. Implementation was timely. We use it daily.

There is a learning curve to the logic and formula syntax of the system. AI feature isn't as useful as expected and I currently have no practical application of it aside from the formula builder AI in data transformations. Report building isn't as flexible as I'd like.

From sales to proof of concept and through implementation, the folks at Drivetrain provided outstanding support and education. It was one of the best implementations I've experienced with any vendor. I was also impressed by how quickly we were able to start generating valuable financial reporting in a far more digestible & customizable format than QuickBooks offers us. The depth under the hood here is impressive, and the visualizations and UI are leagues above the other tools we researched.

The product is evolving quickly (in a good way), so prepare to be continuously learning to get the most out of it. Folks coming from Excel may encounter a learning curve with the modeling interface, and while you can absolutely keep using Excel with their data importing features, I highly recommend building natively in the platform to take full advantage of it.

We use QuickBooks and were handling our forecasting activites with a series of connected Google Sheets. The moment I saw Drivetrain, I knew it was exactly what I needed to help align data structures, combine data to get combined KPIs from disparate sources, get beyond cell count/row limits in google sheets and excel.  The team is second to none in their responsiveness, the velocity of new updates and features, their ability to take feedback and have it in product in a matter of weeks is truly impressive.  Implementation was quite easy, well supported, and the ongoing support has been extremely helpful and valuable.  Integrations and connections are straight forward and most are a few clicks away from ingesting the data.  I use the tool on a daily basis and it has been very helpful to get Hubspot, QBO, sheets, excel data all under one roof.  The DT team is very collaborative to help find creative solutions in getting to the desired end result.  Modeling with comparisons of actuals to plan with seamless historical + forecasted results are truly impressive.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

The positives outweigh the negatives by a mile.  The negatives usually come because I want to use the tool for things it wasn't intended for initially like sharing information to external parties.  There are a few nits that are getting fixed around filtering and field names vs underlying field IDs. It would be nice to have more direct ability to push visuals into google slides to update visualization.  But overall really happy with the tool.

My overall experience with Drivetrain has been great. The tool is extremely easy to use and very intuitive. Producing new reports is seamless and user friendly. The implementation took ~ 3 months and was quite smooth. The DT implementation team made sure that the platform was up and running in time for our planning cycle. Additionally, Rohit who lead the implementation, has been incredibly responsive, collaborative, and made sure that the tool met our needs. We're now using Drivetrain daily and look forward further driving adoption of the tool across our company.

I have used several FP&A platforms and Drivetrain is the best I've used because we can model at a very granular level (vendor, department, etc.) without much effort and create  digestible reporting outputs.  Models actualize with accounting actuals ase with a click of a button.  The ability to connect multiple data sources is very helpful as we leverage other department data to drive certain aspects of the financial model and monitor business KPIs.  Reporting is very clean and the ability to create and distribute dynamic dashboards has been impactful for our team. Creating different access levels is a breeze.  This is the first platform I've used where I've felt comfortable getting rid of the "backup" excel model.

Nothing significant, few things could make navigation even easier but Drivetrain team listens to feedback and pushes regular, thougthful updates.

Sometimes I wish Drivetrain had everything already created and our data was dropped into it, rather than us continously refining and building out the product for new reporting methods that we felt were missing.

I really appreciate how Drivetrain helps us in simplifying the financial reporting tasks and making it easier to generate accurate customized reports efficiently. It smoothly integrated with our accounting softwares and gives accurate numbers. The software is very simple in design and very seamless to implement with not much complications required here. And the onboarding team led by Paaras deserves praise as they helped us with establishing the intial reports without any troubles. Overall, it significantly streamlines our workload, saving time and reducing errors.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

One downside is that it is time-consuming to clean our internal data to ensure accurate reports. While the software streamlines many tasks, this initial data cleaning step can be time consuming and delay our reporting process. But this is something that cannot be avoided.

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The software helps solve many issues currently that we have in our finance operations. Firstly, it helps in generating financial reports, which previously required a ton of manual intervention with data collection and then applying the data analysis to it. This automation provided by Drivetrain not only saves us time but also reduces the errors in our reports as it is automated.

Secondly, the software has a forecasting capability to provide us with valuable insights into future financial trends and potential risks which is a major plus for us. By having these reports, we can take informed decisions, ultimately improving our financial performance.

Overall, the software's ability to automate reports and provide insightful forecasts is benefiting us by enhancing efficiency, reducing the errors, and enabling more informed decision-making in our finance operations.

**What do you like best about Drivetrain?**

-Drivetrain can connect to all my upstream datasources to build the sort of real-time reporting I need. 
-Everything you can do in Excel, you can do better in Drivetrain (and then some). 
-It uses a similar cell-based structure and formula language so the transition is seamless. 
-You can set up your "remembered" metrics (i.e. ARR, CAC, Burn, etc.), feed them into your models, and then build reports ontop of your model(s) to expose results and forecasts to various audiences at your company.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

The data transforms aren't self-service (yet...I know they're working on this). I rely on a dedicated support rep to create joins and other transforms across datasets to produce the key datatables I need for my reporting. Once this is done, it will be fully self-service end-to-end and extremely powerful

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We moved all of our excel-based modeling into Drivetrain, which handles everything in a much more transparent and controlled way (assumptions, metrics/KPIs, forecasts, etc.). It also is the only place we've been able to produce consolidated financials (our ERP isn't able to do it yet) outside of excel, so we are able to have a consolidated view of our business in real-time, including historicals and forecasts.

Easy to navigate and a very flexible FP&A platform. Iwas a power user / admin of an AdaptiveInsight instance and when transitioning to using Drivetrain, I found the transparency behind model logic, the similarity to excel, the ability to import any data structure into the platform, and the the structure of the model really ease to use the biggest highlights for this tool. 

At first, the modeling logic at first seemed daughting to learn, but after spending a day learning about how to build models, it was easy to recreate complex financial models into the platform ranging from a hardware BOM cost model, cohort modeling for forecasting, ARR modeling, and opex driver based models. 

The platform is very flexible and allows you to slice and dice data within the platform with ease. This allows me to adjust the model at fly quickly.

**What do you dislike about Drivetrain?**

Creating new data sets and mapping the data to new "lists" or mapping groups still requires someone on the backend in Drivetrain to link the data up. This means when building new models or data sets, you have to currently rely on your CS rep to help build the linkage. 

They've mentioned this is a commonly requested feature and I hope they build this functionality out since it'll allow power users to build models quicker from new data sets

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Automation of operating reporting, ability to navigate messy data, streamlining ARR reporting, ability to recreate excel models, data consolidation from different data sources and file times, automating headcount modeling

- Reporting: Drivetrain has allowed us to automate a majority of our financial reporting, from board decks, monthly closes, flux analyses, BvAs out to budget owners, etc. It has already saved us significant time, only a handful of month after beginning the implementation process.

- Powerful & Flexible Forecasting Capabilities: Drivetrain has very flexible forecasting models that allowed us to build our entire forecast, from top-line, expenses, balance sheet & cash and all be interconnected with eachother & our other systems. The formula writing is intuitive and has a short learning curve when transitioning from excel.

- Implementation: The implementation team has exceptional expertise and provides fantastic customer support. The implementation was smooth and we were up and running with all of our finanical models, custom dashboards and reports in a few months. The team was always available and great to work with.

- Integration:We were able to integrate seamlessly with our key systems, Salesforce, NetSuite & GSheets. This integration streamlines our financial processes and ensures that data flows smoothly between different systems.

- Collaboration: As a Finance team member I wanted a tool that serves all of my forecasting & reporting needs, but also wanted something that would allow for cross-functional collaboration. Drivetrain's reports are perfect for this with features like tagging people in comments, user level restrictions, customizable & visually appealing graphs, charts & tables.

- User-Friendly Interface: One of the standout features of Drivetrain is its intuitive interface. It's incredibly user-friendly, making it easy for both finance professionals and non-finance stakeholders to navigate.

I have yet to encounter any issues with the platform that the customer success team hasn't taken back to their team and included in their next round of product updates.

**What problems is Drivetrain solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Drivetrain is automating our financial forecasting, reporting & KPI tracking. These three items have been a massive time-saver for us already as they use to involve a lot of manual effort and are now updating in real-time. Drivetrain is also consolidating data from multiple different sources to provide non-finance stakeholders a one-stop shop for getting the information they need. We are also using it for headcount management with hiring plans being available to the approriate hiring managers within the platform.
