DraftSight is a simple and solid solution to completely replace AutoCAD. It saved my life when I needed to translate a few AutoCAD drawings but didn't wanted to buy AutoCAD for that purpose. So I can say for sure that DraftSight is especially useful for specialists like me working on the text content part of the drawings. A few years ago I experienced some problems with Cyrillic fonts. Also, editing some hidden text blocks was a pain. But these minor problems were solved quickly enough — in the later releases of Draftsight, so I don't think it's a problem to be mentioned. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

that the previous versions were free and now this latest version of this year 2019 must be paid, they must leave the previous versions free at least without the latest updates so that any type of person can have access to this software. LISP FILES! I have the Pro version of Draftsight and have been able to install all my old AutoLISP files (many of which I wrote in the early 1990s) which greatly speed up my use of the drafting interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I see a lot of hang-ups -- brief instances where it stops, then continues -- when using the software. I run it on a fairly high end PC, so the issue is the software not the computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What I like most about the software is that it is a design tool similar to AutoCAD since the same commands can be used. The advantage of this tool is that it is free, which broadens the possibilities of taking the application almost anywhere.
