I haven't contacted support a lot, but when I did, they almost never solved my problems even though their product was to blame. My main issue with this product was that there is no useful resilience built in, so when the network connection was bad between the client and the server the component started to throw different types of seemingly unrelated exceptions. To be fair there is a way to capture connection errors, but only about 30-50% gets caught (and handled) this way. The rest of these exceptions include InvalidOperationException and IndexOutOfRangeException with stack traces that are absolutely useless, containing method names of a single letter only. They probably do this to combat reverse engineering but it also makes debugging my application with their product very hard. Because of their reluctance of fixing bugs (or at least help me work around it) and because ADO.NET is already obsolete I decided not to pay for their support anymore after almost 10 years.
