Maybe it was a coincidence but shortly after Dext took over ReceiptBank my iMac crashed twice: the first time it happened I was uploading a receipt to Dext using Chrome. It went into a vicious cycle of opening up Dext pages in new tabs. I was not able to force exit Chrome and I had to crash my computer. It was fine after a restart. It happened again a few days later, but this time it was in the middle of the night, so I wasn't even doing anything with Dext, but upon restart I could see it was the same cause. I love the fact that the auto-publish function is accurate. It is excellent that the bank connect and double invoice functionality is available. This is how Receiptbook would notify me whether an invoice is in Xero is already present and allow me to make an edit without re-entering the information over and over. Dext has been quite innovative and constantly improving on the functionalities of the app. Nothing much to complain about! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Each user can have their own email-in address, the software reads the receipts by itself to make entry very quick, items sync into accounting systems even after the transaction has been reconciled, and there's a report that shows missing receipts for transactions in the accounting system. There are also integrations into other systems to reimburse expenses to employees with the ability to create expenses reports. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes connections are pending for days

Sometimes there are sporadic technical difficulties with connections

It triggers password resets which in turn affects my auto fulfillment process and metrics

It often does not pull all the invoices from a website even though it checks for invoices

It often does not check at all when it should

At the end of the month, you spend a lot of time investigating the connections and downloading invoices manually.

The most frustrating part is that support doesn't help. You constantly have to follow up, often speaking to a different support person who is not familiar and you end up giving up.

In the end, I requested a meeting to work through the connection issues to which I was told they are booked out until the 12th of April at the earliest. (requested on the 31st march). 7 days have passed since I responded and have yet to receive an invite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

By far the best part is its accuracy in filling out the fields automatically. It can detect accurate details from receipts from gas station to restaurant to business invoices. After much double-checking, I don't have to verify the details unless the picture is very blurry or poor quality.

The second big point in integrations with QB and Xero. Allows pushing transaction directly there. Then, the mobile app to snap and add is a great feature for clients. Separate tabs for sales, costs and banks are a great plus when working with a variety of data.

Finally, on rare occasions we had to use their support, it's helpful and easy to reach Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Keyboard shortcuts could be better. Current ones are unintuitive for me personally. At least an ability to remap would be a huge plus.

You can't assign expenses to Quickbook projects, something that I wish to be added in future.
