"Very easy to use this almost magical software"

What do you like best about Descript?

The most helpful thing about Descript is that whilst editing it is easy to switch between editing blocks of text and editing out background noise. I have a workflow where I put tracks in, remove filler words, top and tail it, shorten word gaps and apply studio sound at 30-50% then I'm really close to a final cut. It saves me SO much time. What do you dislike about Descript?

Sometimes constant updates can be a pain. Studio Sound if not used judiciously can "swallow" words. Copy pasting more than one track from the timeline can be intermittent in terms of how easy it is to highlight a section accurately. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?

My problem is that I am not and never will be an audio professional, nor can I afford one. Descript allows me to produce listenable podcast content without lots of equipment and a steep learning curve Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Deceptive Pricing"

What do you like best about Descript?

Hard to say what I like, because I just got text I cannot read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descript?

Very deceptive pricing model, charging you twice Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Descript solving and how is that benefiting you?

I came across this service and asked a client to go ahead and record a meeting in Greek, thinking I could use this service to translate.

A 1 hour 35 minute audio file was uploaded and i paid for 2 hours. They also said I would receive 30 minutes free. Great.

It transcribed into Greek text, useless to me because I don't speak Greek but that's why I was using their system, clicked 'Translate" and got this: "You need more time. 54 minutes 42 seconds remaining, to continue translating this transcript you need to have 1 hour 35 minutes 17 seconds."

That is NOT how their pricing is described. I paid for 2 hours translation, not just Greek text. Also on G2 I see their pricing as $5 per hour, no they charge $10 per hour and apparently you have to pay for the tranascription and then pay the same again for the translation, so it's actually $20 per hour. I'm not exactly sure what you mean by translation, and I think we need some more context on this to get this sorted. On our free plan, you should get 1 hour of free transcription per month.
