What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

Some of the features for exports and admin functionality are lacking compared to other review platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

Everything doesn't need to be in an extensive review platform. When cases grow, DISCO can handle the increased size of data and features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ward of DISCO eDiscovery

I really loved reading about how you are enjoying the control DISCO gives you and how DISCO Ediscovery enables you to ingest and run productions on the same day. I passed along your positive feedback regarding the assistance you received for larger projects to our support and services teams. They were so happy reading about your satisfaction with their services. Thank you for taking the time to share that with us.

Thank you for the feedback about the improvements you’d like to see in the platform - that really helps us. If you have any additional details you’d like to share about what kinds of changes you would like to see to DISCO Ediscovery’s exports and admin functionality, please feel free to share them with me at ward@csdisco.com and I can get them to our product development team. I hope you continue to experience success and thank you again for taking the time to write such a splendid review! Gratefully, your DISCO team.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Disco provides attorneys with speed and flexibility to review documents, whether working with a team spread around the country or with one or two attorneys working through documents. Disco's speed is unmatched and the ability to easily add new tags and issue codes and the intuitive search and filtering of large datasets of documents can be incredibly useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

I often run into duplicate documents, not sure if this is something I am doing or not doing or what but it seems like in 2021 this should nt be happening. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

Nothing glamorous to report here, its just about getting documents reviewed and organized so that we can move a case, take depositions, and hopefully prevail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Being able to upload your documents directly into the review tool is so helpful, especially in time-sensitive cases. If there is a particularly difficult upload, the people on staff are ready and willing to jump on it and help you out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

I don't really have a downside, I really enjoy the review tool itself and the service is excellent. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

DISCO helps solve having a go-to easy-to-use tool for cases of all sizes. It is particularly good for smaller cases that aren't document intensive. My L&E practice benefits greatly from the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Disco is intuitive, allows for granular permission levels (for users and documents), and breaks the tether from in-house applications. The development team listens to feature requests and is quick to implement enhancements. If technical issues arise (which is not often), the support crew is highly responsive, issues are typically resolved within 24 hours. Disco eases the burden of Discovery thanks to its functionality and ease of use. Our users give it rave reviews! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

There are some features we miss from our old application, but we have made requests from the development team and they are working on them. Honestly, there's really nothing to dislike. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

With our in-house application, we were bound by technology and unable scale-up quickly when large volumes of datasets came in the door. It also required a great deal of administration time and technical support. Disco eases the support burden and allows our team to provide more assistance to our reviewers creating effective work flows and review strategies. It also allows for more enterprise monitoring and reporting. The fact that it has native Excel redactions, and limits review to inclusive emails and attachments has been a game-changer! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Caitlin Ward of DISCO eDiscovery

Karen,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. I'm so glad DISCO has been valuable to your practice by providing the ability to redact Excel files natively and limit your reviews to only inclusive emails. Even more, we love to hear that Disco eases the burden of discovery for you and your team.

We cannot thank you enough for all of this feedback - it helps us continue to improve and make our product exactly what our users want. If you have any additional feature requests, you can email me directly and I can get them submitted on your behalf at ward@csdisco.com Thank you! Gratefully, your DISCO team

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

I have loved the DISCO experience. Primarily, it's a quick and responsive database that's scalable to handle large document review projects while also providing the functionality to address individual document issues. Also, the variety of search options and parameters on DISCO is beneficial -- even if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, DISCO makes it easy to search for the documents that you need. OCR documents is good, as well as the heatmap function that shows you documents over a set timeframe. I've found this particularly helpful when looking at email negotiations, to track the frequency of emails between opposing parties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

As with anything, there's a bit of learning curve with how to use DISCO efficiently. Sometimes, the OCR doesn't catch all of the readable text, making reviewing documents with lots of artifacts difficult. This can be compounded when the documents are long (100+ pages), necessitating manual review even after the OCR process. Also, there are instances where Bates stamps on documents from opposing counsel won't register without a loadfile, making it difficult to search by Bates number.

However, none of these downsides negate the fact that DISCO is an incredibly useful and effieicent tool when used properly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Disco for evidence management at scale, and for generating insights into batches of documents / putting together timelines. Disco is useful for these situations because I can quickly identify "hot docs" based on certain key factors, which helps with the analysis portion of casework. What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Disco is the marriage of all the best things of Relativity, Catalyst, and Concordance. The ability to build searches and search just like you would Google makes this platform my favorite. Say goodbye to trying to remember the syntax because! I also love that Disco makes it easy to create review stages with so much control over assigning batches for individuals to review. I am able to track the daily progress of my teams and update the client with completion dates based on the visualization reports. The customization of tags within the review stage is super helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

I wish the batch print downloads had a feature to export with the Bates number versus the document id. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

I haven't had problems with Disco. The expert reports have been key in verifying the accuracy of privilege reviews. This also helps me with the exhibit list preparation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Disco's professional service team is very responsive and provides excellent assistance with load file ingests. I have submitted challenging productions for review, and the professional services team has almost always been able to get the documents uploaded within 24 hours. When this was not the case, a DISCO representative attended a meeting with my IT team and the client's IT team to troubleshoot the issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

The search by filename function is challenging to use effectively. Currently, when I search for documents by filename, I only get results that match that filename exactly. There should be a "fuzzy" filename search function that allows users to view all files with a similar name. I also wish that there was a way to batch print native Excel sheets and still have them stamped with their Bates number. Currently, a batch print of multiple Excel sheets results in a PDF full of slip sheets and separate Excel files with their original names intact (as opposed to the Bates number). This makes it difficult to keep track of documents after they've been downloaded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

DISCO's services streamline document review and production. Sorting through thousands of documents is much easier with DISCO's help as its advanced search function allows us to quickly find relevant documents. The tagging function also allows for quick organization of the documents. I especially appreciate the mass tag and untag options. Privilege review is a much less painful process with DISCO. What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

The intuitive platform, how many filters have recently been added for documents, and the ease of ingesting files to the software. The relevance filter does a good job of, before I even start reviewing, sorting the most important documents on top. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

I dislike the issues I sometimes have with load files, as well as the high cost and challenging problem of billing out these costs to clients. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DISCO eDiscovery:

If you can afford it, use professional Disco services for uploads. For example, I have worked back and forth on load files with our account manager and while it saves us money, it costs a lot of time. Professional services does quality work, but is expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are solving the problem of quickly, easily, and efficiently managing all of our documents. The most major benefits have been producing documents to defendants in our cases, as well as finding great, "hot" documents quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

Ease of use; ability to use multiple browser tabs at the same time; self-ingest and production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

Getting logged out after non-use for a few hours. Costs are high and could be reduced across the board. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DISCO eDiscovery:

Don't look elsewhere. This is the best platform for data review. Full stop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

I am a litigator so this product is designed for my profession. It enables a much smaller team of reviewers to review a larger data set. I have saved a ton of time by reviewing the pertinent documents without having to use relativity. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about DISCO eDiscovery?

I like how easy it is to create targeted searches and run productions in the Disco database. I am able to build very specific searches throughout thousands of documents and save them to use later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DISCO eDiscovery?

It would be great if Disco could produce redacted excel spreadsheets in native format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering DISCO eDiscovery:

Disco is an excellent database for document management and revisions before production. If you need assistance, Disco offers a help center that is useful to self troubleshoot. Disco also has customer service representatives that can help further with more complex issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is DISCO eDiscovery solving and how is that benefiting you?

Disco helps organize my case documents in a central location and manages them for specific uses. I appreciate the deduplication during ingestion, and feature that shows similiarity percentages with other documents within the database. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
