"Real-Time Tracking with Seamless TMS Integration"
5/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

I like Descartes MacroPoint for its ease of use, allowing ops users to track trucks from the TMS without much extra work. It helps us track in real time the location of all the trucks we have moving loads and allows for greater visibility for our customers, reducing the need for back and forth calls with drivers. It also reduces back and forth with carriers and check calls to find out where a driver is, and it minimizes pickup and delivery failures. When we know a delay is going to happen, we can alert the customer and plan accordingly. The initial setup was fairly straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

I experience some missed tracking events, likely due to cell track carriers not cooperating and/or a lack of cell phone service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Carrier Integration with Descartes MacroPoint"
5/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

I really appreciate Descartes MacroPoint for making the process of connecting with carriers super easy, especially those new to our network. It's awesome how quickly we can add a new carrier and have them connected via ELD in just minutes. The way it handles these connections is seamless compared to other providers. Plus, the initial setup was very easy, which was a big relief. We've made it our primary tool because it effectively tracks over 70% of our shipments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

I'm concerned about identifying outdated ELD connections with carriers. It would be helpful if there was an easier way to update or switch the default to the new ELD, as many carriers have multiple connections showing. We often have to manually choose the correct one in the portal for shipments to successfully track. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real Time Tracking Solution across our diverse carrier network"
4/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

The ability to integrate directly with a wide array of carriers ELD and TMS platforms and provide one clear picture of where our shipments are at a given time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

Limited reporting options, and we do not have the ability to create custom reports. It would also be helpful if we could create alerts specific to carrier compliance trends so that we can proactively monitor performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

I think there should be an option to see delivered loads on the tower instead of having to go to the historical search. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Real-Time Load Visibility and Easy Tracking Sharing"
4/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

i appreciate the ability to see where my loads are at any given time. I appreciate the logic that allows me to see when my load is expected to arrive. I like being able to share tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

We set planned inbound dates and time. As such, isolating loads that will miss planned inbound times can sometime be problematic. This could be due to my lack of knowledge on the platform. Our account is set up for multiple locations on multiple ERP systems, this sometimes makes it more cumbersome due to sifting out loads that aren't the ones that i work with. It would also be beneficial if there were flags or alerts in the system to let us know that a load will miss planned inbound times or if it's in our yard past a time that will determine that it won't make it on time. It would also be nice if we could track empty incoming trailers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Highly Accurate and User-Friendly Tracking, Needs Improved Geofencing"
5/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

I like the accuracy of Descartes MacroPoint in providing up-to-date locations of the assigned trucks. The ease of use is a big plus since most carriers we work with are already familiar with it. I also appreciate the fraud prevention feature that checks driver's phone numbers for possible fraud. The initial setup was easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

Geofencing technology could be tighter. I'd like a smaller radius so we have a better idea of when the unit actually arrives. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Indispensable and easy tool for real-time tracking with integration facilities."
5/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

It is very useful when sending tracking instructions to the drivers I work with, I can see them almost in real time, although sometimes I have some issues but nothing major, and being interconnected with the tool for tracking loads, it makes it much easier for me to mark all loads as picked up and delivered, it is very easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

I would like to be able to keep a record of the phone numbers I have already used when tracking, and not have to search for and enter them manually each time. There should be a section for driver records that is also 100% editable when saving them, like a phone contact that I can just select and it automatically gets placed in the load to be tracked. That would be super useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"My customers prefer MacroPoint, so I do as well. And that is a fact."
4.5/5
What do you like best about Descartes MacroPoint?

My favorite function is how MP calculates the ETAs of the units being tracked at any given point of the trip. This makes all the needed info available "at a glance" Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Descartes MacroPoint?

The lack of an "autofil" function. One must continually type in repetitive information like email addresses of those that you choose to get the updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
