It supports most of major database servers, including Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, Oracle, DB2, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, InterBase, and Firebird. All your database clients as well as Microsoft Access will connect directly to mysql databases with this driver. Just create an ODBC connection and use it from your applications. Driver is working fine and did not cause any problem till now. **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** I did not manage to install the driver without Administrator Rights even if it seemed to be possible. Maybe it is a Windows 10 issue, because with previous versions I do not remember having same problem. **Recommendations to others considering dotConnect Universal:** If you are working with Mysql database, you will need it. **What problems is dotConnect Universal solving and how is that benefiting you?** In my last task related with mysql, we build a simple mysql database, and needed the driver in order to link the database from a Microsoft Access file, in order to have entry forms in question of minutes. **Official Response from Jordan Sanders:** > Thanks a lot. When you have to upload a list of leads it is quite practical because we can put the load with sql instructions **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** You have to have a strong knowledge of sql, additional you must know the tables and their relationships to be able to perform the queries, insert, update in a more effective way. The response times once you create the sql statement and execute it are a bit high, the tool is very often does not have many options like statistics, connection log. **What problems is dotConnect Universal solving and how is that benefiting you?** This tool is mainly used for massive loads, since the SugarCRM already allows us to perform updates and delete some records, when we want to see all the fields of a table we also use the tool. **Official Response from Jordan Sanders:** > We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience! The software is very easy to utilize when tying to another SQL server like TOAD Data point, Microsoft SQL, etc. The best part of the software is the sharing feature. Allowing others using dotConnect to work within the workspace. **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** Very slow, multiple lagging moments. Software could use a revamp. The overall look of the software is where the revamp would be needed. The display is sort of out-of-date. Another additional remark I would make is try to simply the software. Someone new to dotConnect would have a very hard time getting started. **What problems is dotConnect Universal solving and how is that benefiting you?** Learning Analytics. We are analyzing the effectiveness of learning in our organization to report up to leadership to show the business impact. We use dotConnect to connect to multiple SQL databases to pull and analyze data. Entity Framework was more upto date and uasable. Speed was better than some open source drivers. **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** EF support and other cutting edge features were tend to lag. It is easy to use and user friendly. There is fast data loading, letting you get to the things you need to work on quicker. There is also unified data access to the different types of databases. **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** The program does take some time to learn. If you aren’t familiar with databases and database networks, this program wouldn't be as beneficial to you. **Recommendations to others considering dotConnect Universal:** Choose this program for your business as its fairly inexpensive and it’s user-friendly. **What problems is dotConnect Universal solving and how is that benefiting you?** It’s a database connectivity program, so it helps a user to quickly connect to a given database. The most recent use of this ODBC connector was with a label designer NiceLabel. The setup process was very simple and now I have the ability to live print labels using information being pulled directly from NetSuite. **What do you dislike about dotConnect Universal?** Very slow on NiceLabels end, I don't know if that is the actual ODBC driver of if the application is slow. **Recommendations to others considering dotConnect Universal:** Take advantage of it! **What problems is dotConnect Universal solving and how is that benefiting you?** Being able to live print data from NetSuite and saving time by eliminating the need to download information from NetSuite. **Official Response from Jordan Sanders:** > Thank you.
