## About Dispel

The Dispel team has done an amazing job of being proactive and doing their due diligence to identify the challenges and pain points that an organization has with securely providing remote access to their employees and third parties.

The product is simple to use, while still providing a robust security architecture to ensure/validate that only authorized users are connecting.

The product has granular RBAC features that provide enhanced management capabilities.

The customer support provided was the best that anyone could ask for.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

We did not experience any downsides while using this product.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dispel solves the problem of being able to securely provide remote access to critical internal resources.

  ### 2. Dispel is secure, easy to deploy and use.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Juliano G. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Dispel prioritizes security above all else. With its built-in multi-factor authentication (MFA) and approval workflow capabilities, the product ensures a highly secure environment. Not only is it easy to deploy and administer, but also convenient for onboarding OEMs. The user experience is seamless, making it effortless to navigate and utilize the product's features.
In addition to its exceptional features, Dispel offers an outstanding after-sales service. The company goes above and beyond to provide a great customer experience. They demonstrate flexibility and act as true partners, attentively listening to their customers' needs and consistently enhancing the product based on valuable feedback. Their commitment to continuous improvement ensures that customers receive the best possible service.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

I don't have any remarks about the product. It really works the way we want and need it.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Centralized secure remote access for all OEMs where we can manage everything out of a single Dashboard in the cloud, no overhead to manage the wicket and we can also record everything - which helps with audit requirements as well.

  ### 3. More likely a friend than a colleague, as we're an SME and our staff are familiar with Dispel

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Julian S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

A lot of the complexity for delivering Secure Remote Access is taken away, due to the problem which Dispel addresses (complexity and too many stakeholders)! I also like the Dispel team and the fact that they will go the extra mile to work with us and end customers to engineer integrations, to help with those customer issues that bother them the most (not always technical).

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

Okay, we are a partner but this issue also affects product champions and influencers within the businesses we deal with. It's not an easy sell! Customers have to be quite technical to 'get it', and also the licensing model is tricky for the type of customers we have. Neither of which are anything to do with the Dispel solution, but more to do with the maturity and technical level of our customers.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Dispel solves the Secure Remote Access conundrum, where all the moving parts need to be aligned in order for; security policies to be worth the paper they are written on / the organisations security posture is sufficient for the level of risk they face. The benefit for us is that we can potentially sell it as; a part of a wider turn-key solution, or a product in its own right.

  ### 4. Ultra slick and ultra secure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

I really like the ease of use from both the administrator interface and the remote user interface. The solution has allowed greater remote management of our current IT infrastructure across multiple environments, helped reduce costs from how we did things in the past, increased our security when working with external vendors, offered extra benefits with being able to record user sessions, reliable quick support by the Dispel team and if needed we now have a solution that can be upscaled quickly.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

As a solution its great. I don’t have any direct dislikes but if there was anything I might change it would be to enhance the graphics a little within the admin console.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are much quicker in responding to business needs when working with 3rd party companies remotely. We can control and turn around access requests in double quick time now.

  ### 5. Seamless experience connecting to the Servers remotely

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitesh K. | IT Manager Manufacturing, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Recording Functionality for every action done by the support personnel. Particularly helpful in providing access to Users who do not have company-specific email addresses.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

Initiating the remote connection did not work for me a few times, so I had to get in touch with Dispel support to resolve it.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remote connectivity to the servers, particularly for support personnel who do not have the company credentials to log in otherwise.

  ### 6. Easy to use remote access system for OT Assets

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shashank P. | Senior IT Manager, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

third-parties who need access to industrial control systems can be effectively controlled and monitored.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

There is no session mirror while third party has access to OT system.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Controlled access using micro-segmentation. Vendors can be restricted on which system they access on the network.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Hey Shashank, I wanted to let you know that Dispel now offers session mirroring (joint sessions) during a third-party remote session. You can get a full list of the newest features in the resource URL, and our support team can give you a full walkthrough of the capability whenever you want.

  ### 7. Fast implementation, great US-based support, worked best out of the competitors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Responsive, US-based support team. Pilot implementation was painless and it was easy to demonstrate value to management. Security standards are better than the others we looked at, and NIST CSF-compliance was a major plus.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

We like pretty much everything. They're adding new integrations, but more custom ones take about a week to get during onboarding. The ones we needed, they had already (AD, Yubikey) and their team built out the others we needed quickly by the end of the pilot. But check with their team in advance if you have something esoteric. The Dispel team was pretty flexible.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed to control third-party and our own operator access to our SCADA systems. Dispel is a lot faster than our old system (VPN to jump host to RDP), and they're meeting all the security controls the IT department set out. We're able to offset the cost of Dispel through the increased efficiency we got from their platform.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Thank you! Integrations are an area we're putting a lot of resources into. We've recently added new ones in the last few months as our dev team keeps adding partners, and we're prioritizing based on customer feedback.

  ### 8. Excellent Product - Does exactly what we need without to much overhead

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Chemicals | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 08, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

The product is extremely easy to use. Dispel team are always available to help

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

At the moment not much maybe the opportunity to customise. Would like to add the company logo if possible as an example.

**Recommendations to others considering Dispel:**

If you have a lot of 3rd parties using your systems, this product will give you peace of mind knowing your can review what they have been doing.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We work with many different vendors and third parties. Dispel allow us to quickly and easily give them secure access to our systems.

  ### 9. Great product, great company

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jacob C. | Solutions Architect - BD & Alliances, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Dispel's platform is technically sophisticated and novel, yet prioritizes simplicity for deployment and users. It is also backed by a fantastic team to work with.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

There is not much to dislike. The solution has all the core features I'd look for in a secure remote access solution and I'm looking forward to the developments they have in the works.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have worked with Dispel as a partner, both while working at a systems integration company and using their platform as part of a larger solution, and now at a cybersecurity software company where we deliver joint value to customers. Their platform provides scalable, very secure and very simple-to-use remote access for all environments.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Thank you for the kind words! I'll make sure the team knows. If you ever have feedback on things that could be improved for the platform, we'd love to hear about it. You can drop us a line here, or at support@dispel.io

  ### 10. Secure connectivity for factory applications

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Security for factory applications (OT framework) with 2FA. With increasing cyberattacks on organisations and manufacturing being one of area of vulnerability, having secure external connectivity to systems is of utmost importance.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

Setting the infrastructure up and maintaining individual user accounts from vendors.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Suppliers having secure connection to factory systems is one key benefit.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Vendor user and asset management: those are great feature requests! Managing vendor users is especially difficult when they've got turnover and you have to make the change on your side. I've put both features into the queue for the design and engineering teams and I'll put an update here when we roll them out.

  ### 11. Easy, Fast, Secure - Delivered what I needed in custom environment

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Fast onboarding process. Easy connectivity for multiple users. Ability to stand up/down additional resources on demand. Dispel was able to customize virtual desktops for my training use case.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

Not applicable, they've been wonderful to work with. Some on the internal security team also wanted them to get a SOC 2 audit, which I think they've completed at this point.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Building custom virtual desktop instances that internal teams used to train customers on how to configure our software across Windows and Windows SQL environments.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Audit and compliance are one of our strong suits. We are indeed going through a SOC 2 Type 2 audit, in addition to ISO 27001. If you or the team ever have questions about our security compliance program, you can reach out to the team at security@dispel.io and check out our security site too.

  ### 12. Easy to use and great support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Oil & Energy | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

simple to implement and excellent support

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

haven't found any yet, solution works as advertised

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

secure remote access to drilling platforms, a requirement for both customers and regulators. easy to implement.

  ### 13. The solution we had been looking for.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2022

**What do you like best about Dispel?**

Simple deployment and great customer support. Fast and reactive to any issues we encountered but the solution does a good job of taking care of itself.

**What do you dislike about Dispel?**

Its' a new product and developing rapidly. Great user experience but does require some investment in how to utlize it.

**Recommendations to others considering Dispel:**

If you are looking for a robust product for accessing OT assets security and reliability this is it.

**What problems is Dispel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Quickly deploying hardware instead of engineers. We can use it to provide support to our clients, sometimes multiple sites/clients in a day with fewer staff.

**Official Response from Ethan Schmertzler:**

> Great feedback. If you haven't already, check out the new Dashboard if you were previously on Console. We significantly upgraded the whole user process with our new release. User tasks now take less time and there's more customization possible. Should make utilization easier. The design and ops teams meet weekly to prioritize customer feedback--if there's something you believe can be improved email us a support@dispel.io so we can add it to the feature list.
