The UI is clean and intuitive. Deployment options like API access and web app generation are convenient, and the self-hosted version gives good flexibility for internal use cases. **What do you dislike about Dify.AI?** - There’s no way to pass hidden input variables to workflows at chat start — they’re always visible to the user, which breaks many personalization or routing use cases. - Variable size limits in the Cloud version are unreasonably low. Even small JSON objects exceed the allowed length, making it unusable for real AI workflows. - No support for basic operations like in or includes to check whether a variable exists in a list. You’re forced to use awkward workarounds or abandon logic entirely. - Support is non-responsive. Even on a paid plan with “priority email support,” we received only generic replies like “read the docs” or “we don’t provide implementation help.” This isn’t acceptable at $59/month. - Most of our interactions with support (Jerome Yuan and Xinyang Zhang) ended with “this is not supported,” even for very basic questions. No workaround, no roadmap. **What problems is Dify.AI solving and how is that benefiting you?** Dify.AI aims to simplify the process of building LLM-based applications and workflows without writing full backend code. It provides a visual interface to orchestrate AI prompts, conditionals, HTTP calls, and chat interfaces - which in theory should save time and reduce complexity when integrating AI into business tools. We initially planned to use Dify to power dynamic candidate screening and classification flows in our recruiting platform. The idea was to combine structured data (like job titles and locations) with LLM-based reasoning - routing users through an intelligent flow based on predefined parameters. However, due to limitations like low variable size limits, lack of hidden variable injection, and missing core logic features, we weren’t able to realize those benefits in the cloud version. We eventually moved to self-hosted but still found ourselves constrained. So while the intended problem Dify solves is valuable, in practice we didn’t receive the expected benefits - at least not in its current state. ### 2.
