## DesignCrowd Reviews
  ### 1. Awful experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Health, Wellness and Fitness | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2024

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

They have not been useful in resolving this

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

Unusable designs, for ridiculous prices.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

Use something else

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had intended to refresh some of our imaging using DesignCrowd, and with any luck connect with some designers for future projects. Instead the quality is so poor, it is entirely unusable. I have requested a refund only to be informed 1/3 of the fee is a "posting fee" and so not refundable.

Do not use this service.

  ### 2. Paid for stolen logo. Huge waste of time, money, and energy.

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sydney H.

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

I thought it was great at the time until I was alerted that the winning design was stolen.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

Poor customer service. Never got compensation for time lost or promotional materials ordered that I cannot use.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I had high hopes for a unique and original design for my project, but what I received was far from it. The designer's work turned out to be copied from another existing logo, and in violation of their User Agreement. This not only negatively impacted my project but also raised serious questions about their quality control and vetting process for designers.

While I appreciate that they deactivated the designer's account and processed a refund for the payment I made, a refund does not compensate for the time, energy, and money I invested in products ordered based on that design. It was a huge waste of resources.

Once I received the logo, I promptly ordered new promotional materials and passed it on to my developer. So I'm out the money on that as well. Cannot stress enough how disappointed I am.

  ### 3. Easy to use terrible design quality

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 26, 2022

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Ease of set up and use. Customer service was responsive.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

The quality of the work and creativity of the designs was poor

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

Do not use the low end entry package, you will get nothing of value. Spend more and get the money back alternative

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking for some basic design help for an online ad. The designs I received were of poor quality. Free clip art would have been better

  ### 4. fake gurantee

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael C. | Managing Director, Market Research, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Optionality and inputs from different designers is a valuable idea but you don't get this unless you buy the more expensive packages.

Not worth it.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I have used DesignCrowd multiple times for logo designs but will never use them again.

I hate their process. I had only 1 designer working on my logo, who it's important to note I couldn't pick, DesignCrowd automatically picked him.

He was based in Venezuela and worked slowly all the while, DesignCrowd had me on a deadline timer that was running out fast.

I did not like the logos and to spare the designer trouble, I asked DesignCrowd to cancel the project and refund my money as they proudly proclaim to do.

Due to their small print on a separate page, they were only refunding me part of my money and they were keeping 1/3 of it.

What a waste of time, I'll gladly refer and use a competing service instead.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

Contact designers locally or directly via LinkedIn/Google/Indeed.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was creating logos for multiple businesses that I am apart of.

  ### 5. Highly recommended for a startup

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Akshay N. | Founding Partner(Technology), Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

we have used design crowd for many projects with great results. The website offers a large pool of freelancer designers which helped us in getting custom designs in our defined budget. This site is very useful if you are particular in what you want.

would definitely recommend the site to any entrepreneur looking for assistance with their logo designs and other services.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

we have had some communication problems with designers but the DC team ensure that this issue is fixed.
Also had to go back and forth since we were new in business but the designer did a good job and explained it well

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

The DC team is quite helpful and the freelancers working with DC are very professional. You can expect to get good designs from here if you have your requirements in place

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

DesignCrowd helped us a lot in our early stages as it was easy for us to get custom designs made when our team didn't had in-house designer of our own.

  ### 6. Easy to navigate

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** JoAnn E. A. | Grants Writer, Public Relations, Education Management, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Easy to pitch ideas to get multiple designs by simply describing the project and platform for the design needed. It’s step by step and reasonably priced for multiple designs.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I wish I could alter the colors, fonts, and have more of direct interactions for the drafts. I felt a little more differentiation between designs would have been nice. However getting 3 designs for under $80 is an unbelievable deal.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hiring a graphic designer would have cost triple what I paid for these services. Plus having the ability to print directly from the design company is very efficient as well. I would not have been able to design and print as quickly if I had to purchase from another company. Also, the guarantee behind the work and products made me feel at ease with my purchases. Therefore it is both efficiency in time and money to choose this company.

  ### 7. Get ideas for the realization of your designs using this app.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Caitlyn F. | Graphic Designer, Airlines/Aviation, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 18, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

I really like this software because it provides ideas so you can start making your designs and it helps you to demonstrate all your skills, potentials and creativity to the different companies that look for unique designs. I also like that I can use DesignCrowd as a medium for the realization of my projects and the development of my business so I can find many clients through this software. If you do not have a main idea with which to start a design this software will not hesitate to helps you.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

Since I am using this software I have not found something that I do not like. But... I must pay more to get more shipments, that's a bit disgusting because what I want is to have more profits for my time invested.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

I recommend this software to all those people, companies and businesses that want more clients and want ideas from people not only from the United States but worldwide. In spite of the prices this app does not disappoint because you get the right thing for what you do, this will definitely be your favorite software.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This software gives me ideas to start with a project so I have the ability to create many designs for the company in which I work. I can count on people from other places to help me carry out my projects, so thanks to the many creative ideas that they give me they helps me highlight the designs I create for the company, something that gets attention of many people.

  ### 8. Hard for emerging designers, a good way to practice your work

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett M. | Video Maker, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

I really like that you have access to such a variety of projects and that you are able to pick and choose the work you do.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I dislike that if a customer doesn't appreciate the work you did, even if it's an alright design, just not something the client loves, you get a low review/score which impacts the future clients because they see a low score without seeing the context or quality of the design

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

If you have an established and well rounded skill-set in design, then I believe it would be a good fit for you as a designer.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Design crowd is helping me to find clients without needing to promote myself, or search for clients on my own time. I can spend time designing, rather than job hunting.

  ### 9. Your vision comes to life!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LaToya B. | Associate Director of Rec Programming, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 05, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

I like that you can give an initial ideas to the designers so that they have a starting point. Since it is viewed as a competition, it is an opportunity for the designers to show off their skills and give you their best. You get design submissions from all over the world and everyone I've worked with has been more than willing to make changes and tweaks multiple times to ensure that you're happy with the end product. Once you finalize your design, it is sent to you and every format that you request.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I didn't find any dislikes using this process and actually came out with a logo. While you get what you pay for, I did find that you need to pay more to get more submissions. But it makes since, designers want to go for the opportunities that will land them the greatest amount of return on their invested time.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

This is a way to get ideas from folks not just within the US, but worldwide. I couldn't think of a better way to find design ideas! The price is fair for the number of designs that you get.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It seems that logos are always needed or designs for special events, and this allows many hats to be tossed in for ideas. Our team is not filled with members that have a creative flair. We are very task-oriented. So Design Crowd gives us the option to have others help us in areas that we do excel in.

  ### 10. Make your concepts come true!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Human Resources | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

With graphic designers from all over the world, you have the ability to take the start of your idea, share it, and see what comes about!. It truly takes the hard part off of you if you lack in the creativity side and allows you to move forward with multiple designs/logos to choose from. You can't go wrong!

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I had plenty of time to complete my projects because I like to get ahead of the game. But I would not suggest using this route if you have a time sensitive project. Plan ahead...

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

When looking at the price, we initially thought it was quite high. But honestly, you get what you pay for. We have not been let down when using DesignCrowd. Many of our initial needs were for the opening of our organization, but as small events arise we know that DesignCrowd is our go to place.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When we first launched our opening, we needed logos and designs for different events, and we haven't been let down yet. Since you get more than one idea submitted, we were able to bring the designs to our team meetings and vote on which one we liked best.

  ### 11. Fake guarantee, terrible designs

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

They answered to our refund email quickly.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

We received terrible designs. We trusted their promise of "full refund", but it turns out they keep 55Eur out of 165Eur payment.
We feel cheated and we do not recommend this dishonest marketplace to anybody.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Graphic design for advertisements

  ### 12. Design Crowd for the right crowd

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Typically when you need something designed, you find a graphic designer and you have to work within their designs and ideas and it can be limiting. With Design Crowd you have options and different ideas.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

There are times where even with the multiple options you are given what you are hoping for or what you envisioned is not one of the options.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Each of our clients has different branding and having the option to choose from multiple designers increases our chances of finding a design that fits the brand.

  ### 13. Exploitation of Designers

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hussain A. | Senior UI / UX Designer, Internet, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 04, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

If you're totally jobless, then it provides an opportunity for a break, albeit a long shot but still a chance at getting some work

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

The whole business model is based on exploiting vulnerable designers who will produce tons of design work and yet not get paid a penny. On the other hand, the buyer of goods pays, for e.g. just $100 bucks, gets designs from loads of designers

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

Avoid. You're better off looking for someone who would value your work better

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None!

  ### 14. Good resource for quick design

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Easy to use. Also offer a money back guarantee.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

it's very easy to use. and it offers a money back guarantee. For a design business, their website is very basic and uninteresting, but the important thing is the UX i good

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

I'd check out other options unless you have a lot of repetitive unimportant design work

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting something quickly designed.

  ### 15. Designcrowd review

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 14, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

Designcrowd offered a variety of selections and were creative.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

The prices were still too high for me as a new startup even though they could be reasonable for bigger companies.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I needed a design and I was able to select from different options without trying to design something myself.

  ### 16. What a great concept

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Fishery | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I have not seen anything that I dislike at this time.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Looking for a promotional design for a festival.

  ### 17. great program for what it is

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Arts and Crafts | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 13, 2018

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

the simplicity and overall beneficial use

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

nothing really it's a little confusing at first

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

makes projects easier to handle

  ### 18. The best online platform to work as a freelance designer

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Floyd P. | Getting Started Senior Associate (HR Assistant), Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 11, 2016

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

I am a freelance amateur designer, and I constantly search for new projects on my free time as a college student, Designcrowd seems to make this task much easier and with a world-wide range of opportunities. in Designcrowd there are several job categories that give me the opportunity to be one of the designers responsible for giving life to those projects. It allows you to choose from the moment you sign up the way you would like to receive your payment; you then have to choose between Moneybookers (Skrill) and PayPal. Both are very safe purses in which millions of people have entrusted their money. Once you finish your project they will pay you through the account email you have entered.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

The main advantage is that it only focuses on work for designers, which then becomes in a specialized freelance work platform. However, this can also be a disadvantage because it limits job offers to only one professional branch, It could expands up even more for photographers, architectural designers, fashion designers, among others; the design itself has a wider meaning, but even so I think that Designcrowd is on a very distinguished road. You can gain a lot of experience, especially if you're a novice or just opening the way in the freelance designer world. In case that your design is accepted, you'll earn money; and if not, you will win another design for your portfolio.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

If you are any type of designer, Designcrowd is perfect for you. It is simply the best way to improve your creativity and skills, and build your own portfolio if you are an amateur, student or a new professional designer. In the design industry it is extremely important to have a portfolio, so you will need to build it and demonstrate the really brillan you are; this platform can contribute you to do so and I woul recommend to anyone to give it a try.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have have the possibility to adapt my profile to the type of designs I want to develop according to my skills (logos, business cards, icons, and so on), so it is easy for clients to know who I am and what I do. After completing my profile, the platform recommends me works on my specific design area.

  ### 19. Crowdsourced Design - May the Best Design Win

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 08, 2016

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

The way DesignCrowd works is a little different than other creative procurement services available. Using DesignCrowd, you post a detailed "briefing" in terms of what you would like your designer to create (be it logo, business card, etc.), set a budget, and then designers will "answer" with a design based on your briefing. Think of it as having many designers at your disposal, all with their own interpretations, and then you choose the best one and that designer gets paid. It's a great way to compare and contrast design styles, and you only pay for the one you choose so it's a win-win for the buyer.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

I didn't really have anything negative to say about my experience with DesignCrowd. Obviously you aren't paying multiple thousands for a logo, so don't expect that level of thought, but what I was delivered was on par with what I paid.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

For what you pay, you should give it a try. The more specific you are at the onset of the project, the better.

**What problems is DesignCrowd solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You might have a vague idea of what you want, but without the skills to realize it. That's where DesignCrowd comes in, and you crowdsource the one you think is closest to the mark. Every designer has a different approach, so in the end you get to choose from a wide gamut of solutions. Some are obviously better than others, but only the best win.

  ### 20. Great for Logos and Specific Graphic Design Work

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Internet | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 20, 2017

**Describe the project or task DesignCrowd helped with:**

I've posted a few projects for Logos and design mock ups. The logo projects have all gone well, while the design mock ups had mixed results.

**What do you like best about DesignCrowd?**

It's got a good interface, it's easy to use and clear for all involved. The price was great.

**What do you dislike about DesignCrowd?**

When I posted these projects (a little while ago), the amount of graphic designers on it weren't the same as some other services. But the price was much better.

**Recommendations to others considering DesignCrowd:**

Take a look at recent projects to make sure your project is similar enough to them that the contractors will be able to execute it well.
