Using DISCO allows me to go in and ingest documents or run productions the same day. They have a team that can help with the larger projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the features for exports and admin functionality are lacking compared to other review platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Disco provides attorneys with speed and flexibility to review documents, whether working with a team spread around the country or with one or two attorneys working through documents. Disco's speed is unmatched and the ability to easily add new tags and issue codes and the intuitive search and filtering of large datasets of documents can be incredibly useful. I often run into duplicate documents, not sure if this is something I am doing or not doing or what but it seems like in 2021 this should nt be happening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to upload your documents directly into the review tool is so helpful, especially in time-sensitive cases. If there is a particularly difficult upload, the people on staff are ready and willing to jump on it and help you out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't really have a downside, I really enjoy the review tool itself and the service is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Disco is intuitive, allows for granular permission levels (for users and documents), and breaks the tether from in-house applications. The development team listens to feature requests and is quick to implement enhancements. If technical issues arise (which is not often), the support crew is highly responsive, issues are typically resolved within 24 hours. Disco eases the burden of Discovery thanks to its functionality and ease of use. Our users give it rave reviews! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some features we miss from our old application, but we have made requests from the development team and they are working on them. Honestly, there's really nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have loved the DISCO experience. Primarily, it's a quick and responsive database that's scalable to handle large document review projects while also providing the functionality to address individual document issues. Also, the variety of search options and parameters on DISCO is beneficial -- even if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, DISCO makes it easy to search for the documents that you need. OCR documents is good, as well as the heatmap function that shows you documents over a set timeframe. I've found this particularly helpful when looking at email negotiations, to track the frequency of emails between opposing parties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with anything, there's a bit of learning curve with how to use DISCO efficiently. Sometimes, the OCR doesn't catch all of the readable text, making reviewing documents with lots of artifacts difficult. This can be compounded when the documents are long (100+ pages), necessitating manual review even after the OCR process. Also, there are instances where Bates stamps on documents from opposing counsel won't register without a loadfile, making it difficult to search by Bates number.
However, none of these downsides negate the fact that DISCO is an incredibly useful and effieicent tool when used properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Disco is the marriage of all the best things of Relativity, Catalyst, and Concordance. The ability to build searches and search just like you would Google makes this platform my favorite. Say goodbye to trying to remember the syntax because! I also love that Disco makes it easy to create review stages with so much control over assigning batches for individuals to review. I am able to track the daily progress of my teams and update the client with completion dates based on the visualization reports. The customization of tags within the review stage is super helpful. I wish the batch print downloads had a feature to export with the Bates number versus the document id. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Disco's professional service team is very responsive and provides excellent assistance with load file ingests. I have submitted challenging productions for review, and the professional services team has almost always been able to get the documents uploaded within 24 hours. When this was not the case, a DISCO representative attended a meeting with my IT team and the client's IT team to troubleshoot the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The search by filename function is challenging to use effectively. Currently, when I search for documents by filename, I only get results that match that filename exactly. There should be a "fuzzy" filename search function that allows users to view all files with a similar name. I also wish that there was a way to batch print native Excel sheets and still have them stamped with their Bates number. Currently, a batch print of multiple Excel sheets results in a PDF full of slip sheets and separate Excel files with their original names intact (as opposed to the Bates number). This makes it difficult to keep track of documents after they've been downloaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The intuitive platform, how many filters have recently been added for documents, and the ease of ingesting files to the software. The relevance filter does a good job of, before I even start reviewing, sorting the most important documents on top. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the issues I sometimes have with load files, as well as the high cost and challenging problem of billing out these costs to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use; ability to use multiple browser tabs at the same time; self-ingest and production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting logged out after non-use for a few hours. Costs are high and could be reduced across the board. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how easy it is to create targeted searches and run productions in the Disco database. I am able to build very specific searches throughout thousands of documents and save them to use later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be great if Disco could produce redacted excel spreadsheets in native format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
